Advanced Sensors would be wasted on Vader as you'd have to skip his Perform Action stage if you used them, and that's explicitly when he gets his two actions.

Also, it was a terrible plot device told in a bad story.

How about using a better manufacturer and upping the price?  It's all well and good saying "meh, it's the manufactures" but you get what you pay for.

I don't have any specific information on this situation, but I'm not surprised. I've had some experience with FFG and I've talked with several retailers about their experience with the company.
 
Fantasy Flight is very good at making games. They make good, high quality games. Not all of them are gems, but they do a fantastic job on average. However, because of this, they are often late on delivery. So much time and attention goes into making the games that they often push back projects instead of releasing something rushed or poorly made. In the long run, this is good, since we get better products, though frustrating the short run.
 
Here's a rule of thumb: Anytime you see a release date for a FFG product, add six months. If it does release on time, you will be pleasantly surprised. Don't wait with bated breath for these.

Well, I just had a quick google, couldn't find any inside pics from the game, so that's fine then (anyone remember the game?). Wherever this “light freighter” designation came from is clearly nonsense though, unless it's a TARDIS.

I am really beginning to like the Recon Specialist on a Firespray over Gunner. A focus to and attack and defend with is very useful. On the Kath and Boba variety adding Push the Limit with a Recon Specialist adds a lot of options for high attack or defensive postures. I have stopped using the HLC on my Firesprays, favoring a missile or torp if using Slave-1 upgrade. Engine upgrade is also nice with this set up.
 
Just some thoughts to mull if you are running dual sprays.

That's not true. The ambiguity arises because both cards seem to refer to the manoeuvre that was revealed, not the manoeuvre currently on the dial, which would make it clearer.

It's situational, but I love it (plus engine upgrade) on Vader.  The ability to both boost and daredevil gives you a lot of flexibility in your final position.

Well if you really want to be technical.  Only Han shot.  There was never a second shot.

That's what was added - Greedo's shot that Han "reacted to". It wasn't in the original. Han just blasted him, and you knew right away what type of character he was.

Exactly.  You know what the internet does that an FLGS cannot?  Sell stuff really cheap.  You know what they can't do?  Have that extra Y-Wing on the shelf for the guy who just has to try his new list right now.  It cannot provide a place to play in order to get that guy all excited, and it cannot give him a fountain drink to enjoy while he plays.
 
Brick and mortar stores lose when they try to compete with internet stores on price, they win when they compete on service and convenience.

I actually thought of this....

Just got round to trying out a squad of nothing but Ywings, and it proved very effective! The squad was Horton with an R2 and 3 Gold Squadron Pilots, all four with Ion Cannon Turrets, of course. I was up against Vader, Soonter and Turr, Vader with Engine Upgrade and the Interceptors with Stealth. I lost one of the Gold Squadron Pilots, other than that it was pretty one sided, not a lot they could do when they were ioned most turns, and the Ywings don't need to worry about getting them in their firing arcs.
Hortons ability didn't come into play very much, so I might drop him and see what else I can get for the points, maybe more astromechs, or torpedoes to cover range 3.
It's possible that this this worked in large part because I had the numbers; against a tie swarm it might not go se well, although it might still work - making them collide, plus the single wound will be pretty significant to them. I think it would work best against Firesprays and Shuttles, one straight forward could be disastrous for them, so long as you keep out of the Firesprays arcs.
So there you go, Ywings certainly aren't useless! Was a fun game to play, too.

Then again, firing on something outside your field of vision from something as responsive as an a-wing shouldn't yield any particularly high success rate.

It's a great move, I love it!
SwampThing's right in that the errata made it white, but it still gives you stress - this just means you can perform it even when stressed if your pilot ability is “you can perform actions when stressed” (aimed solely at one A-wing pilot, it seems).
But yeah, I only use it on ships with Boost so there's no damage, and when you've got this action it makes you so manoeuvrable that making a green first manoeuvre is easy.
My favourite pilot for this is Vader with an Engine Upgrade - you've got Barrel Roll, banks and turn, any two of which you can do following your normal move! Makes him bloody hard to get a shot on.

The IPV-1 does look like a reasonable match for the CR-90.  But is it iconic enough to represent the X-Wing line?  The corvette and transport they did pick to make are from memorable scenes from the movies. I suppose we did get the Moldy Crow, but that wasn't until wave 3.

Hands down the most fun pilot to fly
