    You're way behind the times.
Nute Gunray, Magnaguard, Bib, Royal Guard...  Vader has a plethora of partners of all colours to play with, all with pros and cons. (I like Nute Gunray - his ability makes him a target your opponent wants gone, and his status as a unique red character makes leadership a lovely addition to your deck).

    Which one?
New one (Legacies) goes well with eMaz, old one (Spirit of Rebellion) I played quite a bit with one die Rey (Awakenings), inconsistent but very bursty when you get that perfect action-cheaty "Force speed-Force Speed-Vibroknife-Roll in-Resolve Force Speeds- Roll in Obiwan-Re-roll until you get max damage-then resolve it" turn.

Who could you pair Vader with with more than 8hp anyway that still actually does something to justify hitting them first, or Guardian? Sure the Veteran Stormtrooper is 9hp and fits in but theres also no reason to go for him first and he would require other cards that vader doesnt want to be able to do anything.
He's usually with the Magna Guard, which is in the same boat as Nute: 8hp and is threatening enough (or annoying enough) to justify nuking him down before goin to Vader. Yeah the Magna Guard doesnt actually die till the end of the round, rarely actually matters anyway.
But MagnaGuard cant use Leadership to ready Vader, and even an unupgraded Vader getting multiple activations a turn is deadlier than the Magnaguard could ever dream of.

You mean aside from the rule saying that a character cannot have more than 3 shields? It doesn't have to specify that excess shields are discarded because its very very very cut and dry.

    K.
I mean. I'v never played magic and when i look around my lgs and compare magic players to players doing other stuff, the magic players look like they're having less fun.
There are a lot of them though, and to quote my flgs owner "magic players keep the lights on".
Tbh £50,000 prizes and a proper grand prix circuit(this is the terminology used in magic i think?) wouldn't affect me as long as i can still go to my local store and play casually for trinkets... FFG can fill their boots (and their coffers, the entry fees for large prize tournaments are surely quite high?)

Can you Cunning an opponent's Holocron?  It says to swap a card from your hand.  The general rule says you can't have an opponent's card in your hand, and the Holocron doesn't override it.  So you can't.  There are any number of examples here - resolving dice doesn't let you resolve modifiers alone unless it explicitly tells you to, rerolling a die not in your pool (like from Poe) doesn't work because the general rule still limits what you can reroll.
Again, same thing here - unless an ability specifically overrides a general rule, it still functions within the framework of that general rule.  Just telling you to do something doesn't automatically mean you can break whatever rule happens to be in the way.

Please, PLEASE discard one of my Battle Droids!!  because:
There are two ways for a game to end:
    • All of a player’s characters are defeated.
If you discard one of my characters without defeating it, you can't possibly win the game
    There's also this:
Characters also start the game in play, and remain there until defeated.
Discarding a character would remove it from play without defeating it, so it's not possible.  Yes, the Golden Rule overrides standard rules - but only when it says it does.  This sort of incidental overriding of rules doesn't work, and never does, no matter how many times people try to make it.

I would contest that variations of "it was objectively bad because..." arguments can also be levelled at EVERY Star Wars film.
Episode 4 - plot holes abound with 'heres a 2 meter wide instant kill hole that we didnt put so much as put a cage on'
Episode 5 - We found the rebel base and despite having the entire imperial force at our disposal they managed to fire an ion cannon and evacuate.
Ep 6 - our leader is dead. Guess we lose.
    ...

I love these films, but my word one has to suspend disbelief for them. New Star Wars films don't get that grace because people have expectations backed up by nostalgia. Some people will never be happy.

Without rotation the standard game would turn into an utter mess.
Theres always the unlimited(forget its name?) format for those who want to keep all the cards going.

Why  you wanna force him into elite? I would play him at single dice with another 16 points powerhouse elite (one if the fetts for example). His dice and ability makes so consistent combo that you can really utilize him to maximum just as a single dice guy.

Actually not. You may roll 1s. You may need to modify it. You may play vs Deflects. There is **** lot of scenarios where his ability is great.

You thought it was light on Star Wars lore?  Did you accidentally leave after a Pacific Rim preview thinking that was the whole movie?  Because I don’t think we saw the same film.  Because the movie I saw had music and blasters and old Jedi Masters (IV).  It had a visually stunning planet where our heroes met a man of questionable intentions.  It had an offer to join the Dark Side and rule the galaxy.  It had a shocking (though in an anticlimactic way) reveal regarding lineage (V).  It had an evil Force user brought low by his hubris in thinking he could not be betrayed (VI).  It had a young wayward apprentice fighting his former master (III).  It had a stunningly silent space shot (II).  It even had a Force-sensitive Slave boy growing up on the racing circuit (I).  I would describe it as steeped in Star Wars lore!

No you cannot play weapons for free. Play restrictions means things like "spot a red character" or "red character" only.

So, for example, Finn can attach Lukes Lightsaber which is otherwise "blue character only", paying its full cost.

I note you're posting a lot of questions here, and trying to understand the game better is a good thing, however I suggest you peruse the Rules Reference Guide if you have not already done so, as it answers many of these questions.

Here is a direct link to the PDF of the full rules reference, it has much more detail than the pamphlet that came with the starter pack.  Hopefully this will help.

Also based on your posts I'm going to assume English is not your first language? I have spent a bit of time on google trying to see if the Rules reference is present in other languages, but it's not showing anything up. Hopefully someone else can enlighten you if there is in fact a translated rules reference in your first language, and where to find it.

    Yes.
For future reference it's always worth quoting the text from relevant cards when asking these sorts of questions. I just had to spend 30 seconds looking for the battle rage card text(as it's not one that I've come across often in gameplay and am therefore unfamiliar with it). I appreciate that's not a lot of time, but I'm sure plenty of people will just pass on a question they would be able to answer quite easily if the relevant information was there for them.

For anyone else wondering:  "battle rage" is a yellow neutral 1 cost event which states "Spot a Character that has 6 or more damage on it. Resolve one of that characters character dice showing damage, increasing its value by 2.
Aurra Sing: Before you resolve this die you may discard a card from your hand to increase it's value by 1.
