I mean, it's probably similar in width, so it's gonna have quiiiite the footprint...

It's just under 18m long. That's doable!

So it should be about 4 times as long as the hight of an AT ST...and that would make it impossible to play it on the table. So the only options they have is to either dismiss that idea or to use a much smaller scale.
Or sell it with some sort of string and pulley system.... <imagines>

Think about it: How often do the AT-ST, T-47, or X-34 appear in competitive Legion lists? None of Heavies factor into the META because of terrain interference. The majority of Legion players prefer to play on battlefields littered with terrain pieces that provide cover for their troopers, rather than a barren field where vehicles can move freely.
That doesn't mean Legion players don't love their Heavies!
Just wait, chances are FFG will create an official new, larger battlefield, eventually. FFG admitted that the AAT and Sabre tank have the largest bases they've ever made for Legion, and they previously had to create a larger base for the Occupier tank. Legion is constantly evolving. Something is only considered "impossible" or "impractical" until FFG does it, like the Super Star Destroyer.
I am absolutely certain that the AT-TE will happen, even if FFG has to design a new size battlefield and new Battle Plan Cards to accommodate the AT-TE... and the Separatists' counterpart, which could be the MTT, which is even larger than the AT-TE. I'd buy it! Although I think the Hailfire Droid is more plausible. The Octuptarra Tri-droid would be crazy... crazy-awesome! Honestly, I would buy any Clone Wars vehicle from the Prequel Trilogy films or the Clone Wars CG-animated series. The Prequel films might not have been the greatest, but I have nothing but respect and admiration for the model designers who contributed vehicles and ship for those movies.
FFG should've hired some of those talented designers to create the Legion core set's Rebel Support unit, instead of the AT-RT.
Haha, I brought it back on-topic!
I think Epic vehicles for Legion are very likely, in the long term. Heck, if I was collecting Empire I'd totes pay a few hundred quid for an AT-AT.
How big would a LAAT be at Legion scale?

Ah yeah, that rings a bell. Because it's owned by the Hutts. Well, that's plausible I suppose, if the TF was present almost everywhere so they had no choice but to go the opposite direction.

So Im not really bothered by fast travel all that much. I get more bothered by stuff like Kylo Ren flying a TIE/ln Fighter, which is not hyperspace capable in decades of canon and legends material, from a moon of Endor to Exegol.
When does he do that? Does he find one on the miraculously intact Death Star after Ray nicks his own ship? I think I've blotted out memory of a lot of that film. I should rewatch it.

Looking at that map I see Tatooine is in the complete opposite direction from Coruscant when setting off from Naboo. I could put Phantom Menace on to find out but can anyone remember off the top of my head why they end up going there to start with?

I dunno about that - the capital ships of the Clone Wars era tended to be somewhat more fighter oriented than in the GCW didn’t they?
A lot of people seem to expect that if there’s a Clone Wars Core Set it’ll be asymmetrical, size-wise, like the original. I’m not convinced. In the original box the asymmetry reflected that of the forces - the Empire and the Rebellion weren’t evenly matched, the Rebellion didn’t have a proper navy of dedicated warships. In the Clone Wars both sides do.
As for commanders, I predict Windu and Dooku. The logic being the Clone Wars starts with Attack of the Clones, and they’re the ones we see leading the respective forces in that film.

That is awesome! I love the droid too!
I think the fluff he comes up with around the shuttle is a bit silly though. If it’s an important means of getting cargo to and from the ship then it shouldn’t be like a mini-YT itself, it should be absolutely barebones, dedicating as much space to cargo as possible. No living quarters, no hyperdrive, no weapons. Any space on the shuttle that isn’t dedicated transport space limits the size of cargo you can bring up to the main ship.

Well I mean the whole triangular shape with distinct tops and bottoms doesn’t really make sense in 3D space, rather than on a plane. Nor do windows when screens and holograms exist. So the bridge is of course absurd.

You reckon? From what I read most people were guessing Acclimator for Core Set, which I’m guessing would mean Venator in Wave 2, and W2’s not planned till Q1 next year, so I’d guess its design isn’t set in stone yet,
I wasn’t really serious mind you, I doubt FFG care what I think (and obviously I’m going to buy a couple regardless - although I’d buy more if there were closed and open variants)! 😛

... please do the version with the big long hanger door, and do it with the doors open! That would look soooo cool, and also reflect their role as carriers (I’d happily buy a variant with the doors closed too, but I’m an idiot).

But I am also torn between "I love this ship, thank goodness I got one" and "I'm sorry for everyone else."Same here, in principle anyway. I mean I can't say it really upsets me worrying about the people who can't have one, but if I had the choice I'd make it so everyone who wants one can have one.

I don’t think that’s a big problem really. For one thing FFG has in the past played fairly loose with translations of military-power-in-lore to red dice, also there’s room in the game for support ships if appropriately costed, and like you said - they look awesome! They’re too iconic a part of the prequels for FFG to leave out I think. That said, they need to be chrome - that matt grey finish they’ve put on the N1s might look rubbish scaled up.

4 hours ago, Odanan said:I don't, unfortunately.
But let me try to guess the next Republic and CIS ships:
- Eta-2 Arctis OR Alpha-3 Nimbus V-Wing
- Droid tri-fighter OR Rogue-class starfighter
The Tri-fighter might be more iconic, but mechanically, I think the Rogue-class would add much more to the game (possibility of illicit slot and a title with cloaking). So I guess it will come earlier.
About the Eta-2 vs V-Wing, I guess the V-Wing miniature would look visually better (although the Eta-2 would have the classic jedi pilots, maybe even Yoda).
See, that's how it works. For me, half the fun in this game is to speculate what's coming next and see the new ships announcements.
I’d say the Actis (cos duh!) or a big shiny Naboo large-based ship for the Republic next, since they don’t got owt like that yet.

Ooh, pretty! I always want more Mon Cal ships.

Aah, I see! Yeah, that's one interpretation isn't it? I figured you had to pick the two cards to upgrade first, then upgrade both, so they'd have to both be in your row to start with and therefore couldn't be the same card, but it is indeed ambiguous.

It says next highest so yeah, that would be II to III but not II to IV.

I agree not shooting the escape pod was a mistake, but that's all it was - he didn't know the droids were on board, he wasn't deliberately, knowingly letting the rebels escape with the plans (as far as we know), while Leia effectively was deliberately, knowingly leading the Empire to the Rebel base. The Imperial Officer made a foolish mistake (or was an awesome Rebel mole?), Leia did a total act of sabotage against the Alliance!
