  1. Barnes & Noble online previously showed the Wave 4 ships to be available 5/28.  Now they are not listed at all.

Amazon now shows the TIE Phantom, available 6/27 via FunAgainGames.

    Sad :(

  2. I played with Boba Fett, Recon Specialist, Push the Limit and Proton Bomb.

Each turn (as long as you fly green) you can put two focus and an evade on him.  Makes him quite the tank.

The high PS makes dropping a bomb much more predictable and forces opponents to fly carefully around him.

Then I added a mix of interceptors with Howlrunner for extra fun.

  3. The XWing and Tie Fighter PC games actually supported flying in behind the Corvette so that it couldn't fire at you.

Maybe Star Wars showed the Corvette firing backwards because the Star Destroyer was large enough to not be obstructed, or was slightly at an upper angle?  I dunno.

  4. I was playing in a small tournament with Luke with Draw Their Fire and R2 D2, Horton (Y Wing) and a BWing.  I was doing pretty well until people realized Luke should die first.  I made the mistake of letting Luke be in front on the last game and got my butt handed to me easily because Luke died first, quickly.  My lesson for that game was to keep Luke in back so that he has a chance to roll more evade dice and let the BWing and YWing do their damage, kept alive somewhat by Luke.

    Each game has its lessons.

The biggest mistakes I've seen involve how people joust with a lot of ships.  The ships get separated and it's easy to pick them off if the other side has an easier time keeping its ships together in formation.

I don't know what makes one player better or worse, luckier or not.  But skillful flying, limiting your exposure to shots and maximizing the enemy's exposure to shots is a lot of it.  How to do that is another whole school of thought.

  5. I guess that part of my assumption that they start with full energy is because if all a ship is doing is flying when it enters an area, it hasn't done anything the expends energy, so it seems reasonable to start with full energy.

I await some official word on this, because I am very curious.

It would have been worth a clarification to state specifically in the rules that huge ships start with 0 energy.

  6. I thought the path that Anakin followed to the Dark Side was too simplistic and childish.

It would have been more resonant if Anakin was more a man, less a boy, and felt compelled to handle an important situation that he was deceived into thinking was his responsibility and got tragically drawn in as the situation intensified.  As we watch we can see how we would have been fooled too and go with Anakin on his fall.

That would have made a lot more sense to me than some childish secret about needing to save his wife without telling anyone.

Even the Emperor's attitude toward having the galaxy for himself was disappointingly uninsightful.  "We will have... peace."  bleh.

  7.

On the flip side, my new wave 4 order shows 'ready to ship'...?

    Go figure.

Usually when I pre-order from MM, the order status first says 'Ready to Ship' until it finally enters a status of 'Processing Multiple Pre-orders', which the pre-order for Wave 4 that I placed has been in for a few weeks.
