  1. It's been awhile since this thread has seen the front page. There are tons of new players who could use this guide to help get started.
  2. I know it would increase the app size and not everyone would like it but having the narrator read all the text would be great. There is also times when I have accidentally passed a monster attack or horror check. Being able to head back to that point would be helpful.
  3. I own all the expansion for the 1st edition and tried the add to my collection and still only have the 4 scenarios.
  4. It's once again time to come to play X-Wing with us at Underhill's Games in Cuyahoga Falls, OH this Saturday July 9th. Here is a SocialMeeples.com link to show you are joining the event: https://socialmeeples.com/display-event/195 . All the event details are on the description of the event.

  6. Ramy, Got your request and approved The Goblin Traders, can't wait to see some events happens in Ironton
  7. I'm a big fan of both FFG products Mansions Of Madness and XCOM. One of the reasons we don't get Mansion to the table as often as I'd like is the setup time. This can be a bit tedious as it can take upwards of 30 mins. I feel as though there could be a way to allow all the players to play vs the game as in the way XCOM does it. Having an app just tell you what map to setup and you just tell it what characters your using. As the players move around the app can be updated and it would tell a story as each investigator ties their turn . There would need to be more adjustments but it could be fun.
  8. Mitchell, we do have the system very close to taking Canada and the UK. Where are you from?
  9. "Looking for players" is a common theme is X-Wing and board gaming in general. Trying to find enough people to gather to play a game is sometimes difficult. I've created https://socialmeeples.com to help solve this issue. On Social Meeples you can create a game meet up at your local game store to find other players in your area that like the same game as you. If you don't see your local game shop on Social Meeples, be sure to show the shop the site so you can start building a great X-Wing community in your area.

  11. Come join us this Saturday May 14th for an X-Wing Organized Play event at Underhill's Games in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. This event will be the standard format of 100 point squads. The doors open at noon with first round paring at 1pm. An entry fee of $5 will be collected when you register your squad. All money collected for the event will be given away as prizes for this event. I hope to see you all there.
  12. Back to the top! Bumping this for any new players who have not had the chance to read through my guide on becoming a better pilot. The game has change so much since my last update. https://socialmeeples.com is now up and running and I would like to ask the community to help me with my new project. Go check out the site I've built to help find gamers in your area and play more X-Wing. We have just gotten started but we want to get as many locations on the site as we can. So if you play X-Wing at your local game store, tell them about Social Meeples and see if they will create an account and register their business. This will allow you to create events to play X-Wing whenever you find time during your busy schedule. Other people from around your area will be able to see the events and come join you in some "Pwe, Pwe" fun. Be sure to also check out our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/socialmeeples/ where you can watch some short videos explaining how the site works.
  13. Hello fellow gamers, I've been quiet on these boards for awhile as I've had my head down working on a project. I started the thread https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/110115-earning-your-wings-a-guide-for-understanding-movment/?p=1143721 because I had a desire to help build a better community. That desire still drives me today as I'm proud to announce the project I've been working on is now open to public beta. https://socialmeeples.com is a way for hobby table top gamers to organize meet ups for a single use event to play a game. This will make it easier to set up X-Wing games so a wide range of people can see the event and come join you. The goal I was trying to solve was the lack of people to play with. So please if you get the chance head over to socialmeeples.com and create an account. Since we have just started the list of places to play are limited. If you don't see your local game shop where you play X-Wing on the map for Store Locator or Create Event be sure to show this site to the owner or manager of that location so they can create an account and request the location be added to the system. The form for new locations to be added is under the request tab and a web form to fill out to submit the location for approval. Once the location is added to the system you can create your X-Wing event or any other FFG game and go play. This will make it easy to play games, where you want and when you want. Be sure to also give us a like on Facebook so you can keep up with the latest developments from Social Meeples.
  14. At some point FFG needs to release a guide for T.O.'s on how to handle different levels of rules infractions. The game has grown enough where this kind of things is long over due.
  15. This whole thing is so easy to solve once and for all. Every player is required to use the players dice whom won initiative. If both players are using the same set of dice it lessons the chance someone would want to bring loaded or favored dice. FFG could easily fix this issue. I know, I've seen my far share of questionable dice.
  16. For anyone who has been following this waiting for an update, I'm sorry this thread has fallen silent. In Oct 2014 I had an idea to build somethings for the gaming community. Partly because of this thread. I've enjoyed helping everyone learn how to play better games of X-Wing. I had many things to study up and learn as the project I set forward for myself was very grand and has taken me away from being able to do things like keep up on this forum. SocialMeeples.com is the project I've been working on. You can learn about it from the Facebook page I set up here: https://www.facebook.com/socialmeeples/. The idea was to make it very simple to find other people to play games with. The largest challenge of the tabletop gaming hobby is having people ready to play. We organize ourselves into groups and meet ups to help solve this problem. Even event posting on Facebook looking for people to play. Socialmeeples will make the task of getting in games of X-Wing, Armada and Imperial Assault easy. Check it out and give me some likes. The site should be up and running very soon.
  17. Considering how things go I really don't think a Modified Win should be worth so much more than a Draw. By that same token why should barely being outscored be just as bad as being completely eliminated? A full win awards 5 total points, a modified win only awards 3 total points and a draw just 2 total points; keep the full win advantage at 5 points but move Modified Wins and Draws up to 4 points total. That would allow a person with a modified win to earn 80% of the match points while only beating their opponent by around 10% of the total possible margin or less. Does that seem more fair? I actually think the points awarded now are pretty accurately representing the outcome-- a very close but not dominant win, barely better than a draw (in terms of the final score). I also think that getting rid of the modified win completely encourages less aggressive play by the player that is ahead by just a small margin. I'm not saying scoring improvents shouldn't/couldn't be made but I don't think those are it, or at least would require additional changes in the ranges of what constitutes a modified win, etc.. Why having scoring at all? If you fail to eliminate your opponent in the time allowed and they failed to eliminate you it's a draw, other wise a win. Get rid of the scoring system completely. This will encourage more offensive play as the focus of the game should be destroy your opponents ships. Forget half points, margin of victory and modified wins, this will make it much more stream like and would have solved the problem of the two ship builds long ago as they would have lacked the offensive power to eliminate a full squad in time.
  18. It's time once again to crown a new Store Champion. On Saturday Feb 13th Underhill's Games in Cuyahoga Falls, OH will be hosting a Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Store Championship. 19. Jeff Kaos, on 18 Dec 2015 - 08:38 AM, said: Okay so I know the Windows phones isn't all that popular but c'mon, people still use it. Not even an app for Kindle? Kindle is probably the second most popular tablet out there. I understand I can run the app from my computer but hell if I did that I'd just play the **** video game. Sorry if I sound angry but I really wanted this game but it seems like FF doesn't want me to. Any word on if they plan on making the app available to everyone? you made a thread about the app not being available on Windows Phone. Complained about the lack of Kindle support. Then 3 weeks later come back to say you purchased the game and feel ripped off that it does not work on kindle? I have many friends who enjoy this game and even after a year from it's release it finds it's way to the table now and then. I'm sorry you never got the chance to experience the game the way it was designed to be played. I for one hope that FFG keeps exploring the mixing of chipboard and cardboard as the possibilities are endless.
  20. If I have predator and Howlrunner effects on a roll can I use both effects to reroll different dice? I'm sure the answer is no but was looking for the example in the FAQ and didn't see it.
  21. Come Join us at Underhill's Games in Cuyahoga Falls OH this Saturday Jan 9th for an X-Wing event. This event will be 100pts standard with a $5 entry fee. The Doors open at 12pm and first round pairings will be at 1. The Next month event will Be store championship on Feb 13th. So this will be your chance to get in some practice before claiming the crown in February. I hope to see you all there!
  22. I personally have never had a ship peg break in the 3+ years of playing this game. FFG is really awesome at offering replacement pieces for pegs and stands if you just contact them on the support page. They will almost certainly send you a replacement base and stand if needed.
  23. He should cost 3 points and read, at the beginning of combat if pilot Han Solo is within range one, Han Solo is destroyed.
  24. Star Wars fans are the toughest fan base around. No matter what movie came out half the fan base would reject it. Am I surprised by the reactions, No. You could have almost written the reviews for this movie from a fans perspective 6 months ago. Star Wars fans unlike any other fan base actually hate Star Wars. They stand in a corner with their arms wrapped around the 'Original Trilogy" denying anything else exists movies wise. We see this even with this game as FFG moved into the EU for ships. How many times did we see a thread about the HWK when it was first revealed about how they wouldn't buy it because it was not in the movies. Lucas lived in this wild fandom of Star Wars and sure he was happy to let it go if nothing else then to get out of the crosshairs of the fans. Star Trek fans are equally as passionate for their franchise. You would never here that fan base talk about Gene Roddenberry as the Tar Wars fans talk about George Lucas. You can almost hear Lucas saying "see I told you" to disney after some of the fan reactions. So for those with their arms wrapped tightly around the "Original Trilogy" they have made more bad movies now then good ones. You have to ask yourself, are you really a Star Wars fan?
