Did anyone else notice it's the PS8 pilot cardboard insert in the Advanced model pic of the article?

Guys...I think that says Juno Eclipse.

Dang, I would have loved a BSG version of these game mechanics.  Hey, FFG, you paying attention?  They could do old and new versions too.  Just leave Loren Green out though, LOL.

Do you remember that dark moment when you finally realize that you bought your "classic" miniatures before some other gamers were actually conceived...

I have never found any overpowered bacon. I deal with new bacon the same way I have dealt with the old bacon. Nothing stands up against my Chomping Jaws of Death.

    From what I have learned:
Every Rebel release makes them overpowered.
Every Empire release makes them overpowered.
That's before any single model gets to the table. In most cases before there's any knowledge of the stats, pilots or upgrades.
Stop people moaning before they've even played against/with a ship and you stop the mockery.
Now the threads of "My game winning list just got blaster-spanked in two turns" shouldn't be mocked. Those tend to be full of good advice on how to improve against the dream list killer.

So I was going back and forth weather or not I wanted to get into Armada, but the real reason was because I like Star Destroyers.   Now that we've pretty much got one in X-Wing, My mind is firmly planted here in X-Wing.

Don't listen to the naysayers, give it a try.  there is a tendency to follow the herd on this board.  I would say consider a homing missle as well.  they are excellent.  Read the card carefully.  You must have a target lock to fire it but you do not spend that lock, which means you can spend it to modify dice.  For one point, it is superior to a lot of other munitions.  Maybe an assault and a homing, and running one without ordnance. (you could always use those ponts on something else.)  If it were me, I would probably drop one missle on a Z to give an awing more teeth.  (predator, PTL, Lone wolf)

I would probably run the Zs spread out a little in a line and flank with the A wings.  After the zs unload they can help block things up so your As can hammer em with the prockets.

Run what you like.  it is a game. have fun

P.S. Diversifying your loadout a little on the Zs gives you options.  your are set up to crush a swarm, but there are a lot of other builds out there.  homing helps you hammer an interceptor, ion pulse and cluster are good choices for low agility or large base ships.  if you are going to play with missles, switch it up a bit.  I think when you lay your cards out and your opponent sees 3 assault missles, he is going to break up his swarm during deployment. this is valuable for you, but a lot of players will do this if you only have on assault missle, which means there is a good chance your others will be wasted.  If your enemy is a swarm and breaks formation, you have impacted his plan and that's good, but he has invalidated 3 assault missles. that's 15 points that may not do you much good in that scenario.

paladin72 reacted to TIE Pilot in George Lucas
    George Lucas:
Set up LucasFilm, Industrial Light and Magic (has made visual effects for over 300 films), Skywalker Sound (about 30 films a year, have won 18 Academy Awards) and Pixar, all of which have done massively more than just Star Wars, has made a huge number of films, has used his fortune (including a lot of the Disney sale) in a wide range of philanthropic endeavours. The Rebels series that gets talked about a lot on this forum and despite being a kids show is fairly popular? That's an evolution of Clone Wars which George Lucas was directly behind. Also behind LucasArts which, while it may have got to **** in its last few years due to severe mismanagement issues, produced a huge and wide ranging amount of material since it opened in 1982. Monkey Island springs to mind. Oh, and he's why credits are at the end of films.

This is barely scratching the surface.

But no, he made three films that weren't as critically acclaimed as three other films he made (they were still massive box office successes and the people who claim to loathe them "because it's cool" are not the majority), and thus he deserves to be hounded and mocked by a massive internet circlejerk for the rest of his days.

AP has usually been pretty quick with their orders. I've noticed that my latest order, which I placed sometime during their Black Friday sale, still hasn't shipped. Kinda expected that though, since it was a holiday and a sale. In the past, my orders have shipped out within the same week, even within 2-3 days

paladin72 reacted to Corellian Corvette in Two Y-Wings took my decimator for a walk, have not seen it since, please advise.
Well, Kinkirk and isard was just walked off the board while my 3 ties just stood around and watched.
This raises a issue, the decimatior is REALLY easy to ionize. And when you are stressed from using PTL off of isards free evade to arc dodge Corran (and kill him), your screwed.
To be fair, I forgot I took Mara and Rebel Captive, didnt use them once per game, but still!
He used cracken and 2 y-wings to control my decimator and walk it off in 4 turns. It was in the middle of the board when it was zapped, and it was stressed. I had just killed Corran and the Ties had kicked Craken down to 1 hull.
Next turn Ties kill Craken and k turn to get on the y wings tail, both y-wings have target locks on my deck thanks to cracken though and both zap it again. It fires back but fails to scrach a y-wing.
The turn after that the ties are shooting at a y-wing and strip shields. The y-wings must be aces dueto their pperformance at evading fire. The decimator gets a range one shot at a y-wing, but roll 2 blanks and 2 eyes. If only I wasn't stressed. Y-wings only get one hit on me this time.
This turn, the decimator despratly takes a hard 1 turn to avoid the board edge, still stressed. Fails to damage a y-wing at range one. Fantastic. The 3 escorting ties fail to kill the other y-wing still, and they get the second ion token on it, and next turn its off the board. The hard one bank wasn't enough.
The ties kill a y-wing (finally), but the other one goes hog wild and murders all three of them. At the end of the day, one y-wing remains with 4 hull still remaining.
Anyways, unlike Outriders and Falcons, the imperial decimator does not have the auto-evade infrastructure set up like the rebels do, and is easy prey to board control lists. I was walked off the board with 6 hull left still! I think it would of been different if I remembered to use 6 points worth of crew, but alas, was not to be.
Y-Wings are the Plague! (Also yay first game with beautiful decimator!)

Because 1000 heads are better than 10? I have seen a lot of suggestions on here that were great balanced thematic ideas. I have seen some that were awful. That's how ideas progress.
I would think if a game designer doesn't listen to ideas from the people that play every day, then they aren't very good designers.

paladin72 reacted to Cosmos3714 in Why is this game taken so seriously?
I love this game and my husband and I play all the time at home and with friends.  We love to play the game to have fun, to play in the spirit of the movies.  It is always just a good time, spending time with friends and making jokes and telling stories about growing up loving the movies and books.  I think that is the way it should be played.

We went to and played at a tournament at local game store yesterday and I couldn't believe the way the judge was acting.  He was rude, shouted every third thing, and I'm pretty sure he was cheating.  Why not just have fun?  There was a kid there, playing for what seemed like is third or fourth time after getting the game.  He was very excited and I happened to play him after he played the judge.  I noticed that he wasn't taking actions and asked him about it; he was convinced that he couldn't take an action unless he performed a green move.  When I let him know that he could and that it would help his game he seemed surprised; when I asked if he was using actions during his previous game, he said 'no'.  So, unfortunately the judge, who had no problem jumping down the throats of all the other players to rules lawyer the heck out of the game, didn't help this kid out, because it wasn't in his (the judge's) benefit.  It's too bad; I hope it doesn't tarnish this kids wanting to play the game.  (Worst part - there were six games going, the judge played against three children who seemed to be just starting out, and he won.)
Its too bad that people act like that.  The store we played in was a nice place, but I don't think we will be going back. Hopefully the children he played against, don't start to act that way hoping it will get them a win.
