    2016 Regionals Results

I was the head TO at greenfield. 82 tickets sold, 12 no-shows, 70 actual players, and 10 bye cards (counting at 0.5 players each for determining number of rounds). All counted and determined during the player meeting, prior to round 1 pairings, following 2016 Tournament Regulations and 2016 Regional Championship Enrollment Procedure. Those are the facts, because I was there. The cut was determined correctly. If you weren't there you can't judge or say anything. This event was 100% correct. We announced and changed to top 8 before round one pairings were posted. I'm not going to lie some people were salty and booed when the announcement was made but we didn't design the structure we just enforced what FFG requires.

How and why did K-Wings become so good?

To the original question, look at other turret ships and the point cost. Look at other ships with the same point cost and compare the life count. Under costed. That being said raise the point cost and it would never see play.

Who wants ffg to release epic tournament kits?

Required spending of the epic points cuts down on game time drastically

Who wants ffg to release epic tournament kits?

As a TO this should really happen. Problem is the kits would have to be used in a league setting rather than a one day depending on your attendance for the event. However playing one game a week of epic is totally doable.
  6. Hmmmm......... now I'm planning
  7. Mel is this awesomeness solid? Or is there a way I can sneak some LEDs into it? When I get back from GenCon I'm going to order one.

idea for a squadron based title card

You mean things like this? Rogue Leader X-Wing Only, 1 point Must have PS 6 or higher to equip When defending against a ship with lower PS than you, you may change one blank result to an evade result. Fluff - Wedge laughs at academy pilots, Luke's Jedi abilities should make him almost unhittable. Red Five X-Wing Only, 1 point Must have PS 4 or higher to equip When declaring an attack with a torpedo secondary weapon, you may treat the Attack (Target Lock): header as Attack. Then you may acquire a Target Lock on the Defender. Fluff - Using the Force means Luke just doesn't miss. He takes a focus, picks a target, gains a lock, then has TL and F for the roll. Red 3 X-Wing Only, 1 point Once per round after defending against an attack, assign one focus token to another friendly ship at range 1. *OR (can't decide between these two)* Once per round after defending against an attack, remove one stress token from another friendly ship at range 1. Fluff - When you know Biggs is keeping those Ties off your back its easier to keep your attention on your target. I think this is an untapped part of the game that would fix the name sake. Also you could do a second core set X-wing vs TIE fighter and add things the game needs, like a new damage deck. You could add title cards that add actions to the action bar to fix xwings. I do this in my story league I run at barristers. Some of the X-wings are nasty when they get just a little buff.

I honestly believe unique pilot specific cards would fix so many dead ships. Rouge leader Red five Red three Just off the top of my head.

That's odd, did they not update the tournament rules to actually say that you do use MoV for pairings? I'm sure they did.Edit, yup I checked it's all here pretty clear. Did they use the old FFG software or the new one? Sounds like it might have been the old software (not that I have used the new). The FFG tournament rules state that you must do pairings first by tournament points, and then by MoV. The new (still in beta) FFG software does not support pairings by MoV; this is a technical limitation. Strictly speaking their new software is not tournament legal. Do what I say, not what I do. I noticed it at MN FFG regional. Not disagreeing by what is in the FAQ. Just observation on what had happened.

The FFG software pairs by match wins. Not match points and mov. This is actually a bit nicer as top players aren't eliminating each other and it makes pairings a bit easier.

    2015 Regionals Results

I was flying that rebel control variant: 2 Blues with FCS, Title, and Tactician, Gold + ABT + R3-A2, Bandit x 2. It performed well, went 5-1 in swiss and nearly beat Nate's Corran/Jake/Biggs list in the top 8 :-) There were two whisper and a decimator lists that were identical. I didn't run the software but the Barrister who did is going to scan all the lists and get them to sozin for crowd sourcing. I feel like yesterday backs up what I said on a different thread about the game having surgeons. At some point everyone who has been flying turret less for a long time and has those wave one tactics will fall back into the top. It's already starting to some extent.
