  1. Lighten up everyone. The old EU is not "thrown out". It is as it ever was. The "Legends" of the old EU are still on the table, existing as simultaneously true, false, and "maybe". I call it Schroodinger's Ewok. The Story Group at Disney can lift, shift, edit, retcon, rewrite, beg, borrow, or steal any portion of it in part or in whole as they see fit. A 100% original content EU-free New Canon is NOT going to happen, they are too lazy and it would take too much work. They are already dipping into EU and recanonizing things. (It is official Fett Lives........AGAIN) Until and unless directly contradicted by a new piece of Canon media, everything has still happened...or at least still CAN happen....from a Certain Point of View. As that new Canon comes out, you will see more than you thought get a nod and a wink than a vibro-axe.
  2. Lemme throw some kerosene on the fire.... I was witness/participant in the GenCon tournament Special Star Wars space battle event some 10 or so years ago where a 50x50 (that's feet folks) area was set up with a TO SCALE Fleet engagement around a 6' long ISD. It was (marginally) mobile on the field, and the assorted battlegroup craft were every thing from MicroMachine scale Starfighters (in 4-fighter wings on 5' pedestal sticks, with 3D elevation adjustment) to Blockade runners, MC80s, Dreadnaughts and others. It was awesome. It was epic, and it was incredibly niche. Good and playable at a Convention special tournament is not playable on the kitchen table. That will be the driving force behind their scale/wave discussions and release of rules for SSD in any flavor of the FFG fighting ships games. I can get behind the idea that in an Armada or lower scale game the SSD is represented by a Terrain feature, or is the actual Playmat the battle rages around. I can get behind the idea of an Armada SSD at 16" or so (LOG sliding scale) and just expect that scale of play to be on Gaming Hall tables, not kitchen tables. There "it fits". I can get behind a super-capital ship scale combat where 1" ISDs are attached in squadron fashion to cluster bases rallying around a 10" Executor class SSD, with full wings of 72 fighters, or full squadrons of 12 fighters being reduced to a token count or an area hazard like the Debris field.
  3. Here is the thing folks, the EU (Legends) is NOT gone into the ether, discontinued, dissolved or eradicated. Consider that all of the EU is now SHROODINGER'S EWOK. Everything in the EU remains a viable pool of data, lore, and stories to be tapped by the current administration of the Star Wars Story Group for Disney, and they ALREADY are tapping that pool for ideas. Everything in Legends status exists now as it ever has, simultaneously True, False, and/or containing a Kernel of Truth. Things in the EU from now on have mostly equal chances of being Edited, rewritten, referenced, borrowed, deleted, or confirmed, as they see fit. The parts MOST at risk are the NR/NJO era items as they are being in direct conflict with the new Trilogy. But even in there, some things from EU are already Re-Canonized. Fett Lives, remember? All the (4 if you were counting) previous versions of Fett's escape/survival from the Sarlaacc have been your basic Bar Tales of fellas sitting around swapping "Legends" of "Oh, I heard ....." or "No pudu, there I was and.....". But with the revelation/reference/use by a New Canon source (Battlefront), you have the fella that comes in and says "What REALLY happened was...." Any bits of the EU that do not have a project directly assigned to them (unlike Solo's Origin, The DS Plans Mission, Rebels era, and The Post-quells) are pretty much safe. Even in Old canon we had to deal with convoluted mishaps in continuity, how do you think the Solos ended up with three kids? Now we will get the "true" version of events, while everything that has come before was given in the "Certain Point of View" of a third party.
  4. Slow Clap for "The Modern Star Wars Admiral." Well played m'lord!
  5. 04. “Lose Myself” by Nom Anor Look, if you had one shot, one opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted…One moment Would you capture it or just let it slip? His armor’s sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy There’s blood out on the stage already, where’s the Jedi He’s nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready To drop bombs, but he’s still misrepresentin’ What he broke down, the whole crowd goes so loud He opens his mouth, but the truth won’t come out He’s chokin’, and everybody’s knowin’ now The clock’s run out, time’s up over, blow! Snap back to mortality, Oh there goes gravity Oh, it’s Nom Anor, He choked, he’s so mad, but he won’t give up that easy No? He won’t have it, he knows the whole Republic’s nodes It don’t matter, no hope He knows that, he’s no dope He’s so wired in control When he goes back to his Master’s home, that’s when it’s Back on the rack again, no This whole spy biz He better go capture this Jedi and hope it don’t kill him I better lose myself in the movement, the moment I own it, I better never let ‘em go I only get one shot, do not miss my chance to throw This opportunity comes once in a lifetime, No! Solo’s escaping, through that hole there it’s gaping These worlds are mine for the taking I’m a king, Emperor of a, ‘Nuther New Order A normal Vong is borin’, but the Invasion’s close to post mortem It only grows harder, only grows hotter He throws us all over, these infidel slaughter Back to back foes, he drinks blood on the altars Jedi robes? They’re no Gods even so He grows poison at home, he’s everyone’s plotter He owns you and plays every side on the other But hold your prose ‘cause here goes the cold water His warmaster want’s him no mo’, he’s on notice They moved on to the next goal who knows His plans fold and go Jabba So the battle it grows and unfolds And suppose there’s no back way to leave the attack Da Da Da Dum, Da Da Dum, Da Da Dum (Imperial Theme) I better lose myself in the movement, the moment I own it, I better never let ‘em go I only get one shot, do not miss my chance to throw This opportunity comes once in a lifetime, No! No more playin’, Ima change what you call pain Tear this Jedi goddess nonsense into bloody rain I was playin’ in the beginnin’, then it went insane I will bleed you and beat you and bring you shame And I keep on lyin’ and sidestep the trip wire Best believe someone else will be payin’ my piper All the pain a lie to get by in my caste And I sacrifice everything left in my past And I can’t be caught as unfaithful in my betrayal ‘Cause man, these **** Jedi keep flying those fighters And it’s no holo, there’s no Luke Skywalker, this is my life And these lies are so hard and it’s getting even harder Tryin’ to breathe and fake my belief, plus Seein’ horror not up to bein’ a martyr I’m the war starter Baby Ben Mara’s screamin on and Too much for me to bother Stayin’ in one spot, I got to jam I’m not Getting’ enough to get by, I’m on the trail I’ve got to formulate a plot ‘fore I end up in jail or shot Success is the only way I’ll live no option, failure’s not Tsavong is ailing but my failure has got to go It’s my head to fail my master plot So here I go is my shot Fleet fail me not ‘cause maybe the only opportunity that I got I better lose myself in the movement, the moment I own it, I better never let ‘em go I only get one shot, do not miss my chance to throw This opportunity comes once in a lifetime, No! I can do anything I set my mind to, man
  6. Uneasy Flyer – The Tusken Raider Band Uneasy Rider - The Charlie Daniels Band I was takin a trip to Coruscant Toolin along with my Hyper on Tokin on a number and diggin on the holonet Just as I crossed the Mandalorian line I heard that hyperdrive start to whine And I knew that coolant line was about to blow Well the spares were shot and I got uptight Cause there wasn't an astromech in sight So I just limped on in to somewhere outer rim I went as far as I could and when I found a star I was right in front of this little bar Kind of a nerf-herd lookin joint called the Dew Flap Inn I stuffed my saber up under my vest And told the bartender that he had a guest And would he be kind enough to take my creds for a call There was one thing I was sure proud to see There wasn't a soul in the place except for him and me He just looked disgusted and pointed toward the holocomm I called up the station down the well a ways He said he wasn't very busy today And he could have somone out there in just about 10 cycles or so He said," Now, you just stay right where yer at!" And I didn't bother to tell the chu-ba That I sure as hell didn't have anyplace else to go So I ordered up a beer and sat down by the gate When some guy walked in and said, "Who owns this Crate With the peace sign, the comm dish and quads on the hull?" He looked at me and I **** near died And I decided that I'd just wait outside So I laid a credit on the bar and headed for the port Just when I thought I'd get outta there with my skin These 3 Wookiees come strollin in With one old drunk Squib chick and some fella with green skin I was almost to the door when the biggest one Said, "You take a bow to this lady, son!" And when I did, that lightsaber fell out from underneath Now the last thing I wanted was to get into a fight In Mid-level Nar Shadda on a Saturday night Especially when there was four of them and only one of me They all started laughin and I felt kinda sick And I knew I better think of something pretty quick So I just reached out and kicked old green skin right in the knee Now he let out a yell that'd curl yer hair But before he could move I grabbed me a chair And said "Now watch him Folks cause he's a fairly dangerous thing!" "You may not know it but this man is a spy. He's a undercover agent for the SBI And he's been sent down here to infiltrate the Hutt Kadjiic!" He was still bent over holdin on to his knee But everybody else was looking and listening to me And I laid it on thicker and heavier as I went I said "Would you believe this man has gone as mean As slappin Incom stickers on the hulls of YTs. And he voted for Bail Organa for Chancellor." "He's a friend of them long haired, jedi-type, Rebel bands! I betchya he's even got Republic flags tacked up on the walls inside of his Barloz." "He's a Nek Battle Dog, I tell ya guys. He may look dumb but that's just a disguise, He's a mastermind in the ways of espionage" They started lookin real suspicious at him He jumped up and said "Now just wait a minute Grem! You know he's lying I been living here all of my life!" "I'm a faithful follower of Master Freedon Nadd And I belong to a Mandalore Deathwatch band. And I aint even got a Barloz, you can call home and ask my Droid!" Then he started saying somethin bout the way I was dressed But I didn't wait around to hear the rest I was too busy moving and hoping I didn't run outta luck When I hit the port I was making tracks And they were just setting my ship back on its jacks So I threw the droid a credstik and jumped in and fired that mother up Master Quinlan wouldda sure been proud Of the way I was movin when I passed that crowd Coming out the door and headed toward me at a trot Now I guess I should of gone ahead and run But somehow I just couldn't resist the fun Of chasing them all just once around the cantina Well they headed for their ship but I hit the jets And spun around and headed them off with the best I was swingin’ blasters and puttin’ a ton of dust in the air Ha Ha! I had them all out there steppin and fetchin Like their pelts was on fire and their asses was catchin Then I figgered I had better go ahead and split before the Imps got there When I hit the sky I was really screamin Had Ions fryin and repulsors squeelin And I didn't slow down till I was almost to Arkania I think I'm gonna reroute my trip I wonder if anybody'd think I'd flipped If I went to Bespin, via Onderon
  7. Welcome to the conclusion of our series of top 10 listings that have been compiled from the hottest mainstream and underground hits from the last 50 years. Artists spanning from the last days of the Old Republic, through the Empire and Rebellion, and into the New Republic and the Vong invasion are showcased here. Great things have transpired in the galaxy over the last 50 years, and that of course means we have had some great music as well. In these broadcasts, we will present the greatest hits that have been repressed for generations. Compositions that will survive the eons, that endured the wrath of war, and will reanimate the sentient and the romantic in all of us. Classic themes that carried the flame of the Rebel Alliance lie alongside the undeniable mastery of the Imperial propaganda machine. While state sponsorship helped entrench some of these classics, the creative passions of artists who lived one step ahead of the secret police have carved an indelible print across the cultures we celebrate today. And hey, don’t think the archives are the only representatives in our show! We have an astounding array of the hottest holovideos that are blazing over sub-space right now. From refugee charity concerts that are trying to cheer the displaced masses from the invasion to the novaflare backlash at the cracks forming in the New Republic. We have it all here for you with the inside comm, your backstage pass to the immortal worlds we bring before you tonight. Rankings have been compiled from the affiliate stations on the HoloMusicNet: Holo-Hits One(HH1), Music HoloVideo (MHV), Bothan Entertainment Transmission (BET), and The Naboo Network (TNN). Additional rankings were defined by combining the records of the COMPNOR official and prohibited music archives with recovered documents on the ISB’s counter-insurgency operations. 05. 13. Jedi Connection - Yoda and the Swamp Critters Rainbow Connection - Kermit the Frog Why are there so many Songs about Jedis And what makes them find the Dark Side? The Force brings us visions They're only illusions And Jedis have nothing to hide. So we've been told and some chose to Believe it, But I know they're wrong wait and see. Someday we'll find it, The Jedi Connection, The Light Side, the Dark Side and me Who said that every Sith Was gone and defeated, When Qui-Gon met Maul on Naboo? Somebody thought of that, And someone believed it, And look what it's done to you. What's so amazing, That keeps us far-gazing? What do we think we might see? Someday we'll find it, The Jedi Connection, The Light Side, the Dark Side and me.

  15. Smugglin Ace – CorSector Turn the Page – Bob Seger On a old and lonely freighter, from Corellia You can listen to the engines’s moanin out their one note song You can think about the woman, or the creature from the night before But your thoughts will soon be wandering the way they always do When your jumping sixteen systems and there’s nothing much to do And you don’t feel much like flyin’, you just wish the trip was through But here I am, with a load again Here I am, in hyperspace Here I go, flyin’ the stars again There I go, Smugglin’ Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa’ce When you walk into a cantina, thinkin’ bout your hold And you feel the eyes upon you, as you’re shaking off the cold You pretend it doesn’t bother you, but you rigged it to explode Sometimes you can’t hear ‘em squawk, other times you can All the same ol’ cliches: is that a Gungan or a man? And you always seem outnumbered, so you don’t dare make a stand But here I am, with a load again Here I am, in hyperspace Here I go, flyin’ the stars again There I go, Smugglin’ Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa’ce Out there in the starlight, you’re a billion miles away Every ounce of energy, you try to hoard away And the sweat pours from your body, are your forgeries okay? Later in the evening, as you lie awake in bed With the echoes of the turbolasers, ringin’ in you head As the smoke begins to clear away, you remember what she said But here I am, With a load again! Here I am, Hyperspace Here I go, Flyin’ the stars again There I go, In Hyperspace Aww here I am, With a load again! Here I aaaam, In Hyyyyyperspace Here I go, Flyin’ the stars again There I go, There Iiiiiiiiii go....
