Mr. Flibble got a reaction from Sarone in Starfighter Creation Thread
I think it can be justified. When you add in the supposed performance of some of the Clone Wars-era starfighters, it doesn't seem that the A-wing and the TIE interceptor are really the fastest fighters ever--the fastest of their generation, maybe, but not the fastest ever built in the setting. As it turns out, the A-wing may be a little less notable for its raw speed (impressive though that may be) than for the circumstances under which a fighter of that quality with that kind of speed capability was put together. A generation before, something like that was achieved only with the full backing of the Republic during active wartime, not by a relatively small, underfunded guerrilla force.

Or maybe he's just smarmy enough to say "I know something you don't know. I.... am not left handed!"

Very shortly after Palpatine became Emperor. The Wookiees tried (unsuccessfully) to protect several refugee Jedi, and Vader and the Emperor took this as an excuse to enslave them.

And it doesn't bother me a bit, because for those of us who aren't card gamers, it's a chance to see some of the best Star Wars art yet commissioned.

Most of the illustrations out there would suggest that The Wheel is much, much more than 4.4 kilometers across. I'd be putting in a Death Star neighborhood of bigness. If it has a resident population of 300K, it would make me think there's a very uneven density distribution, and very possibly that large chunks of the station are uninhabited.

    Hey folks,

After spending way more time than we liked trying to calculate initiative order to start combat (which seemed to slow down the pace of the game, especially when you're dealing with 10+ slots to sort out), we had the idea for an automated tool to do this.  So I whipped up this page. After using it a few times, I think I'm sufficiently satisfied that it works well and speeds up the process a good amount. So I thought I'd share.

    http://initcalc.imperialnet.net/

Basically the GM (or someone helping the GM with initiative sorting tasks) just has to plug in the dice results as they happen, hit the button, and it will automatically add that result into the proper slot on to the grid below.

Let me know if anyone has any questions, suggestions, or finds any issues. Enjoy!

(And props to the peeps in my group who came up with the idea and are hosting the page!)

    Hey Guys,

This is just for the people who don't visit the Edge of the Empire part of the forums.

I'd like to make it clear that I have absolutely NO artistic credentials, I am not a graphic artist, I am completely self taught, and I have got a bucket load of feedback from people around the interwebs to make these what they are.

Enjoy, and please feel free to comment.

We don't know that thing is an astromech, do we? Maybe it is a head on a rolling soccer ball. Maybe all soccer balls are droids in the Star Wars universe (because they make such a nice squealing noise when you kick them).

Today's entry should be useful for EOTE GMs: the Imperial Customs Corvette. This one is pretty straightforward, as it is similar in size to the Corellian Corvette, Corellian Gunship, and Marauder Corvette from the core book. I leaned light where there was any doubt about what value to assign a stat, since the ICC really isn't meant for heavy combat. There is some discrepancy between sources on the ICC's weapons; WEG and Wookieepedia give it six double turbolasers, while the Saga Edition Starships of the Galaxy sourcebook changes these to laser cannons. I decided that turbolasers might be a little overpowered for the ICC's purpose, so I've gone with double heavy laser cannons. On the black market, these ships go for what the market will bear when they are available, and there is no above-board list price that PCs can pay since Rendili StarDrive supplies ICCs to the Imperial Customs Office through an exclusive contract, so like every other source I list these as "not available for sale."

Wookieepedia and Starships of the Galaxy claim that the twenty troops assigned to an ICC are stormtroopers. I think this sounds fairly ridiculous for a customs ship and that Imperial Navy troopers (the closest thing I can see to "marines") are a more likely troop type. Your mileage, as always, may vary.

The teaser really didn't tell me much one way or the other. My main concern is the same: whether veterans like Kasdan can exert enough influence to prevent Abrams from turning Episode VII into another one of his plot-and character-free high-octane action fests. After he and his crew got done with Star Trek, I felt like my best friend had been dismembered before my eyes, so I'm not really happy at the prospect of him murdering the rest of my childhood.

    No lens-flares... so far.

I'm not a huge fan of JJ. and although I did enjoy Star Trek (I thought ST2 sucked) I found it to be light on character development, frat-boyish and unprofessional for a quasi-military Star Fleet, and the action to be a bit frantic. Too many close up shots and not enough establishing shots, all action and not much suspense or breathing room between scenes. I really hope he spends more time on the characters but I'm not sure he will.

Edit: and I agree; it's a Lightsaber not a flaming sword...
