  1. You mean Arena that says: "You may summon 1 character in this Region to fight." How you get the Arena to the Inner Region is an interesting dilemma. Gong of War on the other hand is a valid method for removing a character on the CoC. Ah yes, good point. I guess the point I was trying to make is the character on the CoC can have spells cast on him and generally be affected, assuming it falls within the parameters of the spell or ability. I shouldn't have used the Arena as an example tho, as that doesn't fall within it;s parameters. I didn't actually have my Talisman game to hand tho to check the specifics of that card, but it was the first thing that came to mind.
  2. There's nothing stopping characters casting spells on a character who's on the Coc, assuming the parameters of the spell are satisfied. You can even use an adventure card that allows you to summon someone to you such as "the Arena" on the character on the CoC.

  4. Thanks for the link. I found Local gaming shop that had it so I bought it there and posted it. Posting it was pretty expensive, but at least It'll get there in time for the wedding.
  5. I want to buy the Talsiman boardgame as a wedding present for a friend, who's getting married in 2 months. It seems it's out of print and I'm having trouble finding somewhere that sells it. I live in Australia, friend is in UKJ, so I would like to find a UK based retailer that will post it over there. Anyone got any links for online shops that will do that and have it in stock? Thanks in advance.
  6. If I wanted to do this I would just emulate directly what Craft does with spells. Base carrying capacity = 4 on STR 2 or less. 3 Strength = total of 5 objects 4 or 5 Strength = total of 6 objects 6+ Strength = total of 7 objects. Obviously mules etc will add to this.
  7. If the card specificaly says "Add X to STR" or "Adds X to Craft" then yes you can (Unless the card specifies otherwise).. However some cards just say something like "Adds 1 to STR in Battle" or something like that. in which case no.
  8. Ah ok. I don't have: The sacred pool, The Dragon or bloodmoon so didn't know that. I have Frostmarch, but didn't look closely at the alternative endings so missed the warlock one (and it hasn't come up yet). Hmm, I guess I will separate those game changer ones andf offer them up as an alternative up front. If no-one wants to go for that then pick one of the rest randomly…. Thanks for the info.
  9. In Talsiman, whic we have just bought the city expansion for we use the ruling that the alternative endings are drawn randomly and then kept face down and only revealed when someone reaches the Crown of command. It seems that the Merchants guild and assassins guild alternative endings lbreak that rule though as they are the only 2 endings that actually change gameplay right from the start of the game. Am I right in saying that? I think so, so I guess I'll have to remove those endings from play… Strange.

    Board Size

We have the highlands exansion and we play Talisman on a large picnic table in a dedicated games room. However this week I'm buying 2 large pieces of MDF board and am going to cover them with cloth, then place them over a couple of smaller tables, so I have a very large gaming surface. It'll be big enough for Talisman, Descent and any RPGs I run. Other than that, yeah if we play in the living room say, we play on the floor.
  11. If the spreadsheet doesn't work out, let me know and I'll put the text document together for you.
  12. When you say a text representation of the board, do you mean a text file with each square numbered that you could cross reference. So for example say allocating the Tavern a value of R1:1 (R1 being Region 1, or the outer region the 1 after colon being the square number) then each square clockwise from that being 2, 3, 4 etc with a description for each square and what to do? And to take that further, the middle region being R2, with say the square you gert across from the Sentinal to be , for example R2:1? If so , I'd be happy to help you out.
  13. Will Australia get it at the same time or will exports to Australian distributors be delayed?
  14. So I'm thinking of running a Pathfinder (A Roleplaying game based on the dungeons and Dragons 3.5 rules) campaign based upon the Talisman world. Has anyone else done this? I've been thinking of coming up with some Cooporative rules for a one off Talisman session and use that gameplay as a vague guideline for the plotline for an RPG campaign. For that matter has anyone ever created some cooporative rules for Talisman?
