According to this page http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=4607 the regional tournament season runs from May 1st to July 31.
The Transport was released April 30th, the non epic cards should be legal.

So, if I went into every round declaring I was going to use Marksmanship (just in case), and then followed through with the above, I should be ok though correct?
Edit - As you can tell, I've purchased faster than I've had a chance to actually play..
Yes
And the attack generated by Gunner doesn't have to be at the same target as your original attack.

Krassis w/ HLC, Recon Specialist & Seismic Charge
4 Obsidian Pilots or 3 Academy Pilots & Dark Curse
Or run Tie swarms
Agility 1 ships get eaten alive by tie swarms

I always thought that if you took damage from anything then you lost SD, but I guess its just me...
No, the card specifies that you have to be hit by an attack, both of which are defined terms in the game, not take damage.
In fact, not only can you take damage without loosing your SD, it is also possible to be hit and loose it without taking any damage at all (from a Draw their Fire or soon, Lt. Blount)
Doesn't draw their fire let the targeted ship keep it's stealth device? I have seen this used a number of times. Wedge with DtF flies next to Biggs with SD and R2-F2. If one crit gets through, Wedge can pull it to himself, allowing Biggs to stay up longer and keep his SD.
This isn't legal?
The targeted ship is still hit, it just doesn't suffer the damage and you loose the SD when you are hit.
But a ship with DtF can suffer the crit and keep the SD.

Page 4, right column under "Legal Products", first paragraph. No, I thought I remembered another part that specifically mentioned a list of stuff that was temporarily banned. Maybe its the paint fumes.
FFG listed what was tournament legal in the previous tournament rules document.
-
So, is there a banned list ATM? Are imperial aces legal for games using the official tourney rules now?
For competitive play, only the TIE Advanced is banned.
Just kidding. I don't see any "banned list" anywhere. I would think they have to publicize that, and they would only do it if there is a major release in the middle of the next round of tournaments. For example, if Wave 4 is miraculously released before the end of Regionals (or even if it isn't there will be promo copies of the expansions out there from the Imdaar event) they will ban them temporarily I think.
From the Tournament Rules
All Star Wars: X-Wing™ Miniatures Game components are legal for sanctioned play unless they are marked with the epic icon (ships with the epic icon ( ) next to the card title on the Ship card can be fielded only in Epic Play), or temporarily banned from tournament play (such as when a product is released in the midst of a tournament season).
So Aces should not be allowed in any remaining store championships.

Well then perhaps I am raising much ado about nothing. I figured being a small market out here in Eastern Canada was screwing us.
Ahh well, thanks for the heads up all! Much appreciated!
Something else to consider is how involved is this store in the gaming community. I don't mind paying a few dollars more for a ship because I'm playing in the store every week either for fun or in a league (which the store does provide the prizes).
-
For what it is worth, the small fighters are sold at $20 CAD, while the starter is sold at $50 CAD.
It is really quite frustrating
If it makes you feel better, the store I play at charges about those prices too. There are 2 stores in a mall close by that sells their X-wing minis for more than that.

Isn't that the implied thought with 'card effect'
Implied is a dangerous word to use when interpreting rules, as it is a statement of subjectivity.
Look at it another way - Boost or Barrel roll are both covered on rule cards, right? Is anyone arguing that they are not covered under the rule about 'card effects' only being allowed once per trigger?
But Fire Control System and Gunner allow you to target lock the same ship multiple times.

Has anyone questioned if Keyan Farlander can spend a stress and flip over no eyes.

(2) Post-Wave 3, I think Firesprays should always be run with either Recon Specialist or Rebel Captive unless you absolutely can't find a way to afford it. Either choice adds just a crazy amount of staying power.
I agree with this and i personally prefer the Recon Specialist.

One of my local stores is suppose to get a small order of Advanced Ties & Y-Wings in this week. So they might make an appearance soon.
