Sneaky Scorpions, they're throwing shade everywhere just so they have more places to hide.

It probably has a lot to do with the fact that the Shinomen forest is a dangerous place full of ghosts and such. So no clan really tries to claim it. So that's why the Scorpion don't try to expand further south.
The Crab are kind of focused on protecting against the Shadowlands, so they don't try to expand any further north as doing so would mean diverting forces away from their defense.
And while the Unicorn could try to claim it, it is likely they are spread kind of thin as it already is and they are under almost constant threat of the Lion trying to take what lands they have again.
So it is possible that just naturally no Great Clan whose lands border on that area are able to expand into that area.
But, if they ever decide to add a 10th Kami into the setting and give him is own clan, they have a nice area right there for his clan to claim.

Veruca got a reaction from JSM3050 in Terrinoth adversary decks
If they're the same size as the adversary cards for Star Wars, which I'm assuming they are, you'll want the grey sleeves. Or any other type that fits LCG sized cards.

Alright, glad to see my guess was correct. ?
Thank you for all the effort you've already put into this, it's greatly appreciated. If I can assist you in any way (if my skills allow it), I'd gladly help you out.

Yeah, it's part of Melee (Light). I did have this outlined in the book, but somewhere in the editing process the write up got eaten.
For what it's worth here's what the book used to say. I'll fix it up when I get around to releasing a new version of the PDf. Definitely been dragging my feet on that, but I do plan to get into it now, I've got a list of everything I want to include.
"Melee (Light) operates as described on page 68 of the Genesys Core Rulebook. The only
difference is that in Dark Heresy, Melee (Light) also governs unarmed brawling attacks,
replacing the Brawl skill from page 67 of the Genesys Core Rulebook."

Yes, but on the Wiki you also have a description and a picture of a monster

The As a start, I listed all of the creatures and units (but no individual characters like Splig) to be found in Descent, Battlelore 2nd edition, Rune Age and Runewars.
For each unit that had a direct correspondence, I listed the page number in the Genesys books. For some I suggested some possible correspondences (some more straightforward than others).
I also list what source they come from (with Descent being the default, BL being battlelore, RA Rune Age, RW Rune Wars).
I left out clear duplicates (i.e. things that are present with different names in different games, like Troll from descent and Giant Troll from RuneWars, who share the same art from 1st edition descent) and super generic units (Dwarf Forger and Elven Warrior come to mind).
the link with (for now) just the list is at https://www.dropbox.com/s/fcq85f6j8g7iyc1/Terrinoth Bestiary WIP.docx?dl=0
which I also try to attach to this thread.
the next step, beside individual creatures, would be to get a guideline for wound and attack conversion from descent to Genesys. Are wounds 1 to 1? I suspect that’s the case for act II monsters, but I have made no comparative analysis yet.

That would be great. I’d be glad to help with the stat out, or with the listing.
(Beside descent, Rune age has a few interesting figures from different races and lands)

Veruca got a reaction from Armoks in Creating a Terrinoth Bestiary
I'm starting a Terrinoth campaign, and while the book comes with its own list of adversaries, I want more. I was curious if people might help me with this, or could point me in the right direction. I want to start by making a list of every enemy that's been present in the other games like Descent, Runebound, etc. ... When I've got the list, I can cross off any creature that has stats in the Genesys sourcebook, and then try to stat all the ones that are left. For example, I know that Descent has Ettins, but there are no Ettins in the sourcebook, so that would be a creature for me to stat out. I don't know if anyone has done this already, but it's a little project I want to do to give me more options during my campaign.
So, if possible, could you maybe reply with what adveraries are available in the other Terrinoth games? Thanks in advance!

I was stoked for W&G, but then for some reason I lost interest the closer we came to release. I might give it a try, but for now our group has made the transition for DH2e to this Genesys conversion.

Veruca reacted to DanGers in Beginners Game questions and clarifications
We ran through the adventure on Saturday and here's what I did. The adventure book says that the challenges are just rolls against a given TN, not opposed rolls. That seemed a little weird for the sumai challenge, but I didn't want to slow things down or have to explain opposed roles so early in the game so I had Yuikimi, the reigning champion give all the contestants a little talk during the scene where she is there to answer questions about the tournament. I had her say something like "listen guys, I know its a competition, but you're all in this together. Some of the events are competitive, but the judges are also going to judge you on style and form". Then, when the sumai challenge came up, I paired up the PCs with NPCs and had them roll against target number the book calls for. Then I narrated the bout. If they met the check, they beat their opponent, but that opponent might have also gotten a point because the judge liked their form or something.
Regarding Hitoshi needing to win the archery contest, this gave the players a chance to encourage him before he took his shot. Of course, it was their encouragement that helped him do so well, not whatever the book says. At least one player then held back dice on their rounds so they would succeed, but not beat Hitoshi.

Veruca got a reaction from Flobio in I bought it!
I just spent the past couple of days going through the first 2 chapters of the book, and I must admit... it's got me interested in the lore. I picked up the book because I love the Genesys system, and after playing sci-fi games for many years, I had an urge to play a fantasy game. Terrinoth has always been a bland fantasy setting to me, but with the book fleshing out the lore, I thought I'd give it a try. Although I'm still questioning some of the name choices for characters and locations (Llovar being perhaps the least fear-inducing name for a villain, and what's up with the Soulstone lineage?), I did enjoy the story.

I guess the Unicorn's features are to show the mixed heritage they have because of their time spent in gaijin lands.

Yeah, I've been strongly considering merging the core and the expansion. Probably for a big 2.0 release with some rules improvements, it's likely gonna be a big job if I do it. The Liber Heresius content feels less like expansion material and more like core material, and I'd like to have the Influence and Subtlety systems baked into the core book so it's no an awkward mess referencing them in future expansions.
Thanks for the typo corrections, I'll get that fixed up in the next release.
