Hi everyone!
I saw the vids on this game and thought to myself… WOW! Looks awesome indeed. Great fun it looks. The fact that it's a pre-painted miniatures game was a HUGE plus for me, as my time is limited, and I play enough miniatures games as it is!
Anyway… the game over-all looks amazing. Game play seems really refreshing and simple. However… I do have one concern. First off… I am not a HUGE Star wars fan (dodging behind cover at this point!), but I do like the feel and look of this game. My concern is if this game can keep a nooobb (that is NEW to the rules, as well as Star wars genre) interested! I am thinking this game may be a lil on the light side as far as rules and tac. options. (not saying it is overly simple game).
I know the game is still new, but I am sure there are a good number of players out there already who have a good many battles under their belts already. What do you guys think about this? Also… what rules are there to keep the game refreshing? Campaigns? Scenario generators?
Would love some feed back. Danka

I think it's a well expected update. As far as the board changes… well, the 3D mountains were stupid. Not worth paying the extra $ for. So I don't mind that change. The 'interlocking' hexes… NICE! SO many times pieces would shift about messing things up. Makes for a much more solid 'game-board' feel if you ask me. And the rules update. Yeah, that's also a plus, as with ALL games. It's good to see the game is still alive with an update like this.
I do feel FFG has probs though with putting things out in a proper time. They have always had probs with this. Sad really.
Anyway… I can't wait, and all the changes they mention I had expected long ago. I am just happy the game still has value to FFG. I would hate to see this game slowly fade away.

A Nooob 'thinking' of getting into X-Wing!

Yeah… that's what I was thinking. I'm not BIG on the Star Wars thing… but I love the way the game is played. Looks very dynamic, with a 'not knowing what the opponent is going to do' factor running very high; nice!
Thanks for the feedback.
Question, is there any kind of 'campaign' play in the rules? Something that can link battles together… perhaps like an experience reward system?
