  1. I know that there is small section in the Honor the Chapter book, however I am curious has anyone ever used the Exorcised Radical Background package from the Radical's Handbook to create these Space Marines, Everything in the entry explains the Chapters unique resistance to demonic influence and warp exposure and it matches their dour demeanor as it has been describe. Mechanically does anyone think that the package is too overpowered or gives them to much of an advantage or throw off game balance? Does anyone have experience using them as printed?

  2. Okay first Astorpaths are the way to go if you want an easy time dealing with psyker powers. Most of the psyker powers are pretty straight forward along with the Disciplines that they entail. Navigators are not Psykers. They are mutants who has the ability to manipulate the warp in unknown and dangerous ways. While an interesting character concept along with numerous different builds I would stir away from the Navigator for both you and the player. Navigators are nobility in their own right and each is a partner with the Rogue Trader not a servant that can be ordered about like some common Arch-Militant or Void Master. Their abilities are complicated due to the leveling aspect that each gets and they get very few powers as you mentioned. Finally the Weirdboy. An alien pysker who does not channel the Warp, but instead Channels the Waaaa!, which is the manifestation of the collective sub conscience of Orks. It can be a very fun experience having a Weirdboy, but also maddening at times as well. Orks are not the most stable of crew members and interaction outside the Rogue Traders retnuie can become probelmatic. Also to take into consideration is the ramifications of having a unsantionced xeno within your party and collaberating with it. The Inquisitition and other organization look down on that kinda of thing. That is unless you have the Into the Storm book and then if you the Weirdboy would have become Santionced to relieve some of the problems having a xeno in your party creates. For the easy of you and your player's sanity I recommend that they play an astropath with some Telepathy and then focus on Telekine abilities. This gives an overall unity character and also an excellent combat foil to enemies with high powered weapons or exotic powers themselves.

  3. There are a total of 12 Sound Constitution increases that can be purchased between General Space Marine Advances and Deathwatch Advances. With 18 as a base and 1d5 a random factor you can end up with 31-35 Wounds total unless your a Storm Warden which than it is increased by +2 Wounds. Looking in all the printed material for Space Marines there is not Chapter Advancement table that has Sound Constitution as a talent that can be purchased. So the only way to get this is either throught the General Adavancement or Deathwatch Advancement. Most NPC listed Space Marines have 22-30 Wounds. The only exception to this is the Watch Captain Esteban de Dominova who has 40… somehow.

Aside from the these facts the Eldar listed are leaders of their respective groups. Ebahn Lauma is built simliar to an Exarch however he is very much a Corsair. Erandel Voidsinger has 42 Wounds which is very close to the generic listed Autarch in Koronus Bestiary. The Harlequin Ailill Nuada does have a unusally high number of wounds, but she is a Harlequin. Weird is their middle name. The only one I object to is the 64 on the Haemonculus Vakillar U'riss. She has more wounds than a Necron Lord and I find that hard to believe even with the extensive modifications that she has under gone.

More over they all still have the traditional Eldar Unnatural Agility trait. Eldar I thought at least relied on their natural dexetriy and superior understand of tactics to those of their enemies. Having the second most advance technological base also helps too.

  4. I do not think that FFG will end Dark Heresy even if book sales tamper off. Besides even if Dark Heresy becomes a dormat or eveb dead product line it can be revitalized by introducing Dark Heresy 2nd Edition! "And now with all new character creations rules and equipment". Same thing we have all seen with our favorite RPG.

I would like all the book mentioned to be published. An Ordo Xeno's book would be nice as well, but I have a special place in my heart for the cowering Adept with stub pistol holding on to a valuable tome needed by his Inquisitor to stop some unknowable evil from the Warp. Seeing Battlefleet Calixis with rules for Battleship stats would be nice as well. I would like to see more involving the Storm Wardens who are left in the Calixis Sector also. They have done every other major Imperial organization except the Administratum, Ordo Xenos, and Ordo Hereticus. The small mention of the Ordo Hereticus in the Blood of Martyrs book doesn't do them justice and the Deathwatch book does not count as the Ordo Xenos book. I want a book for Acolytes and Throne Agents in the Ordos. A Calixis Sector guide book that ties a couple of games lines together would be very nice.

  5. Alright I can't find it anywhere in the forums. I going to throw it out there. The Administrtum book is next. I know everyone clowers in fear and the groans are numerous, but come on people we need another social interaction book. Ascension was released over 3 year ago and it really just bearly scratched the surface of the power games played by nobles and the other organizations of the Adeptus within the Imperium. Influence (profit factor coff*) is an interesting way of measuring how you change the course of an investigation or even sign the death warrant on a world, but what about the individual contact you can foster as an Adept working for the greatest data mining network in the history of Mankind.

    Your thoughts?

  6. I played a Dark Angel Apothecary and enjoyed it greatly. I have always like playing support roles more than any other clas types regardless of what game I  am playing. I tried to make my Apothecary a sniper specialist, but it didn't work out with most of the talent tree needed for that in other specialities. I changed and became a hand flamer/chainsword horde smasher. I also doubled as the lore specialist due to the unique skill set of the Dark Angels. Nothing is sweeter than when you blackmail an Inquisitor and can live to tell the tale.
