Is it possible to slice something that doesn't have any power left? If it is, maybe the players could try slicing the main controls to find out where the ship was headed before it made a last escape and crashed on Cholganna. Maybe a secret seperatist base somewhere. Could provide some interesting exploration later on.

Currently, I'm not a fan of the rules for the three different duels.
To First Strike: the rules for this should be that any hit, whether or not it deals damage, is enough to win the duel. If I hit you upside the head with a stick, but you wear a helmet to absorb said hit, I would have still hit you, right?
To First Blood: the rules for this should be the current First Strike rules: you need to deal 1 or more damage to win.
To the Death: these rules are fine, you keep going until someone dies.

You know, I'll just give them the benefit of the doubt. A lot of people one these FFG are all doom and gloom the moment things change, especially when it's an IP they love. Take a look at the L5R RPG beta, and there's people who are calling it the worst thing ever because of things like custom dice (without even giving it a fair chance). Yes, 6 packs in 6 weeks can be a bit of a drain on your wallet, and if this turns out to be something they're going to do every 2-3 months, then yes, for some it might not be feasible to keep up. But we know nothing about their plans, other than that they're going to try out this new distribution model. So can we please just not assume the worst all the time, and actually give it some time to see what happens and then judge for yourself whether or not this is a good thing? I swear, it's just like the Phoenix going crazy over Meishodo... give the thing a try before you start shaking your fists!

    Hey all,
The background for L5R can be pretty intimidating to start into. With the upcoming LCG we already have a lot of new players interested in finding out more. I've put together an article which I hope will give new players a quick Introduction to the world of Rokugan . The goal is to keep. it simple and concise but provide the important basics.
If you are an experienced player already, I would appreciate if you had a read through. If you can see anything that could be improved, pop me a message or reply here and I'll update the article.
    Thanks,
    Bazleebub
Edit - This article is posted on Medium but also ImperialAdvisor.com, I'll continue to use both but I've changed the main link above to ImperialAdvisor.com.

I'm a fan of you guys. I just finished Season 2 and was planning to listen to the Death Star specials before I begin with Season 3, but since I'm going to run TFA myself soon, I decided to skip ahead and listen to parts 1 & 2 of the TFA review. I really liked the new group! Not that there's anything wrong with Gree, Bher and Xen, far from it, but it was really refreshing to change it up a bit (including a new setting). Hope to hear more of them in the future!

So, in preparation of running my first game of Dark Heresy soontm , I'm trying to get a better understanding of the currently known worlds and locations that are situated in the Askellon Sector. For this reason, I've begun compiling a list. I want to present this list to my players during Session 0, so we know what locations are available during character creation.
I was wondering if some of you kind folk could run through the list and see if there's anything I could add, correct, or otherwise adjust.

Note that some of these worlds are designated as Factory World, Civilised World, etc. ... This means that they don't have a designation that's currently listed as one of the available Home Worlds. (My guess is that some of these could be in new expansions, but I fear that FFG is somehow done with DH2e.... please prove me wrong, FFG!) If anyone with good knowledge of the 40k universe (which I unfortunately lack at the moment) could fill me in what Home World designation we could give these worlds instead (so my players could pick them if they so wanted), that would be a great help. For example, I assume that Ferrom (a Factory World) could be designated as a Forge World?

I've been looking through the 40k wiki, but it's not all that updated with Askellon Sector worlds.
Also, if anyone knows of other people having attempted to put together some sort of similar list like this, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance!

Edit 1: Included Gnshal Oblitia and Vaxi in the Rubicon Sub-Sector, thanks to a helpful soul on reddit.
Edit 2: Found out there's a world named Orsca, but not much else is known about is for now.
Edit 3: Found out there's a world named Hannover, but not much else is known about is for now. Also added the Rosenkreuz Cluster, as suggested by eltom13.

So this idea popped in my head, and while I know it's a longshot posting it here, I have to get it out of my system.

So you guys know about those cool two-player playmats they released for LCG's like Star Wars, Android Netrunner, A Game of Thrones 2nd Ed. and Warhammer Conquest? I really dig the quality of those. They're pretty big and you can easily roll them up and take them with you.

Wouldn't it be neat if they made one of those for the Star Wars RPG? They could just print the big galaxy map they included in the core books, or the one from the TFA Beginner Game, on a mat that size. That way, you always have a galaxy map at the ready! And if they maybe add 2 boxes for Light Side and Dark Side Destiny Points, I mean... do want, right?

All I'm saying is, I got some money ready to be thrown at that. (Just wishing out loud here.)

When Asmodee NA sent us a review copy of the new The Force Awakens Beginner Game, we were unsure what to do with it. Most people reviewed the game on the content of the box which didn't seem complete to me. This product is meant as a starting point for new players to get into FFGs Star Wars RPG, and I feel that is how it should be reviewed. So that is what we did. I assembled a bunch of new players (some d20 veterans, some completely new) and set out to review the actual play of the TFA beginner box. Here is our  experiment:

Anyway, I believe they want to give players more of a tabletop RPG feeling, instead of an actual board game. I think it's actually pretty neat that you don't know where everything is. Adds to the creepy vibe of being in a spooky mansion.

I own the original Mansions of Madness, the Forbidden Alchemy and the Call of the Wild expanions... and I haven't played any of them yet! To be honest, when I first saw the announcement of this 2nd Edition, I was afraid I had wasted money on a game I hadn't even played yet. But then I started looking more into this new version, and the more I read about it, the more I actually want it. Heck, I believe this 2nd edition could finally be the trigger to start playing the game, and most of my 1st Edition stuff can still be used!

The more I'm thinking about it, the more I'm inclined to forget about Warhammer and just focus on Arkham Horror LCG. I hope GenCon will solidify that thought.

I'm also hoping the LCG allows for item purchases between missions, like Warhammer does. I like the idea of slowly outfitting my character during play. Seeing that they have the ability to equip items, I'm positively excited.
