I actually think there is much less luck involved in the LCG than CCG or MTG for that matter.
I think the problem for most people is that this game has such a huge decision tree that in the beginning you feel like you're losing because of bad RNG. After you get a lot of reps in you start to realize all the poor decisions you used to make.
I swear, I lost probably 10 of my first 12 games but now with over 100 games under my belt I win probably 70% of the games.

Imperial Favor isn't a card in play and had no traits. So the above is correct, No it doesn't work with Seppun

SlackerHacker reacted to AradonTemplar in Spoiler: Censure. Worst card so far?
I really like the design of this card. Something like this could easily have made 2+ cost events unplayable. Instead, it makes it very clear that holding the favor means you get to play expensive events, and that you're running a risk if you play events against someone that has favor. It's *very* easy to track and mentally digest. It's a really good reason to try and contest the favor, too. A neutral cancel card was pretty much necessary and inevitable, so I'm glad they went with one that works well, rather than potentially crippling every event ever printed. I mean, this card hurts stuff like Fate Worse than Death and Five Fires, but if you need to play those effects, you make an effort to take the imperial favor. They don't become dead cards, you just play around this one.

I might be a little biased, though, because it's incredibly solid for Phoenix specifically. It's a bit unfortunate that taking imperial favor becomes harder when you have expensive events in your hand (due to having fewer cards that are appropriate at the moment) so this helps snowballing.

Lion is the best honor clan right now. I've won by honor several times and could have more but you tend to be close to honor wins and dishonor wins at that same time. Pretty often I'm up to 20+ and have them down to 4 or less.

More than likely you will be able to buy Tears at World if not all 6 of the packs.

I think the bottom line here is this:
Stale metas kill the game. Imperial in 6 weeks ensures that won't happen.
Second, people are acting like your 3 core set decks are going to be garbage. Not so! Core set cards tend to be purposely strong to ensure people buy 3 of them.
Even after the whole Imperial cycle is out 3 core decks will still be good. You're just not going to have the variety of good builds and there may be an upgrade or two that you miss out on.
Still, if you play well you're going to do fine. Buy the packs you like when you can, your decks are not going to suddenly be obsolete in two months, it will take longer than that for the meta to figure out what to do with the new cards anyway.

I know that there were several Star Wars LCG and Netrunner players at Tower games, I suspect there will be L5R players there as well. I heard there is a group that will be playing at both The Source and Fantasy Flight Game Center.
If you happen to be going through Hutchinson at some point or want to travel out here for tournaments or the launch we're going to have events a Sanctuary Games.

I'm considering putting together a site that will act as an event/play group finder. Still working out how to make it work.
The site will be listed by state with stores, events and contact info for the local group. I will link to FB groups as well.
I will have a section on finding online games as well.
