Putting this in here just hoping for FFG to throw us a bone...
...are there ANY announcements or indications that FFG will put out an expansion or two for this? I'm a bit concerned that there may not be anything coming down the pipe for this product. Makes me think maybe I'm in the minority in my very fond feelings for this game.
I think the Vassal comment was for Conquest, not this one, but he seemed pretty sure in that video clip that it was for FS.
Any thoughts? FFG, any plans that you could leak for this, either way?

Sorta forgot about this, but yes, I would recommend Rex. As I stated I prefer Dune, but they are both solid games, and Rex is a bit more forgiving with regards to teaching new folks, which I find to be important.
Damoel,
Thanks for the input. I'm a bit of a games junkie, even thought they don't hit the table as often as I'd wish. Already preordered Forbidden Stars...I guess TI Rex will be my next wallet-thinning objective!

Personally, I like the Chaos faction...find them cute and cuddly...is that a problem?
That probably means I have a serious psychiatric disorder. No diagnosis as of yet...when it's found, I'm sure it'll be difficult to pronounce.
One thing: my gaming habit is cheaper and more effective than psychotherapy.
I think...

I love it - since it's so good solo, it is a way for me to unwind every so often. I just check out of the real world for an hour and get my &^#@! kicked around, usually.
But sometimes the Emperor truly does protect...

I'd love to see a Space Wolves or Ultramarines expansion pack. I see it reprinted every so often, so it must be selling enough to justify print runs.
As for expansions, they already have so many variety that any new chapters would probably just be re-themed and re-texted abilities. That said...I'd pick 'em up.
Love to see more POD stuff for this game. Great little game, for sure.

Deathwing? Dark Angels? Blood Angels? Space Wolves? I can see all kinds of expansions in the 40k universe here...Necrons, Tyranids, other Chaos factions...I think they're making the groups small enough to potentially expand this in a lot of directions.
I'm pretty hopeful on this one...

I think they're doing this with an eye towards expanding the franchise. I would - I mean, I can see Dark Angels, Blood Angels, etc. coming on line in future expansions. Doing just the Imperium, in general, wouldn't allow them to expand the game.
I'm thinking that with the modular board, small Space Marine Chapters, etc. this gives FFG the opportunity to run with it if it gets popular. I'm hoping it does; looks good to me.

Does anyone know if Nature's Ire will be made available to the general public? Looking forward to another Descent 2e co-op.

My two cents:
I hope they keep making a few more expansions for this game. My group loves it, even with a few flaws. It's fast, fun, and, overall, balanced. We just have a great time with it.
I'm concerned that nothing new has been announced for a few months. Manor of Ravens was announced months ago...and they've usually had something announced prior to the general release of a big box or small box expansion. Of course, I'm not counting the Hero and Monster collections.
I fear that they may be slowly dropping this in favor of Imperial Assault. Of course, I may just have to buy that one, too...

I'll try to put this in words, which is a bit difficult. Maybe this is just me, but I'll put it out here anyway...if I'm being nostalgic, it's just what came to mind after reading the Eighth's original post.
I love Descent 2e...one of the best games I own, and I have everything they've released for it. However, it can't compare with my earliest gaming memories of playing Axis and Allies (first edition...I'm dating myself here...) way back when my buddies and I would play it all night long, back and forth, until one of my friends had to leave for his paper route the next morning. We all agreed to pause the game until he was finished with his route and could come back so we could finish. For me, the game was great, but the experience with my friends was even better. Best birthday party I ever had.
So, fast forward a couple decades (and a bit more), add a career, a few kids, and all the associated pressures and responsibilities, and the fact that I just don't have much time for gaming. But I have a good group, and we get together regularly, over significant distances. But I can't re-create those earlier memories and experiences; the time and circumstances have just moved beyond those first days. New memories, new friends, etc., just add to my experiences, and make everything better.
I guess I'm just saying that if you're trying to re-create all the earlier memories of the fun with the games, you may be chasing a feather in the wind. That said, I think we all do that, to a degree. I know I do, but I also make sure to enjoy the chase.
End of waxing philosophical. Pass the tissues!

I have a quick question on the way the surge mechanic works. I'm playing OL and the heroes and I have a disagreement on how some of the gameplay mechanics work.
For example, the Infector I "Contaminated" card states that each monster gains a surge that infects the target. Does this mean that it's as if that surge is rolled with the dice? For example, if I roll a blue and red die with hearts on both, but no surges, is this surge added to the roll? Or is this card's ability ineffective because because no surges were rolled?
Similarly, the Basic II "Unctonrolled Power" card says the attach gains a surge of Suffer One Fatigue. Does that mean that, even if no surges are rolled, there is one fatigue suffered, regardless?
Or do these cards simply add a potential surge option should you roll enough surges?
I hope my question is clear on this. Thanks in advance for any clarification.
We have a second question as well - I've used a blast/sweep option before, and the heroes have the "Heavy Cloak" Shop I item card. It cancles one surge on an attack targeting that hero. They state that this includes all in the attack - meaning all in the sweep. I disagree - even though it is one attack, each hero is treated separately for defensive purposes.
Thank you all for any help.

Actually, it was this one - sorry - looked the same on line. But I found it on sale for less than half.

I use this:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Plano-728-Angled-StowAway-System/19487463
So far, it fits everything but the minis, and I am up to date on all expansions. Room for all the tiles in the top compartment.

I use a large fish tackle box I purchased from WalMart. Ran around $38 on sale - kinda pricey, but it fits everything (all expansions so far) with room to spare. Everything but the minis are all in one box.

Assuming that an expansion is coming, aside from the obvious addition of new factions, I'd like to see some kind of mechanism where you can overcome the "screw the guy to the right" problem.
Any ideas out there? Maybe another order or some kind of mechanism that assigns the first player or how the players place their tokens, allowing variable participation ordering each turn?
Too complex?
