Building a Character “Wrong”.

What house rule are you talking about ? And how long haven't you read the SW RPG character creation rules ? Because starting XPs are the only XPs that can be used to raise attributes directly. And the 10 XPs bonus you can get at character creation counts as starting XPs and can be used for raising attributes. -
Form Complement for Makashi
WolfRider replied to FelixFenix's topic in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG
Before Elias says it 😉, Niman Disciple is a good form to complement any other form. Because it gives +1 FR and Dedication talents. But for a duellist character I'd choose Shien expert. Because it gives Parry and Reflect so can build a good defence. And it gives capacity to counterstrike. Something very important if you specialise in duelling. -
If FFG was already owned by Asmodée, then WEG can sue under French copyright laws. And by those laws WEG must receive royalties for the reprint of their works. That includes ALL authors who contributed to those works.

A little advice about Hope and Destroying Hop

Thanks. I haven't read Darth Vador comics. I don't even know if they were published in France. -

Star Wars Me: If I Were A 2000 Earned XP Jedi

Ebb / Flow is the most useful Force Power whatever your Force Rating or your F&D specialities. Just read the long text description of the base power and it's upgrade. You can manage strain and recover it quite easily. Given how using the Force, with Talent or Power, cost strain; It's invaluable to be able to recover strain quickly. -
I admit that trading a 33% chance of getting a success for a guaranteed success might be a good choice if there's more purple / red dices than green / yellow dices in your dice pool. But other than that case it's better to keep your boost dices in the dice pool. You have 2 / 6 chance to obtain two symbols or the same chance to obtain nothing. Perhaps my players have a gamblers mind but they really prefer to roll the dices. And to be clear I'm not agreeing with Tramp Graphics. For me it's clear that given how Clanker Killer is written, the choice must be made before the roll. But I strongly disagree with that and I think that if the talent choose after the roll it'll be better.
-
How this talent is worded, the player must choose before the roll between adding sucess or advantages for each removed boost dice, makes it useless. I've n,ever met a player who'll accept to sacrifice dices for something that might or might not e useful. All prefer to to roll those dices if they can't get a guaranteed result.
-
Your GM is very nice to let you reroll dice until you get the desired result. With me if a player choose to roll dice he / she is bound to accept the result. No reroll allowed.

Usually when something is found when a search happens, it's because those doing the search were informed there is something to be found and where to find it.

Help with Padawan/Knight/Lightsaberform Build
WolfRider replied to HeleonWoW's topic in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG
To much "if" in @EliasWindrider answer. And "if" my aunt had a pair I'd call her uncle. I don't understand a way of thinking that prefers to inflict wounds rather than crits directly. For me a spec with talents that allow you trigger easily a roll on the crit table, is the best option for a melee / lightsaber combat oriented character. Especially if that character has the Jedi career, so use Brawn as the attribute for lightsaber rolls, I think a lightsaber form spec based on Brawn fits better than another one based on Agility or Willpower. That's why I recommended Juyo Berserker as an alternative for Niman Disciple and Ataru Stricker. Another reason is that one of PCs in my current F&D campaign is a Warrior who spent 200 xp in Juyo berserker, 150 xp in Steel Hand, the rest of her 500 xps (150 from knight level + 350 earned in game) were spent in raising Lightsaber and discipline to 4 and in some other skills, buying some Force Power, including Enhance for the Force Jump. She used her 2 Dedications to raise Brawn and Willpower to 4. That means she rolls Discipline and Lightsabber check at 4 yellow dice. A true killing machine when fighting erupt. A lot less useful for diplomacy. But she's a Mandalorian Human who prefer talk with her lightsaber than her mouth.😁 -
Help with Padawan/Knight/Lightsaberform Build
WolfRider replied to HeleonWoW's topic in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG
So for you crit is not damage ? Could you explain why ? With a lightsaber's breach quality it isn't a problem to pass soak. Or perhaps I'm wrong when I let the breach quality negate 10pts of soak ? -
Help with Padawan/Knight/Lightsaberform Build

Take Juyo Berserker if you really must take a LS form that wasn't chosen by other players. This spec doesn't seem to be appreciated on this forum and very rarely suggested. Imo, I think it's better than Ataru for delivering damage without Ataru's glass canon flaw. But with some darkside talents that add flavour to a character rather than being a flaw. Soresu is very good too. The only spec with the Supreme Parry talent and the 6 rank of Parry to buy. With those already bought in the Padawan and Knight specs, your character will be nearly impossible to hit in melee. And will be able to regularly to riposte and damage his opponents. -
Buying and Selling: Refusing the Deal.
WolfRider replied to immortalfrieza's topic in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG
One check per item. It makes things simpler. I only add difficulty dices to the pool when the rules say to do it. Otherwise I prefer to upgrade and / or add setback dices to make the check more difficult.
