I very much enjoyed your article on the Crane Clan (sorry, I just got around to reading it). Although very different than the Crab Clan, the Crane has always been a close second favorite of mine. It was Doji Kurohito on the front of the Diamond Edition starter (?) deck that made me take a chance and got into L5R way back then. For new players and those with no prior knowledge of the different clans, your article really captures what the Crane are all about. Well done.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone that has been assisting with helping my friend who's wife passed away a few days ago from a seizure. Many people have reached out to me and are offering assistance in many forms. I have been collecting all the information and putting together a list for my friend. At this moment he has no idea of any of this and will be presented with everything so far as well as a list of what is to come on thursday. Again, thank you all. This community cares more than any other game or group i've been a part of and on behalf of him and his family, thank you.

So, you draw 5, plus destroy an Imperial Storehouse for a card, before hitting any province against Dragon and the issue is the game?

I think the game might just not be for you. I love the game. Having to plan around provinces is part of the game. I agree that some provinces are too strong (Feast). I hardly think Restoration is that province. It usually ends up being a discard 0 card, sometimes discard 1-2. Sure, I've hit my friend with a -10 cards once, but he hasn't played like an idiot since.

Maybe the game just ain't for you though, and that's fine. I just don't understand people's desire to state as such. I win most of my game, and I often can point to big mistakes my opponents are making and why they lose. I'm kind of surprise people still bid 5 on the first turn anyways. You can do better by having a lower bid I think. I've always been a proponent of 3 (unless I play honor pressure).
 

I'd actually like to see some harsher penalties for dishonorable behaviour. After all, the trade off is that you get to utilize methods and resources that others can't.

let me know if you have any feedback, I’m always open to changing the content around as long as it makes the gm’s Job easier in the end.
hopefully this will help us all churn out games quickly without much attention to the rulebook. I’ll post when a change or update has been implemented.
In other news, there is much discussion in the L5R Discord about the beta and even a couple of live games that play on the weekends if anyone wants to listen in. Have fun!

Some interesting numbers, because I feel like it: 
According to the answers in this thread, 8 people enjoy the system, 5 people are on the fence, and 11 do not enjoy it. That's a rough 33% / 21% / 46% distribution. 
Thought' this should be up to share and all !

Please do not tell me you guys expect us to try to navigate 2 pdfs going line-by-line......
Listen, if someone want to send me a copy on the InDesign files I'll go ahead and format the book with the edits in it. I have a convention next week but will I do it myself once that is over. 
 
(EDIT: Actually, I could probably knock it out this weekend)
