  1. Why don't you try playing a game AS written in the rules and see how pointless it is. You wont know for sure until you do. If you are the GM then let the players make their characters the way they want, don't alter the rules to suit them or to give you an upper hand on them just throw more npc's at them.
  2. sounds good for a kids game but wouldn't it also drag out combat a little.
  3. head over here http://triumphdespair.wordpress.com/ there is something what you are looking for it is listed as two different things EOTE alphabet and the alphabet ebook. they are one in the same just different medias.
  4. Personally I don't see a problem with this talent. also it may also show up in future talent trees as well. making it oh so much worth it. remember this only the first of three core books out that will all be compatible with each other.
  5. Which do you think that blaster bolt is going to penetrate better? The sheet or the brick wall? If you you are hiding that is concealment not cover and you are not in combat. Honestly all I see here is a power gamer. . .
  6. As a GM I would suggest ruling against that. The spirit of the talent is to build up your PC to where they can be a bad a__. Not start off as one. All this is done for the cost of one maneuver and the strain, then you take your aim maneuver and add boost die. Do you really want to make it easy for the PC's, or help them challenge up the ladder of being a bad a__.
  7. Precise aim page 141 reads Once per round on the character's turn, the character may perform a precise aim maneuver before attempting a combat check and suffer a number of strain. The number of strain cannot exceed his ranks in precise aim. He then decreases the targets defense (ranged and melee) by one per strain suffered for that combat check. There is nothing here about removing setback dice and I don't see how this can be mor explanatory than it is.
  8. My suggestion is that if you are going to make your own . . . Get permission from the artists for their work. There are a lot of small time people out there that do star wars art and would just like recognition for it. They also work on commission. Try checking out the star wars artist guild. Also if you want to make your own go to a craft store. You can get little wooden discs that are same size of the tokens and you can put whatever you like on them. Anywhere from just words to artwork glued down on them. I did this a long time ago while playing pathfinder because we didn't have the money to invest in minis at the time. Anyways that's my advice.
  9. I agree with this idea since the cargo module were intended to be modular in the beginning. And this makes more sense. Altogether tho what wold the total silhouette of the ship be counted as?
  10. This is actually a good talent. Take a good look at the complete wording on page 141 of the core book.
  11. if you look close the wookie's look like they are the offspring of yoda. and one character looks alot like George himself.
  12. Oh, it specifically states you can have a 2 x Aim? I guess I missed that. It has to be consecutive maneuvers though, so does that mean I can make a maneuver now to Aim, and then on my next turn make my first maneuver another Aim (assuming I didn't take damage during that time)? Would that count? yes the formula for that would be as follows . . . Free maneuver (aim), then action (shoot or attack) =1 boost die on next roll, take 2 strain 2nd maneuver (aim) end turn. next turn no damage taken use free maneuver (aim), then action (shoot or attack) = 2 boost die on next roll. This is where it would get tricky for the players and gm. I would as a gm want specifics on the aim. Say in the combat you have two groups of storm troopers coming at you from different directions, and your pinned down. If you shoot at the first one and don't kill them all and them aim again and the next player kills them off, I would make your aim void unless you stated you are aiming at the 2nd group that is undamaged. Does that make any sense because I know it does in my head. Yes, perfect sense thank you. Last question I have...is 2 the max for aim? Or could you keep taking Aim maneuvers? 2 is the max for aiming but you can get boost die other ways as well.
  13. It would really be great if they could pin this at the top instead of having to look for it all the time.

  15. this is the way i see it. . . On page 31 under "STRAIN THRESHOLD" it states that strain represents psychological or mental "damage". On page 201 under "AIM" it states. . . any damage that exceeds the character's soak also negates the benefit of aiming. therefore I am thinking it is in the context of physical damage. It also states that if the caharacter spends two consecutive maneuvers aiming, he gets 2 boost die on the next combat check. So the formula is like this, and correct me if this is wrong, please. Free maneuver (aim), then action (shoot or attack) =1 boost die on roll. Free maneuver (aim), Spend two strain 2nd maneuver (aim), then action (shoot or attack) =2 boost die on roll.
  16. I really don't think we will have to worry about it.
  17. Just to let you in on the know. . . There are rules for sabacc. They are in the free RPG day module "Shadows of the Black Sun". Enjoy!
  18. Good to know. Have yet to open the adventure yet still reading the core book?
  19. If you are worried about a tie breaker you can always use alphabetical order of the obligation type. That's what I am doing.
  20. Before reading it the cover made me think we might be getting a new race and I dropped my bamboo. I love this game and what they are doing. Most of all I love the artwork they are producing. I am hoping for an artbook release in the foreseeable future.
  21. With this in mind I suggest making her a young adult like mid teens. This will help develope her as he other two core books come out and she can age along with the stories told and become the person she is meant to be.
  22. Go to wookieepedia and type in yv-666 in the search bar it comes up with yv-666 light freighter. the Hound's tooth is just the name of a characters modified yv-666.
  23. on wookieepedia try looking up hound's tooth it will give you better info than just looking up yv-666. Although I am not understanding why your players would want to downgrade to that ship. The yv-666 is in actuality a light freighter not a medium freighter. according to Wookieepedia you are downgrading. 220metric tons of cargo capacity(wayfarer) versus 20 metric tons of cagrgo capacity(yv-666) Thats just my opinion tho...
