  1. The subject pretty well covers it. I do not want to tell them too few and have to wait to get the extra starters, nor do I want to tell them too many and have them order too much. Like Goldilocks, I want it to be just right.
  2. I had forgotten how slow these forums respond! It is my fault for the off topic jaunt, sorry. I'll concede that you can damage "Deploy the Fleet" multiple times with some reservations about my sanity.
  3. Actually, that was only part of the half-formed questions i had. The other involved the tournament tie breaker, in the case of both DS decks winning. It doesn't specify until the third paragraph, which details the special circumstance of a true tie. It is something that they may want to clean up.
  4. In the end, the question still stands. Is this a quote or is it your (very considered) opinion? As FFG is not willing to answer questions in the forums, there is a chance that they can answer the same question two different ways. The fewer times they are asked, the less this is likely to happen. Also, you would certainly agree that enhancements are different than actions. So I do not see how your example of Mandalorian Armor is germane. Finally, the addition of the word to the effect of "until you reach the damage capacity of this objective." is all that is needed to keep the reduction in line. I am playing the devil's advocate here. But now I am curious, if I destroy one of my objectives, does it count for me or the light side? I'll have to check the rules. :^P
  5. It is the "Reduce Cost by One" vs "Damge X times to reduce cost by X" that gives me pause. No matter how many times I reduce the cost from six to five, the end result is still five. It does not say effective cost, and cost is defined in the rulebook as the number in the right hand corner.
  6. dbmeboy said: son_of_horus said: Pretty straight-forward question here. Can a player use Deploy the Fleet multiple times to lower the cost of 1 Capital Ship? "Action: Damage this objective to reduce the cost of the next Capital Ship unit you play this phase by 1." Does using the action force you to use it now or can you use it multiples times ie. Kuat Reinforcements? The action schedules a benefit that will take effect next time you play a capital ship unit that phase. You can use the action multiple times to continue reducing the cost of that ship. You can even take other actions in between using Deploy the Fleet and playing the capital ship, as long as that action is not also playing a capital ship. dbmeboy, is this your interpertation or is this a quoted response? With all due respect, after the last FAQ, I am less inclined to agree unless it is from the proverbial "horse's mouth".
  7. I use nine-pocket pages in a three ring binder. I use two of the Plano boxes for ships, one Rebel and one Empire. The binder fits in the bag I use to carry the fleet boxes and mat. The only things that do not fit are the second YT-1300 and Firespray.
  8. As for the cost, it is suprisingly close to other board tiles I have seen. CMON charges $25 for nine tiles for Zombicide. Extrapolate that to 12 and you end up at ~$34. Add in the Star Wars fees… As for sliding around, just use a couple of strips of non-slip shelf liner to keep them in place. Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Duck-1100731-Non-Adhesive-12-Inch-20-Square-Feet/dp/B002AS9NAI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1366123078&sr=8-1&keywords=non-slip+shelf+liner You can find it cheaper and it also works for other tile games like Settlers of Catan. Certainly not where I expected them to go next, there is a market for acrylic templates, rulers and tokens. Also, they really need to have a way to replace turn dials. I have seen some that were very worn.
  9. Definitely means you want to play light side first.

To the OP, how may sets were you using? I've tried 11 to 14. Even adding one neutral objective can cause misfires. I was surprised how marked the effect was for most decks I have played. (Winning 5/6 to winning 1/3) Not really large sample sizes. Which is why I posted here. I am looking for other people's experiences both to enlarge the samples and to take "me" out of the variables. I have a limited pool of opponents and want to remove that as a variable as well. (Finally, the ratios are reduced to the lowest common denominator. I have played more than three games with each addition of of an objective with each of four deck types.)

Wondering if FFG shipped short. After an extra four months of delay for Wave 2, there is absolutely NO excuse for local shops to be getting shorted 80% of their orders. That is just plain sh*tty planning on the part of FFG. If my local shop gets shorted like this it will pretty much kill the game in my area. It's been hard keeping interest going with the delay and if people still can't get the Wave 2 ships, it's pretty much dead. Jim That is assuming that the LGS orders straight from FFG. Most go through distributor/wholesaler.
  13. Has anyone expiremented with a deck with more than ten objective sets? Were your results as disappointing as mine? I expect as more is released, mill decks and other larger decks will be more likely.
  14. Parakitor, how will you assign point costs for turrets? I am using Tie Fighters only because they have an established point cost. I did wonder about adding shield because of the lost movement.
  15. I think we will be using stationary tie fighters. We will fluff the agility roll as how effective is the distortion field at hiding the true location.
