Correct. All Starter cards with a die are EXCLUSIVE to the starters, so no popping Instincts of R2s in your boosters. Also each starter has two Events which are exclusive to each of the starters. So if you want 2 of a particular Event, or if it ends up Meta and is almost a neccesity, then you will need to buy two of that particular starter.

Stu35 reacted to kingbobb in Kanan ability and synchronicity
I submitted a rules question on Kanan's ability, and while that was specifically regarding dice resolution, I feel it addresses this as well. Jeremy's response was:
    Hi Bobb,
Yes, you declare what action you are taking but you don’t declare what symbol you resolve with the “resolve dice” action; you just declare “resolve dice” and then resolve any one of your dice (or more with modifiers). Each die you resolve after that during that action must be of the same symbol.   Jeremy Zwirn
Card Game Developer   So extending this to the action Play a card from hand, you don't declare "playing Synchronicity," which would require you to meet the play restrictions I think.  Instead, you declare "playing a card, then using Kanan's before ability to resolve his focus to turn another dice to a shield side."   Once that is resolved, you resume playing a card from hand, and since you are now able to meet Synchronicity's "play only" requirement, it is legal to play.

    My dice suck.
Visually they seem fine but when they are rolled the faces all change to blanks, or whatever the least useful side is. I don't know what evil magic they're infused with, but it's powerful.

You either start each round with one resource, top deck cards or you kill Nute. He is 8pts for 8 more health points to any character say around 20-22pts. Killer in mill decks for sure but he creates enough problems that need to be addressed in other decks as well. You can ignore him and go for Vader at the cost of 3 cards per turn. Is that really a problem? Maybe not but his die with the disrupt, focus and resource is far from useless. Something to keep in mind, there are many many good cards to be played and everyone's deck has good cards in it. They will be top decking cards they want to play. Add that to a disrupt or a focus to a 3X, a Best Defense and Nute can draw some attention.

    No.
Lets say your opponent has jar jar:
Your action is to force your opponent to activate jarjar.
    All jarjars reroll nonsense happens.
Then it is your opponents turn.

Ffs this doesnt need an FAQ... Or shouldn't anyway. Peoples reading comprehension skills are just poor.

Yes, it is still a problem.  Communication issues can and do originate with the reader as well as the author.  There will always be SOMEONE who misreads.  Your standard would literally require explanatory text for every single card, because questions like "It says I can resolve one die, can it be a modifier?" and "Can I resolve another die than the one I turned with Force Strike?" still get asked.  Despite the naming, "frequent" is not primary consideration for whether or not a question deserves to be in the FAQ.
I'm not the biggest fan of FFG's lack of attention to templating, but this isn't a problem case.  The card is perfectly clear.  The intent is perfectly clear.  Creating a massive, cluttered document in an attempt to make sure we pander to a second-grade reading level does nothing good for the game.

    K.
I mean. I'v never played magic and when i look around my lgs and compare magic players to players doing other stuff, the magic players look like they're having less fun.
There are a lot of them though, and to quote my flgs owner "magic players keep the lights on".
Tbh £50,000 prizes and a proper grand prix circuit(this is the terminology used in magic i think?) wouldn't affect me as long as i can still go to my local store and play casually for trinkets... FFG can fill their boots (and their coffers, the entry fees for large prize tournaments are surely quite high?)

Theres a closed group on facebook called  Star Wars: Destiny thats got about 12000 people on it and is worth the occasional scroll through.
Whatever your local gaming stores pages are they might have a star wars or destiny spin-off group.
Theres also one called "star wars destiny discussions". Which I'm not in but a mate of mine is. He says it's one of the better ones for actually talking about decks (other groups are often more general).

Cardgamedb has deckbuilding and access to other decks people have built, so thats a reasonable place to start. Theres also facebook groups and podcasts all over the place.

Believe it or not the 2 player starter is not bad for competetiveness as Rey/Poe (both elite) pair well together, although to truly give it a strong competetive edge you will want some events, supports and upgrades from Spirit of Rebellion and empire at war... but even with awakenings you can put a few things in there to give it an edge - focus on getting shields and upgrades on Rey, but Poe with his blaster is dangerous.
Failing that it all depends what cards you own...

Interesting to see that your guys R2P2 is completely different from mine.

Aside from Hand Crafted Lightbow, Shoto Lightsaber, Reys Lightsaber, and Poes Blaster (the latter 2 of which I have 2 copies as opposed to your one), I don't think my R2P2 shares a single card with yours. Which I think goes to show the kind of variety that can be found in this deck (and indeed in the game) even when there are common character archetypes.
Fearless is one I hadn't even considered, but I'm having a second look at it, definitely struggling to find something to drop.

I love that people are theorising that a character utilising shields might become "too strong"...
That would be a refreshing change from the "its turn 3, all your characters are dead" aggro meta that went on for a while there.
I think QuiGon/Yoda will be a great deck, but i can't see anything that makes it reliably broken... yet.

Read again. Knowing game mechanics and having deep understanding of the game are 2 different things. First you can learn in 30 minutes, second can elude you after months of play. And with theories you craft up in this topic i dare to say you lack a bit in this department.

Why? Yoda is pure support char, on 1 dice he is somehow meh, as the special may elude you , on 2 dice he may shine - and lets face it heroes needed cheap pure support. At 10 pts he may be even played with Obi, at 13 he gets a bit of Kanan syndrome described below. But i can imagine eQuigon/eYoda to be a solid thing.
Kanan? For the love of god why? 1 dice he is a bummer - just a filler cause there is really no competition at that point range. Elite he has no partners aside from Quigonn (pretty good but for sure not game breaking - he serves similar role to old Rey there - speed up and some additional dmg, and Qui/Rey was not broken for sure) ,Ahsoka (that is really weird as you will struggle with resources to use Ahsoka or if you do not use her why just no Quigonn?) and Padawans (where AoE damage shreds this deck)
Aayla i may agree - she is 1 point too cheap. 12 points with 3 damage sides...is a bit skewed. But i still would hold my horses with nerf bat (come on you wanna nerf a card before we even got whole set?? Thats what im talking about above) until we see Villain counterparts.
