  1. It's extremely hard to fully categorize people into simple lists. It's much more accurate to say that their attributes exist on many different axes. People can have differences and be respectful about it. Others have differences and can be nasty about it, which is unfortunate. People are better off if they care about what they have to offer more than what they can get (but not doing away with caring about what they get entirely). If someone doesn't like who they are spending time with, they should dust off their feet and go somewhere else rather than force a change.
  2. If the design of the Z95 is to support a Rebel swarm, I expect at the very least that some of the named Z95 pilot cards will have some area buff effect. But we haven't seen all the Z95 cards yet. You make good points about the Z95's survivability compared to a TIE fighter. I guess we'll see.
  3. I demand to see a Rainbow Dash custom paint job.

    abilities

Maybe Porkins' ability will be after he scores a hit, he takes a random damage.
  5. Under most circumstances you only draw a damage card when the damage consumes your shields and actually damages your hull. You draw a face up damage card when a crit gets to your hull, otherwise you draw a face down damage card. If the face up damage card says it counts as 2 damage, then treat it like 2 damage cards. If you have the same number of damage cards or more as your hull, the ship is destroyed. Each facup card does count as 1 damage card on your hull, unless it counts as 2. Rarely do you draw damage cards when you still have shields left. Proton bombs are one major exception. For those, you apply damage cards outright, according to the proton bomb card - it isn't expressed as 'damage', but simply applying face up cards. If the face up cards determine that you have zero hull left (they apply to hull, NOT shields), the ship is destroyed. I think I got that right, please correct my wording otherwise.

    news

That's the typical pattern of any business that announces something long before its actual release.
  7. Probably 4-6 Z95s and 3 of all the rest. Hopefully people don't make it seem too interesting to field a full swarm of Z95s or I'll have to buy more.
  8. I took apart all my dials and put matte contact paper on them after reading about the ink coming off with repeated use. I also glued 1/10" mouse pad on the underside of every frickin base.
  9. Sorry for the thread necro. On Dec. 26 I paid a visit to my local Target. All their XWing sets are 50% off (Fenton, MI). So watch your Targets!
  10. Useful thread at boardgamegeek illustrates how to get the wings fully deployed: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1038612/lambda-shuttle-wings In short, the back hinges tend to slide outward. Pinching them towards the center helps a lot, although fresh out of the box shuttles will be very stiff in this regard. This solution helped my shuttle a lot, but one of the hinges still isn't quite perfect (there is still a small gap in the hinges). But it's a lot closer to what it should be.
  11. Ordered 6/8/13, my order's status just switched to Shipped (Preorder), woot! And with a delivery date of 9/12, UPS no less! (To Michigan) (looking at the UPS site, the tracking number is indeed on track for a 9/12 delivery)
  12. Same here. My going theory (and hope) is that the earliest pre-orders ship first.
  13. I ordered from MiniMarket back in June. If my order switches to Shipped I'll be posting a Mini Market Wave 3 Shipping thread if one isn't up already.

    Gaming mats

I ordered the Crimson Red BM002 Gale Force 9 mat from the flamesofwar site. The order status says "downloaded" but the ship date says 9/1. After that I saw the same mat available on Amazon and MiniatureMarket. Oh well, I hope it arrives soon.

+1 from being within Range 1 of the target?
  16. I use this guy: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ECQPVQ/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 However, once I receive Wave 3, space will be at a premium (especially for the extra large bases and the shuttles), so I may seek out a more roomy method. Here's one side of it loaded up: https://sphotos-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/62747_3951685411028_1202150712_n.jpg I carefully cut out the plastic molds for the ships so I can lay them across the compartments and still have room for bases, tiles, pegs, etc. underneath. I also had to cut out some compartment walls to make room for storing the large bases.
  17. The date listed in the Upcoming section for Wave 1 still shows them at the factory for a Q3 2013 release. Edit: ninja'd!
  18. I upgraded all my bases with the mouse pad today. I didn't bother with a washer. A 0.1 inch thick mouse pad with a rubber bottom works best. It just barely reaches past the underside of the base to make contact with the playing surface. The bases passed the bump test. I'm happy. Thanks for the idea!
  19. Hi all. I have yet to experience an EotE game, but I found the dice mechanic interesting. Sometimes you have to play a system a while before you really get a feel for how viable a system is. Sometimes, you read something that alters your expectations a bit. I usually frequent the Paizo site since I support their products. This review for the Beginner Game showed up on there: http://paizo.com/products/btpy8ut3?Star-Wars-RPG-Edge-of-the-Empire-Beginner-Game Do any of you feel the same way about the dice system boost/setback mechanic? Have you experienced player disagreement with how the GM modifies a dice pool before it is rolled? I sort of compare the boost and setback dice of EotE with the typical +2/-2 bonuses/penalties that happen with favorable/unfavorable situations in d20 systems, and I imagine similar situations in EotE should be fairly easy to make the same kinds of judgments about. What do you think? Thanks for your insight!
  20. Fenton, MI Target not offering clearance price, still full
  21. - The ewok rolling a success and triumph trying to work the speeder bike - he got the rest of the stormtroopers to follow. - Anakin rolled a fail firing torpedoes at the droids, but a triumph made him hit the main generator. (ew Episode I reference!)
  22. I originally got this Plano box for my ships: http://www.amazon.com/Plano-Molding-5231-Double-Organizer/dp/B000HJ9514/ref=pd_sim_t_9 I carefully cut the plastic modeling out of the packages so I could lay the molding over the openings and put the ships inside for stability, and still have room underneath for bases, etc. Then, for Wave 2, I upgraded to this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ECQPVQ/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which is basically two of the same case plastic melted together. I had to cut out some separators to make room for the large bases, but I have enough room for everything plus some Wave 3 ships (although I'll have to remove a Falcon to fit in a Shuttle). Also, the white covers will bend if you make them too heavy and open them all the way without something to brace them.
  23. I pre-ordered Wave 2 from Mini Market. I think they keep raising the number because they put in a new order for a case when their numbers run out. If they hit a limit on what they can order, then I imagine pre-orders might hit an out of stock state. When stock finally arrives, pre-orders are shipped out first, and it took them a few days to get Wave 2 out the door. So if you wait until they get their stock in, you might end up last in line to get your ships. When Wave 2 came into stock, Mini Market did have a week's worth or so of stock to sell to people who didn't pre-order. I think they received even more shipment after that to sell. So I'm guessing there will be stock beyond the pre-orders. If you really want to be sure to get ships as soon as possible, though, I would pre-order. I plan to.
  24. Always glad to see new ship announcements. Kind of odd that there is a shuttle paired with a legacy assault craft. Also, the Moldy Crow has no forward cockpit window! Do you fly it like Ace Ventura? Anyway, very cool.
