My only experience in playing these kind of card games is playing Magic from the mid 90's to the late 90's but I do play the Magic online games on the PS3. I know that from playing the six WHI factions that some of them have specific themes be it defensive, swarm or card control but I have no idea what the "trick" is that the VC have. I know they have necromancy but it seems it only brings cards back from the discard pile for one turn then they go to the bottom of the deck. I have the March of the Damned expansion to go with the Core Set, March on Ulthuan, Legends and three battle packs (Inevitable City, Accursed Dead and City of Winter which my wife gave me as an early Christmas present. I am a fan of the tabletop game and the Black Library novels so she knows what armies I tend to prefer. I looked over at deckbox.org and there really wasn't much to pick from in terms of VC decks. I'm hoping you guys could give suggetions and deck build lists if you wouldn't mind. Thanks for any help! Hi and welcome to the game! First of all, as neutral cards the Undead are not really a faction in the WH:I sense, and are meant to bolster or add variety to the three Destruction races. Building a competetive, pure-Undead deck in the current meta is not the easiest task (although I personally don't play competetively, I do follow the meta and discussions on these boards). on the other hand, Undead are probably the single strongest neutral faction (next to Skaven), an has some deck building potential. I share my game with two friends and play exclusively Dwarf, Dark Elf and Undead decks. I've found that Undead in particular work well with DE if you're willing to mix things up a bit). Undead share some themes with DE (minus hit points, non-combat damage, unit destruction, power denial, deck/hand manipulation etc.), which can be used to create some good synergies and combos. Currently I'm not running any pure decks, but here's a link to an old one I did use, quite successfully actually. It had a lot of first turn cards (21/53, ~40%), and both rush (Swarm of Bats, Mannfred) as well as control (Blood Dragon Knight, Wight Lord) elements, making it quite versatile. Anyway, not up to date. Hope you have fun deckbuilding! /H Thanks for the help. It looks like VC are a "blue" type of deck to use a Magic refenence as I've seen the Dark Elves are in terms of trying to force discard or card control the opponent.

  3. Thanks for the response. I assumed it worked that way or else there's no point in using those kind of instant cards after someone declared an attack.
  4. Thank you for the quick response! So using my example since I attacked with a unit and used a tactic card first and she then used a tactic card after I declared the attack and tactic card to kill the unit did the unit inflict damage *before* it died or was it killed *before* it could do damage?
  5. Hello, I am a long time tabletop player for WH and 40k and this is my first time playing any card game for the IP. My wife and I got the core set and the Ulthuan expansion and I have some questions that I hope you guys don't mind answering. 1. My wife and I used to play Magic in the mid to late 90's when you had all kinds of instants and interrupts to manage. Reading the rules for WHI I am baffled when it comes to resolving what action goes first. Here is an example of a game we are currently playing: I am playing Dwarfs versus her Chaos. I am attacking her battlefield which had no defenders and use a tactic card to give one of my attackers +2 power for a total of +4. She then uses a card that inflicts damage to a unit equal to its power and since the unit had 3 hit points this killed the unit. Reading the rules there is a section about "last in, first out" that said all actions resolve. What does this mean? Should my guy have inflicted +4 damage to her battlefied before he died or did the card that kill him happen before that could have taken place? 2. Are there more races than the 6 that are playble? I know there are neutral factions but I'd like to collect a Vampire Count deck. Do they have their own racial capital placard and racial symbol or are they just neutral and you can't use them as a stand alone deck? 3. Can Order decks fight other Order decks and Destruction versus Destruction? I know some neutral cards are only for each faction but I couldn't see anything in the rules other than you can't combine Order and Destruction cards in a deck. 4. Any recommendations on what additional packs or expansions to get? I'd like to play a Vampire Count army. I'm assuming there are other races like Skaven, Ogre Kingdoms, Chaos Dwarfs, Brettonians, etc. that you can play as neutral? Thanks for any help!
