  1. But that's just how firing arcs "work" bothe here and in X-Wing: an enemy's ship/squad might be within rang but is also has to be in arc. No surprises there IMO
  2. Just a heads up: this will most likely happen on Friday 17th of August. The 1st prize will "just" be an bye for Worlds, not including the flight/stay:-(
  3. Another important point: The two sides colored token is not an indicator for or of which player has Initiative: Player 1 is always the player with Initiative and keeps it throughout the game in each round. The token is "just" meant as an aid to check when/if all squadrons have been activated: in a "Blue round" all squadrons start out wiling the Blue tab showing and when activated the Red tab is pushed out. At the end of the round all squadrons will be showing a Red tab and then the token is flipped and we are ready for next round which will be a "Red round"
  4. Of course you MUST activate first 1 squadron and then a second squadron if able. No need for a ruling IMO. Otherwise your opponent will simply do the same and "wait out" and then it will go back and forth
  5. I am willing to stick my neck out here: I sort of understand what you are saying and you would/could be totally right IF everybody is or would be playing "in accordance" with the "decided" meta. However as long as someone (1 or more) keep trying new stuff or ways (like new mutations within the available card pool) then you WILL see down n/strange things happen. Just tonight I had a game that was won on what would the penultimate round if my opponent hadn't flupped Luke. And take a hard loom at the deck and not least the games that won the 2014 World Championship 2014 Anyways:'I live the LCG pod building mechanics and hopefully more will see the light. take care and have fun Niko
  6. 1) put chin gun on table egde 2) put canopy of AT-ST on top of chin gun 3) apply firm pressure down on canopy until gun pops on
  7. And then I've bought a Feldherr backpack for the minifies themselves
  8. I've done a foam core insert. Have been promising to do the actual guide with (rough) measurements for way too long, but will do a write up soon. Promise
  9. Not only will I (unjustly) be disappointed when I see that a "jet pack on full afterburner" flying Boba isn't included as a minifig, but I'll be even more disappointed or even right out angry when i realize that the box is also severely lacking in the "exploding tower" department. (Sarcasm might have been added)
  10. First you must unlearn.....you know the drill. I am not saying if either or the other is "more correct" but if people are bringing a Magic or similar deck building frame of mind to this game it is a sure path to disappointment and frustration. I am not saying it's perfect but it's certainly different than other games and that's it! Like or leave it. Feel free to debate it but if you had free pickings between all cards without "the bad ones" then it would be a totally different game. And even the "worst" card has a purpose as a bluff in an edge or similar. Maybe the game simply isn't meant to appeal to all?
  11. What Johnnyb815 said People wanting to buy a boba fett toy will pay 40$ for a large box, instead of 10$ for the smaller box also featuring him on the cover? Also ... 40$ for a small plastic figure .. I think you are streching here. Are you talking to me? I basically just agreed with Johnnyb815 (the reply prior to mine) who said that it made fine/more sense to have the minifig of Boba in a separate blister than having him in the more expensive de luxe expansion (which would "force" people who just wanted him but not the rest) I think that we are agreeing. I am certainly 100% positive and in favor of the way they've decided to do things
  12. And him being 8 I would agree, there's a bit lost there because it is a lot to take on at once, and he is young. He can make it through 90 minute sessions without losing interest though. After another year or so I think he will be pretty phenomenal. I think it's easier for them to grasp or stay interested because of the dynamics and you physically have something to move the act of rolling dice and then the challenge of strategy involved. I originally grabbed it because of my love for the SWU. I'm a bit of a junkie when it comes to that. This is my first mini game ever and so far it's been an extremely enjoyable success for us. Even for an adult it can get pretty gutting/gruesome twitch your fleet get annihilated inArmada due to a single wrong maneuver ;-) And the +14 age they put on the box/description is fair, with exceptions. So give it a year or so more with X-Wings or try Armada with him in small doses and see how it goes Best of luck

  15. I'd say it might be quite the mouthful for a kid. However, just like X-Wing he'd proba or likely be able to enjoy it if just played casually. When I demoed the game last Saturdy a couple of 10-12 year olds tried it but it seemed a bit difficult to keep them focused. So possible, but not exactly "suitable" IMO
  16. Thx for all the interest. It's been a delight to share my experience with you. I hope some of you will share YOUR first game experiences in here too. Things are finally happening for real, and even with a Wave 2 announcement to top it all off
