  1. Panic said: At this point it would be nice if FFG put something out for X-wing. Online missions? ‘we are sorry we f***** up have some missions’ Isn't that what the Kessel Runs were? A we're sorry wave 2 is delayed, but in the meantime we'll send out the small amount we do have to be used as prizes in this event.
  2. Top wants for me would be TIE Defender and Bombers, B-Wing, and Lambda Shuttle. The Lambda needs to include a Han Solo Pilot Card and Tydirium upgrade card that lets it be used by the Rebels if Han is the pilot.
  3. I used Vader and the 21 point one in my Kessel Run tourny. I had swarm tactics on vader so the 2 of them were always the first attacks in a round.
  4. I used Rookie X-Wing and the 18 point Y-Wing with Ion Cannon and R2 Astromech vs the 21 point TIE Advanced and 2x Academy Pilots. Its 45 points each and plays pretty fast. Idea with it was to use all 4 ship types, but keep things as simple as possible, hence no unique pilots (and thier abilities) and no upgrades except for the Y-Wing which really needs the Ion Cannon to be useful and the droid to help its meneuverability. If you want to go extra simple and not do the full rules (no crits, no stress token, ignore the color of meneuvers) then you can drop the R2 and give the Rebels iniative.
  5. My teaching set up from when I first started was Tempest Squadron TIE Advanced with 2 Academy TIE Fighters vs Rookie X-Wing and Gold Squadron Y-Wing with Ion Cannon. They come out at only 45 points for Imps and 44 for Rebs while using all 4 wave 1 ship types. In addition to no pilot skills, crits are counted as regular hits and all maneuvers are considered white.
  6. Maybe add another TIE Fighter or 2 since there's a number of 6-7 TIE squads. If you don't think you'd ever actually play a TIE Fighter swarm then just wait for wave 2.
  7. Pretty big fan. Star Wars in 77 was the first movie I saw in a theater as a little kid and it stuck with me. Read the books, played the video games, and collected SW figures the whole tiome. Playing this game now after having played the WOTC miniatures games for years. Did the Decipher CCG before that. Using the Death Star to Blow Away Hoth (guess thier shield wasn't strong enough to stop that orbital bombardment) is my favorite moment from my time playing the game.

I know how to play against a standard TIE swarm, with or without Vader, with or without Howlrunner/ Dark Curse/, etc. because I see those a lot. An 8 TIE swarm is going to catch some folks off guard as there's no obvious target to give priority to removing, and with their high manuverability, you can just kind of keep shuttling them away from the fight once they dinged a time or two. It could work. It'll be hard as hell to manuver, but if you can keep from crashing into everything you don't want to crash into, it could work. I faced it once with a 2X+2Y build. Strategy was try to get Wedge with a TIE at range 1 in front of him so he could take a TL on that TIE then attack with a 4 vs 2 dice advantage with with rerolls would get a 1 attack kill. Actually managed to kill 4 of the TIE's that way in the game, 2 with 3 hits and 2 with a hit and crit combo where the crit was a direct hit. My general strategy for facing 8 TIEs is very simple. If there are no damaged TIEs pick the one you can get the most shots on and unload. If there is a damaged TIE concentrate fire on it until its destoyed.

I don't kniow if this would take way too much work to do, but figured it doesn't hurt to ask. Right now you have it so you can click on a ship type it will list all squads with that type in the squad. Any future plans on making the filter more in depth with something along the line of a quantity box for each ship type so players could search for squads containing multiple ship types and limit the number of each. So for example a new player who has a core set and one of each wave one expansion could search for squads including up to 1 Y-Wing and up to 2 X-Wings and not end up with a bunch of results that use more ships than he has available. Seems like it would be very useful for new players as well as vets who can't just go out and pick up 100 points worth of each ship type just in case they might eventually build a squad that needs that many ships of that type. Also very handy for when new waves comes out and players are slowing picking up the new ships as funds allow. I'm glad you like it and I like your suggestion a lot. Unfortunately, the squadrons are not stored as a relationally as they should be but as text. I did this when I started the Squadron Builder to save time but it now means I can't query the data very effectively. That'll learn me, I guess. I may be able to add a filter for individual pilots (so Luke Skywalker not just X-Wings) but I don't think I could do numbers. I have thought about something in the builder where you put what sets you have and it disables everything you don't own but I wasn't sure people would use it and it'd be quite a lot of work to implement. Do you think that's something you'd find useful? Cheers vs Glad you liked the suggestion even if, as I expected, it can't be done. I basicly thought of it because when I first decided to try a Rebel squad I only had 3 X-Wings and a Y-Wing so I wanted to search for builds that I could put together without going through a bunch of 4 X-Wing builds. The disabling ships would be a step up from the current search where you can limit it to squads containing a particular ship, but unless a lot of people really want it its probably not worth the effort it would take to implement it.
  10. I used Dark Curse in my Kessel Run tourny and I think he was the only one of my ships that made it through all 3 games. Pretty understandable that he would be great with Stealth. I know facing that I wouldn't bother shooting at him unless he the only ship I could shoot at.
  11. My preorder is for Slave I, a Falcon, and 2 of each fighter. I wanted to go for 3 each, but didn't have enough in my paypal account.
  12. I've been doing my solitare games on offline vassal. Since you don't need the other player to be able to see all your ship info set up is basicly just sticking the ship token on the map and renaming them. Then I have the map fill the screen except for a small spot along the left where I keep the one mini window for the dice roller and a second one for the maneuver templates. I just line up the pilot cards and any upgrades for both sides on my desk and use my regular damage deck and token like normal. Aside from chooseing maneuvers there's no real difference in playing both sides since you're still going to pick the best action for each ship and make firing choices the same as you would playing a normal 2 player game. I've done the maneuvers set up a couple different ways including at the start of a round setting up all ships with thier maneuver templates set so that it will result in as much combat as possible. Another one I've done that is a lot faster and easier is to skip selection all the maneuvers at the start of round and instead pick it for each ship when its turn to move comes up. That way is rough on the lower pilot abilites though since it makes it much easier for a high ability pilot to keep a low ability one in its fireing arc. I'll have to take a longer look at whats in the link you posted since I do like the idea making the movement be at least partially preselected based on position the ship is in.

I do not know if they ship to Canada thou.I I remembered them a couple weeks ago (I used to get my case or 2 of each SWM release from them) and went on there to check if they had wave 2 up for preorder and ended up buying both big ships and 2 of each fighter to start off with.

Thanks Also, just a quick bump to say I'e added a couple of improvemenets to the squadron lister. It now shows you how many squadrons match your filters, and also lets you filter squadrons by a specific ship type. Cheers vs I've gotten a lot of use out of the squad builder and was wondering about the ship type filter. I don't kniow if this would take way too much work to do, but figured it doesn't hurt to ask. Wave 3

Eruletho said: But I'm gonna answer again, simply because I like my answer… Imperial: TIE bomber Rebellion: B-wing Neutral: Lamba Shuttle Z-95 headhunter The idea behind that is the imp/rebel ships get packaged as before, and the new, neutral ships come with pilots and bases for both factions. For the Lamba, options would include Rebel Spy, Han, Emporer's Hand, and Juno Eclipse. For the Z-95, possibly Rebel Scout, Mara Jade, Imperial Spy, and somebody other than Han, becuase he'd have 2 ships already, though he did pilot one of these too for a bit. This strategy should look good to FFG too, since people collecting only one faction all should buy the neutral ships, so instead of making 2 ships that would be bought by those customers, they are making 3, thus selling more product. In addition, people who are buying for two players / multiple factions would probably buy more of the Lamba/Z-95 to be able to field some in both factions simultaneously. It should also look good to us - It gives us 3 more ships for each faction instead of just 2 Since you're repeating what you've said previously i may as well do the same. I think the Lambda Shuttle should be done as a normal Imperial side ship, but include Han and Chewie pilot cards plus a 0 popint Tydirium mod card like the Slave I and Millennium Falcon cards the Firespray and YT-1300 come with. The unique Tydirium card's ability will be to allow it to be used in a Rebel squad with Han or Chewie as it's pilot. If they want to make it even more unique make it just Han for the Rebel side pilot, but also include a copilot/crewmember (sorry I don't have a Falcon so I don't know what they called them) type card of Chewie that is limited to use on the Tydirium.
