Hi, in the description about the General Weiss Villain Pack it says that you can construct the Miniature either as a standard AT-ST or as General Weiss. http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite_sec.asp?eidm=271&esem=2&esum=267 Now, maybe this is a trivial question, but still, I'd like to know if anyone knows for sure, if the expansion pack will contain an additional deployment card for a standard AT-ST, since you will need one, if you want to deploy two of them and you are not allowed to deploy two unique characters. It does not say so in the description. Therefore I am uncertain. But I mean, why would they include pieces to assemble a standard AT-ST but not an additional deployment card for a standard AT-ST?
  2. I am looking forward to it. I am sure it will be a very good campaign. And it certainly gives us more replayability. I like this darker and more threatening atmosphere. It calls for real Heroes instead of some cartoon figures.
  3. I agree with Ewok Glider (on stand) Bantha Tauntaun Dewback Rancor Wampa But honestly, I don't think they will release any of the large vehicles, you listed. I think they are cool, but I don't think it makes much sense in this game. first of all they are simply too large. the map is not even large enough to hold such vehicles. and second they'd be too powerful. It is much more likely that they will make missions on or inside of these vehicles, but then they will be represented with the map itself, but not as a miniature. And a snow speeder on a stand? not very likely. It simply does not work with the game mechanics. too fast, too powerful. movement speed 50? but I guess there are already some ideas to fill the next couple of expansions.
  4. Hi, I was thinking about possible large minis in future expansions. The AT-ST in the base game is obviously pretty cool. But I had difficulties to think of equally cool large creatures from the star wars universe, which could be included in future expansions, which would also make sense game mechanically speaking. obviously, there are hundreds of flying vehicles in Star Wars, but those wouldn't make much sense in this game, since it is happening on the ground. Vehicles like the AT-AT are awesome, but definitely too large for this game. The speeder bike would be the perfect size, but honestly too fast. it would have to have a movement value of 20 or so, which is also not very meaningful in this game. one monster I think is a MUST HAVE in a future expansion is the Rancor. It would be a perfect 6-square miniature (see link): http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120715031131/starwars/images/6/6c/Rancor.jpg Can you think of other Star Wars vehicles or creatures that would be perfect for a 4- or 6-square miniature? Please post your ideas and wishes. I am curious.
  5. that would actually work game mechanics wise. But if they must copy beloved franchises, let them copy Lord of the Rings as well. I wouldn't mind a LotR Descent game. With Imperial Assault there'd be SciFi and Fantasy. That would be awesome. A LotR Battlelore would also work great. Twilight Imperium would probably not work. there are too many unique races and it would not fit thematically since all races start out the same. in Star Wars the Empire outnumbers the rebels etc.

  7. at first I was kind of shocked that they release a game that is basically a copy of descent, but then I wanted to have it. then I was shocked that they already announced 7 figure packs, but then I wanted to have them. I preordered the whole collection just a moment ago anyway, BUT I think it would be much better for everyone if they released these mini expansions on a monthly basis. this way many people would be looking forward to add just a little bit more to their favorite game and it would not hurt as much as spending all that money at once. even though you would end up spending a lot of money anyway, I think the feeling would be different and less people would be so "shocked" or "turned off".
  8. I'm just saying it would have been nice, if they made everything consistent. it adds a lot to the atmosphere of a game imo. but whatever, I preordered everything anyway ^^
  9. yeah, I am aware of that. But nevertheless. Any Video Game or movie on the market was designed by a wide range of artists, and nevertheless all of them are consistent. In fact, if they were not consistent these movies or games would seem very strange to the customers. And that's what I am saying. The artwork in this game seems strangely inconsistent to me. And if they are recycling the Artwork, too, I wonder how they justify the price. I mean, what isn't recycled in this game?! The game is a 90% copy of Descent and the artwork is recycled, too?
  10. Hi, does anyone else think that the Artwork in this game is inconsistent? What I mean specifically is that the Artwork on the Hero Sheets is very cartoon-ish like in Descent, whereas the Artwork on the Cards looks more realistic, very much like in Star Wars: The Card Game. I would have preferred the same realistic style on the Hero Sheets. The cartoon-ish style looks a little bit too childish for my taste, much like those animated series. I wonder why they chose such inconsistent Design.
  11. even though you are right and it is not the end of the world, it seems all of us are able to rephrase those cards without the slightest of effort. so why is FFG not doing it properly to begin with? this game is going to be pretty expensive and I kind of want it to be good. someone should read through those cards and rephrase those where it is necessary. the side missions will very likely work like the rumor cards in descent. if so, they will be put in the common play area. those missions or quests are simply another available quest to choose from, when choosing the next quest. if they do indeed work like in descent, then there is no real timing issue and the card should read "If..."

I hope they change that card and any other card that may be written that way. it simply sounds weird and makes no sense at all. the mini is neither reading nor playing the card. I honestly wonder who would phrase something like that. another text I think could have been better is on this page: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_npm_sec.asp?eidm=257&esem=1 The "Binary Revolution" Card says: "After Rebels resolve any other side mission, discard this card and receive the reward listed below." shouldn't it be "IF THE Rebels resolve any..." 1) I believe it should be "If". "After" kind of presupposes that they do and I don't think that's what's meant here. After all the card itself is a side mission, which the player can choose to play. 2) "The" Rebels, no? and another example: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=5112 The "Stormtrooper" card says "While attacking, while adjacent..." It is not wrong, but it sounds like someone else isn't a native speaker. Why does it not simply say "WHEN attacking, while adjacent..." It sounds better and definitely has the same meaning. Its not like you will reroll your die mid-throw. There are already 3 cards in the previews alone that sound weird. who know how many there are that are plain ambiguous or stupid. I think they should proof-read their stuff and rework things like these. I mean I am not even a native speaker and it bugs me.

Your player claims the initiative token and he must activate you first this round." Is this card actually talking to the miniature itself?! Does "your player" refer to me?! If so, why does the card not simply say: "Claim the initiative token. If you do, you must activate Han Solo first this round." ... or something like that. It is me, who is reading the card after all, not the miniature. If this card means something else, please inform me. For me personally the wording should be simple, but precise without any unnecessary complexity or confusion. btw, I am not a native speaker, so maybe I am simply not familiar with this kind of description.
  14. No, it is not necessary to have more influence than both your neighbors combined, at least not in the Stage I Objective Card. Because, there is a similar Stage II Objective Card, which specifically says that you need more influence than both your neighbors combined. So that should be clear.
  15. No, not really since not all planets have the same amount of Influence. You might control, say 6 resource heavy planets with a total of 5 Influence while your neighbour (A) only has 5 planets but with a total of 9 Influence. In this case you'd have a long way to go towards fulfillment of said objective. However if your neighbours neighbour (B) has 4 planets with only 3 or less Influence total then Neighbour A could claim the objective even if he has fewer planets since he has more Influence. oh yeah, you are right. The wording is not "...more planets...", it is "...more influence..." That's how we played it, anyway. A quick example for clarification: Player A has 5 planets with 1 Influence each (= 5 Influence in total) Player B has 4 planets with 2 Influence each (= 8 Influence in total) Player C has 3 planets with 3 Influence each (= 9 Influence in total) Player C will fulfill the Objective since he has the most total Influence, even though he has less planets in total. However, my initial question was whether all planets count, i.e. exhausted and unexhausted? Since planet cards are refreshed after the objective step and during voting for instance, only your unexhausted planets provide their Influence, we thought, there is the possibility that only your unexhausted planets count toward that Objective. And that is what I wanted to say with what you quoted. I do control them no matter whether they are exhausted or unexhausted. In that case player C would fulfill the Objective even if all of his planets are exhausted. I hope everything is correct now.
