Spurries reacted to Tracker1 in Lost Deck for all 3 scenarios solo.
Give it a shot. I tried a lot of dunedain versons solo with the strategies you mentioned. Just did not work out for me. These quests can hit hard and fast, or creep up on you and finish you off slowly, location lock, threat out etc.You might make it through first quest, but the next 2 are very difficult for them, or basically any deck that does not have healing and cancelation. So, IMO lore and Spirit are essential ingredients into a solo deck. Leadership and tactics are going to have a rough go. Those are the spheres of the 2 heroes in the box, so one of the essential spheres will be missing.
2 handed you can have a support deck to focus on the healing, cancelation, questing etc. while the tactics leadership deck clears house. But solo it does not work out that way. Too many bases to cover.
If you cook up some Dumedain deck that preforms well on all these scenarios, please share it. Love to see them work solo in the lost realm.
I'll continue banging my head against the wall trying to figure them out too.

Spurries reacted to leptokurt in How does everybody feel about Saruman's Treason quests?
Seems I am to dumb to defeat the first quest. How on earth can I keep that cursed track below 30? It always takes me 6-7 turns before I can finish stage 1, so that's at least 22-24 points. Then there are some enemies, treacheries and when revealed effects, travel effects and stuff...

And even when I have that done in time, I get always stomped by Ugluk. I'm playing spirit Theoden and Thedored plus Erkenbrand as the prisoner, not in campaign mode.

ETA: Just won a game, but basically it was because I got all the good cards when I needed them most.

Ok so the tactics attachment is Arod.
    1 Cost, Mount.
It's unique so can't stack, but cam work with the Horse Breeding and the Rohan event to get +3.

I've meant to ask why the hate on Leadership? One of most fun solo decks I have is leadership. Can be very powerful but since no cancellation very risky

So I dont have all the details for this one like restircted, unique and such since I forget them, but there is a 1 Cost Tactics Attachment.

Attach to a Hero or Legolas.  After attached character destroys an enemy, place 1 progress on the current quest.

I may have some of the wording wrong but thats the gist

Deadmans Dike is giving me some real trouble. I thought I had the game in hand when the Sorcery card made me discard a just played Gandalf and Faramir. Then the Boss killed a hero and it was time to scoop.
Another game, also had the board under control, had one enemy engaged. Staging is a side quest, fine. WITH SURGE, oh no! Surges into a Cursed, dead, which brought 2 more back from discard. Now I have 4 enemies engaged. Well played, encounter deck, well played. Oh, the side quest was one where it brought back one undead enemy each refresh phase too. Scoop.

Holding bow with left hand=You are right hand dominant. I couldn't be more right handed, and hold a bow in my left hand and pull back with my stronger and more dextrous right hand.
I will say however that any great archer can/should be able to use both.

Good day travelers of Middle-earth. Gwaihir is happy to flap his large feathered wings and bring to you all a new video play through of everyone's favorite cooperative LCG! In this video, I play through the second quest in Voice of Isengard: To Catch an Orc. It features my Mablung Gondor deck, alongside Leadership Boromir and Lore Pippin. Enjoy!

Spurries reacted to PsychoRocka in The Old Forest
Lake Town is easily the hardest. It remains as the only non-nightmare quest I haven't beaten. I haven't made decks specifically for it however and using decks that aren't specifically built for it pretty much means an instant loss.
Stone of Erech I had great difficulty with and I think it is very hard indeed and the second hardest POD, many others think it is a walk in the park. How this is the case with the uber nasty quest stage effects, King of the Dead etc I have no idea. Probably like Lake Town this is due to decks built very specifically for the quest with really high willpower and willpower boosts to offset the Spectral keyword.
Next I would say Massing at Osgilith if you don't have that many player cards or a limited player card pool. If you have all the player cards to date (and/or a second core set) it becomes much much easier. If you have all cards then I would actually rank it as the easiest. Playing with only cards that were released when it come out it is the third hardest though in my opinion. Like Stone of Erech there are some pretty nasty quest stage effects and the Witch King is pretty badass. I have actually personally never lost a single attempt against this quest. I did have all player cards up to (but not including) VOI by the time I got my hands on it though making it far far easier.
After Stone of Erech I would say The Old Forest simply because of how easily you can get location locked and how much location management is needed. Plus stage 2 constantly changes and if you get the nasty stage that removes a location from the victory display too often it can stop you from advancing to stage 3 for a fair while or at all! Old Man Willow also raises threat like crazy so you have to finish the final quest stage quite fast.
Lastly I would say Fog on the Barrow Downs. I do have decks that are very reliable combat wise however so most quests that feature difficult combat as the main threat are usually not too hard for me. I was able to beat this quest pretty easily as the Wights were not an issue.

Keep in mind I have played Massing, Stone and Lake town a whole handful of times each (lots of games of Massing) whereas with the Old Forest and Fog on the Barrow Downs I've only played a handful of times until I was able to beat them. Really need to go back and play these two some more (especially Fog) as they are both fun and challenging.
So yeah in order of hardest to easiest:
    Battle of Lake Town
    Stone of Erech
    The Old Forest
    Fog on the Barrow Downs
Massing at Osgiliath (third hardest not last if you don't have all the player cards and only have cards released before this was)
These are obviously just my opinions and everyone will have different ones considering how different player decks and strategies can be.

Subtract damage done by X whenever damage is dealt. Makes sense, just makes them a bit harder to kill
