  1. I would have to say....yes However if you set up a really fancy Skype conference we might be able to make an exception
  2. That's because it is the learning to play scenario using ONLY a SINGLE core set, so there is only 1 damage deck, Tournaments will still require both players to bring there own most likely I have no doubt tournament rules will require each player to BRING their own damage deck, however based on the rules it looks like both players will be pulling cards from the same deck. Based on point 7 in the Complete Setup (page 23) I'd also say that you are playing from a single Damage Deck: Prepare Other Components: Shuffle the damage deck and place it next to the play area along with the command tokens, maneuver tool, range ruler, and the round token marked “1.”
  3. If initiative is important/pivotal for your fleet/strategy then you might consider doing a serious bid for initiative. However that will mean that it is one of your opponent's missions you will be playing
  4. That is a awesome idea! Something like this?? https://m.facebook.com/mechworld.de/posts/1071792202846974
  5. I've mentioned it many times elsewhere: don't sweat it too much. The LtP is simply made and set up in order to get people experiencing battle and roll dice and thereby learn the rules. It is not balanced, just take a look at the points each side are bringing to the battle
  6. And a bit further down they go bonkers: Of course, you don’t have to spend your command tokens at the same time you reveal a similar command from the dial. You can spend a command token at any time you could resolve the command from your dial, and if your ship has a high enough command value, you could spend several tokens in a single round, potentially activating a squadron, repairing your shields, and rerolling an attack die – all in the same round that you reveal a navigate command on your dial to adjust your speed and course.
  7. Found it: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2014/9/26/command-your-fleet-to-victory/ About halfway down In the Ship Phase, the Rebel player reveals the concentrate fire command for his CR90 corvette. It attacks from its forward arc for two red dice and one blue die. After rolling these dice, the player decides to spend the ship’s concentrate fire command to add a third red die. He rolls a blank, but because the ship happens to have a concentrate fire token, he can spend it to reroll the die. He does, and it generates another two hits!
  8. Yes. It's shown in one of their examples somewhere
  9. Revealing the dial is a mandatory step (unless you are forced to discard it without revealing it) and is also one (or the only?) way to track whether or not a given have been activated since an unactivated ship should always have the number of dials assigned to it equal to its command level
  10. Check out the "How to" videos I recall that you should copy the link and insert it into the "load plugin"'ish field
  11. The way we've played it is that if it was i.e. an repair and the ship was at full shield then it immediately was spent for a Repair token. However when we came in firing distance then we played it as follows (which might be incorrect) Concentrate Fire: the player revealed the dial. Then he chose a target rolled dice and then (at the appropriate time) decided to either spend it to gain an additional dice or if he would rather spend it to gain a token instead depending on the dice roll Similar for the other commands
  12. For the LCG we have several local and a "National" FB group running. Luckily Denmark is quite small so we can all fairly easy get across the country for SC and Regiknals and such. And we organize/coordinate dates etc. a thing I've enjoyed is always packing a couple of decks when o go on Holiday and/or business trips and then try to set up a friendly game when I arrive. This Monday I'm off to three days of training and we've managed to set up a small tourney at the FLGS in that city. So go out and try to stir things/interest up and I'm sure good things will happen. Good luck
  13. I will put in my two cents worth: Adjacent Hull zones will suffer 1 Damage each. If the zones have shields the damage will "be taken on the shield" and decrease them by 1 each. If an adjacent zone does not have shield the damage will be dealt as a facedown damage card and if neither have shields it will be 2 damage cards
  14. Thx you guys. It actually means a lot to read that. It has been my absolute delight and pleasure to have had the good fortune/opportunity bestowed upon me and what else to do than share it (while trying not to be too flashy). It's been fun and good to witness your interest and, as best as possible, to answer your questions, big and small. Basically I feel "blessed" (big word from an atheist) overall with all the good times and nice acquaintances and experiences I've had since I dove head first into FFG's Star Wars X-Wing which lead me to start the Copenhagen X-Wings (now counting 200+ FB members), which lead to a lot of tournaments (including a Regional win), then the LCG followed by Imperial Assault and now the big pleasure to have tried Armada IRL and share/demo it with you. The last is also very much thanks to the cooperation and help from BlasterBo (the guy who did the actual review): we are the "evil masterminds" behind the big Star Wars demo day this upcoming Saturday where we are demo'ing the four Star Wars games mentioned above at the local board game cafe in collaboration from 2 FLGS combined. And it was this that led the Nordic distributor to fly in the copies we have played with and also the unopened core set that will be put up for random (VERY) lucky draw during the demo day. They are actually also putting up core sets for the other 3 games, so we know that 4 people will be getting an extra enjoyable Saturday, one maybe just a little bit more than the others. So once again thx for the words and the time. And thx for making my tread the most replied and viewed Armada tread, at least for a while. May the Force be with you
  15. I downloaded 2 files; The Learn to Play guide, and the Rules Reference. I can't find the Rules Reference link?
  16. Nice. Where did U find them? (obviously in the link)
  17. All the symbols are here: https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/135517-first-game-really-fun-and-learned-a-lot/?p=1488547 Nav Team is a Support Team
  18. I can't say anything about the Assault Frigate. I only have the Core set and no further inside knowledge
  19. Aber Danish ist nicht so schwer. mindestens sprachen wir als ziemlich schön und wir haben nicht Jar-Jar überhaupt erwähnen
  20. I'm still available for questions if anyone has something. I will still have access to the game at least until Saturday after which I'll be handing it back to the distributor :-(
  21. Yes indeed. And from memory I don't think it may equip the Nav Team (which allows you to change any command dial (before you reveal it) to a Nav or Repair command)
  22. I couldn't agree more: When I initially picked up X-Wing (which lead to LCG, Imperial Assault and now also Armada) it was after couple of FLGS's ran the "Kessel Run" events. This gave me the idea of starting a gaming group for X-Wing. I had idea what it should be/become or anything planned for it. But it immediately took off: we got a good contact in one of the stores and got set up with a weekly game night in their store (and since then another shop houses us on another weekday). When they saw that we were a nice little community they even offered us up to 20% discount on pre-orders, they've provided gaming mats and paintedboads, they have let us arrange A LOT of tournaments (as long as we tells them to get the kits and we provide TO, and run the tourneys) and so on and so on. Similar, but on a smaller scale have been set up with the LCG, and on Saturday our group is running a huge FFG Star Wars game demo day at a local boardgame cafe. Ohh, and we've even had a copy of the Armada to play with to practice the demo, and the regional distributor will be giving out a core set for each of the 4 SW games up for give away on the day. I am not saying that the same or similar would be possible in your area, but don't just sit down and wait for things to happen or come to you: make it happen, help generate interest by offering to do demo or something and suddenly stuff will happen. I hope it will change and become better. And though I am just as impatient as the next guy for new stuff to come out I do at the same time believe that there is so much fun to be had with the cards we already have, so really no excuse for not having some good times while we wait. Keep calm, and carry on playing. :-)
