Hothie, Probably not a good idea to reveal the KRE final list items. It is supposed to be a surprise. Unless Fantasy Flight has published it. It is supposed to keep the players on an even playing field. Just FYI.

TO's. Make sure you are organized for this tournament. I ran a 7 player Charity tournament over Thanksgiving. It went pretty smooth. I had every player fill out the Army list sheet provided by Fantasy Flight and turn it in. I also have Army Builder software which I put each player's build into. That is the fastest way to double check army and point lists. I also created a sheet that had each of the turn steps typed out and at each play area for players to reference. The biggest key is to have yourself prepared to set pairings quickly after each round. After the last match of a round, you will need to have pairings out as quickly yet accurately as possible. As a TO please remember you are wearing many hats. You are organizing play, making rule judgements, and settling any and all disputes. If you can do a mock tournament to prepare yourself and your LGS for this. Because the prizes will be coveted by all, this tournament will need to run as smooth as possible. Good Luck.

By the way the Kessel run ships are in. This will be so great.

Altered Components in Organized Play?
timewalker03 replied to jimtullis's topic in X-Wing Organized Play
It would be ok in the Omaha tournament -
A couple of things I need to add. To play in the tournament you will need to bring with you a pre-built 100 point ship build. You will play this throughout the entire tournament. You will register your list and I will input it into army builder for record. I will print you a copy if you want one. Second item you must have is a core set box which contains the following: Dice (minimum 3 green defense dice and 3 red attack dice, movement sticks, damage deck, and range stick. Last you must have pilot and upgrade cards for your fleet, and the ships to match your army.

The Game Shoppe in Bellevue Nebraska will be running the Kessel Run event on Saturday December 15, 2012 at 2pm. Signup for the event will be open from 1pm and will close at 2pm when pairings are issued. This is a free event. The tournament rounds will be 60 minutes, and the number of rounds will be determined by the number of players that signup to play. Prizes will be given to the top 4 players as per the Kessel Run event instructions by Fantasy Flight Games. There will also be a giveaway of two ships in a random drawing after the event, to those who did not place in the top 4. I hope to see many of you at the event. Sean

I talked to Norm last night about that. I think I am just going to concentrate on TO since this is the first true tournament for the store. That way I can focus on running and seeding along with judging. You can still help with rule issues if I am busy. That would be very helpful. Thank you for the offer though. I really am not worried about the ships right now. I have 4 Falcon's, 2 Slave 1's, and 4 each of the other ships on pre-order. I am also not accepting the 2 ships that I would get for running the tournament. We will give them away as drawing prizes after the top 4 picks their ships. Cannot wait till the 15th. Going to be a fun day. Sean

Kessel Run Questions (match time limits)
timewalker03 replied to bwaltersdorff's topic in X-Wing Organized Play
As far as time goes, the tournament rules state between 60-75 minute rounds, which can be adjusted to fit the store needs. 50 minutes is more than enough time to determine a winner in each match. 60 would be enough overall though. Tournamnets have a pressure factor with time, and when you put yourself on a clock, you will make decisions faster also. As far as the 2 build ruling, if your shop determines that is the way they are playing it, then that is the way it is. Tournament rules from Fantasy Flight state one army is played throughout without changes. I don't agree myself with what your store is doing, but it is their choice. Using that setup will create inconsistencies in the tournament since one build may be stronger than the other for a single player. Good luck. I hope you do well. -
Then the best thing you can do is complain to Fantasy Flight and see if they will send out notices. Who knows.
-
In other threads people are complaining. Since the application is no longer availible, I will defer to the store owner's word on wether he can or cannot charge for the event. If this was meant to be a free event, then why did FF charge the stores $60 for the product and event materials? The store as any business has every right to recoup expenses for hosting the event. Not everyone who plays will purchase from the store during the event. If we lose players due to the entry fee so be it. We have a core group of players that come on our scheduled Tuesday nights and it is now 11 + strong and growing each week. It will be a fun event for those who play, or at least I hope it is. Take care and enjoy the event. Sean
-
I realize I can, but there will not be a second TO availible that day. So no I will not be playing.
-
I ran a tournament two weeks ago playing 50 minute rounds due to time constraints. That was more than enough for games to be played. 60 would be optimal. Sean
-
No there will not be a consequence. My question to those complaining about entry fees puzzles me. I am the TO for The Game Shoppe in Bellevue NE. I am not an employee of he store, I vaolunteer my time for this game. I cannot even play in the tournament due to the FF tounament rules. That's col to me as long as the game is being played and people are having fun. Fantasy Flight set the no fee as a guideline not a rule. If Fantasy Flight would have said definately no then stores would not, but I would guarantee fewer stores would have signed up for it. The Kessel run information sheet also states that the TO should get the ships left over. Once again that is a guideline not a definitive rule. I will not be receiving any ships, which is fine with me. I would rather have them be for prizes to recruit more players. If you have a problem with the entry fee, then it is your choice to play or not to play. If you don't like the idea then talk to the store you will be playing at. Just have fun, and enjoy the day. Build your ship list, and practice. Good luck all. Sean Also here is the link to the Kessel Run flyer for the event. Nowhere in it does it state that there is a restriction on entry fees. http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=3721

Yeah It was changed to Saturday. Good luck if I don't see you here.

The KRE will be Saturday December 15th at 2pm. Entry fee will be $10. I will have an official notice on here by Wednesday once all of the details are hashed out. Sean

Add the Game Shoppe in Bellevue NE.
-
Chris, Congrats again. Yeah you will. You did a great job. Kessel Run will be incredible. If your luck holds out you may have a falcon in your hands. I wish I could play for it, but such is the life of the TO. Lol. See you Tuesday.

I would like to thank everyone who came out to Charity Con at the Game Shoppe in Bellevue. We had a great turnout for the tournament. We had 7 players who participated. I would Like to congratulate Chris Brown who won the tournament with 15 points and had 3 complete kills in the tournament. I would also like to congratulate Brendon Franz for coming in second with 10 points. This was a great start to our tournaments at the shop. Next up is the Kessel Run December 16th. Times will be added at a later date. Once again I will be at the shop every Tuesday at 6pm unless otherwise noted via email. Happy hunting! Sean

Just a reminder: Sunday @ 4pm X-wing Tournament. 100 pts. Entry fee 5 can food items. If you have any friends interested, tell them about it. I will demo the game also. Make sure you have 100 pts. and a basic box. Hope to see you there. Sean

Thanks. Just a reminder 6pm this Tuesday. Also Sunday at 4pm we will be hosting a tournament if we get 4 people to show. That's 4 others than me. The entry fee will be 5 can food items or $5. I will bring extra cans if someone forgets. I am still working on prizes. If we want to do actual ships then we will need a monetary entry fee along with the cans. Also, I have other stuff to show everyone on Tuesdays for the tournament season. Also in January we will be starting an X-wing league on Tuesdays, but I have to work out what we will have for an entry fee and the league final prizes. We will have weekly giveaways with some pretty cool stuff. We have 3 kits at the game shoppe so we will have enough prizes for everyone. Please promote the game to your friends. I Will be setting up a site dedicated to the Omaha/Bellevue X-Wing community. I want to see this game grow. Hope to see everyone Tuesday. Sean

John, Like I said I am sorry. I forgot it was election day when I set up the time. I got off work 20 minutes early and stopped by the store to see if anyone was there. I couldn't stay because I had to go vote, and since I do not have direct communication with you I couldn't warn you off. This won't happen again. My schedule is now set at me getting off by 6pm every Tuesday so we can start earlier. Once again I apologize for the oversight. Hope to see you there this next Tuesday.
-
First I want to apologize to anyone who showed up tonight. I forgot tonight was election night. I stopped by the shop until about 6:50 pm but had to leave. If you showed up I am sorry. From now on all Tuesday nights I will be at the shop at 6pm to play. If no one shows by 7pm I will depart then. If you have any questions let me know.
-
Tuesday 7pm if anyone is interested in playing. I should be there shortly after 7.
