So after some discussion between myself and or GM, and looking at the 40k wikia, we realized that all the dreadnoughts start out with the same Mars Pattern Chassis, and are modified from there.
As for the Venerable, start with a basic Dreadnought, give it the Living Relic Trait from RoB (pg 41), increase its armor base to front 45, side 40, rear 25, a force field with a rating of 35, no overload, similar to the ability that is granted to terminator power armor. Since increasing traits is allowed, we didnt really think it nessicary to increase the WS or BS.
We also came up with a version of the Hurricane Bolter that we think is closer to the idea behind one.
-/3/9, 1d10+9 X, Pen 4, range 75m, Clip 300, Reload 3 full, Tearing, Storm.
Since the Hurricane Bolter is 6 Bolters strapped togeather and fired as a single weapon, the range is more equivelant to an arm mounted bolter and errated weapon damage. The rate is more in keeping with the fact you are talking about standard bolters, and is set to represent one half of the rack of 6 bolters, with the storm trait taking care of the other half. You net the same total rate at semi-auto as is listed in RoB, but you get a better shot total at full atuo by one third.

I agree with the above post on several levels. I do have some specific issues though. For one, Space Wolves Devistators are some of the oldest of thier Great Companies, as command really doesnt trust heavy weapons to blood claws, so there would be some level of acknowladgement of good tactics and order. Secondly, a Space Marine, while he may disagree with an order, and may, in fact, disregard it once, would not do so again, espically if it came from the recogniced squad commander. Now there are always going to be exceptions to this rule, such as there being intense rivalries between the chapters, or a situation the commander is unaware of, but in general, a Space Marine would not lightly ignore a second, repeted order to do somthing without severe threat of incarceration or even summary execution.

Hey, I have been looking for stats for Dreadnought Patterns other than the base, Ironclad, and Furioso patterens listed in Rites of Battle and First Founding. Specifically, I was looking for stats for a Venerable Dreadnought. A friend of mine and I were thinking effectivley taking a base pattern and boosting the armor, but that just doesnt seem to fit all that well with what a Venerable is.
Thanks

I have tried this in other systems, but getting everything working properly can be a rather lagre pain in the a@@. I do like the idea, however, and I would reccomend that you run the opfor in BFG, though not ever having played that, I dont know how realistic that would be. It would garuntee that the opposition was played to the utmost, however.
