  1. From the FAQ: The first sentence of “Reach” on page 21 should read: “A figure with this keyword may perform P (melee) attacks that target figures or objects up to 2 spaces away.”

  3. And the Evade token "effect" is range dependent: Long Range: Cancel 1 dice Medium Range: Choose a dice to be rerolled Close Range: No effect
  4. We've taken it one step further...... That's one way to replace the one straight template Actually closer to a 1 Soft Bank
  5. pics or it didn't happen Don't be lazy. Put in the DVDs, vhs, or laserdisc in the respective player and look. Also the movie came out almost four decades ago, there are sufficient 'pics'. Wow wow there. Just seemed like a legit/fair request (to another person) that had seemingly had the pics/sequence "at hand".
  6. Since premeasuring is allowed then just either don't click on the 3rd joint or click it to the right instead. That would have a twofold effect: 1) Ensure that the ships rear part stays in the play area and 2) Make the illustrated movement tool placement legal Once you put the tool in the notches of your ship base, you are committed to that position. You cannot adjust it further. True, and agree. But you may put down the movement tool and adjust it BEFORE committing to that maneuver and moving the shipmodel Correct, it just has to be a little off from your base. Once it engages the base you are set. Also, I wouldn't let my opponent get it microscopically close and try and argue he was following the rule. Make your estimation and go. The exact quote from the Rules Reference page 11 is: "The maneuver tool can be placed on the play area and manipulated freely during the “Determine Course” step. " Yes, however there are also these quotes... Page 9 of the Rules Reference book, under Premeasuring: "The maneuver tool can be placed and adjusted freely during the "Determine Course" step of executing a maneuver to assist in determining a course. A ship is not committed to a course until the guides of the maneuver tool are inserted into the ship's base." Then just above the bullet point you posted on page 11: "After the maneuver tool's guides are inserted into the ship, the joints of the tool cannot be adjusted." Finally, the tournament rules say: "After the maneuver tool’s guides are inserted into a ship, the joints of the tool cannot be adjusted. The maneuver tool’s guides are considered to be inserted into the ship when the side of the maneuver tool is parallel to the ship’s base and both base and tool are touching. If a player believes his or her opponent is abusing movement pre-measuring he or she can request that a judge observe the match." If my opponent is taking time to put the tool as close as physically possible without them touching, lining it up, etc, I would consider that abusing the pre-measuring rule. In a friendly game I would request they stop. In a tournament I would call the TO/judge over. Listen, we are actually in agreement here. I'm totally with you and thank you for the added quotes. My omissions of the same quotes was not meant to imply that I'd sanction insert of the tool etc. etc
  7. A more accurate subtitle for the video here in Denmark would be "Sold Out Now!!" Good thing is that there will be people to play/battle with when I get a copy. Ironic, isn't it? That the guys who did the demo and some of the first hands-on review ended up Armada-less

  9. Still doesn't help here. The venue has no playmats, no local shops have FFG playmats, and no players I know are willing to pay P&P and customs for FFG mats when they already have perfectly decent third party ones. Just think a bit creatively: If you (the players) hand over/lend your mats to the TO before the event, then the TO can put the mats out on the tables and technically it is the TO/shop who is providing the mats. From there on it is totally randomized who will play against and where on which mat. Problem solved

  12. Pre-measuring is already "banned" and I'd certainly not allow any of my opponents to measure with fingers, knuckles or other body parts

Where is your reference for the banned magnetized B-Wing cockpits?

  15. Actually I think doing it correctly (by placing it on the other side) would very likely put the rear of the ship base outside since it would be displaced a it more downwards and to the right in the images Anyways like others have voiced I would agree that it is only the starting and ending positions that matter (like in X-Wing). Nowhere in the rules is it said that you move the ship along the ruler. The closest thing to doing this is the overlapping rules and even that situation is handled (and has similar precedence) as in X-Wing
  16. Same experience here, but I've said it other treads: don't sweat it. As you say yourself the point balance is off, and so is the 2 v 1 Ship situation. And the LtP is not meant to be balanced or very sophisticated; it is what the name says, simply meant as a mean to "Learn to Play" and experience the battle situations, learn the rules, mechanics etc. Just the fact that the Ships are "speeding" and facing each other combined with the point difference is making sure that stuff WILL happen quickly. In a normal/real game you get to decide positions, speeds, armamanet etc. So it is meant to be tough. And I've only witnessed 1-2 Imp wins in 10'ish LtP games
  17. 1) Your placement of the movement tool is "illegal": From LtP page 10: "The ship’s starting position and final position must be on the same side of the maneuver tool. In addition, the maneuver tool cannot be placed in such a way that the ship would overlap the tool when placed in its final position. If the ship would overlap it, the tool must be placed on the other side of the ship’s base before the ship is moved." 2) From Rules Reference page 5 "Destroyed Ships and Squadrons": "Additionally, a ship or squadron is destroyed if a portion of its base is outside the play area."
  18. This little fella sure did go to town at today's SC: Unfortunately he only managed to secure me 2nd place (in a VERY small field) but that was due to a big mistake I made with my Scum deck
  19. The maximum squad points for each player’s first squad is 60 points. A squad cannot exceed 60 points, though it may contain fewer than 60 points. Each player must field at least two ships
  20. Look under tournament resources and "Escalation Tournament " https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/more/x-wing-organized-play-events/
