Best Troops players got: Mutiator - rarely used pyromancer coven - rarely used Tzeench daemon bound Silvertower - got for terror tactic/ground support cant be fielded with nurgle daemon-engine Nurgle daemon-bound defiler - actively used good for terror tactic/infantry Warp Talons - most effective unit they hired Chaos Space Marines - untrustworthy, always whining ,irresponsible bunch of super-soldiers just like the player characters.... Human disciple of chaos, Renegades, Pirates, Lost and Damned troops - numerous devoted followers ideal for mechanized warfare (thanks, jets, artillery, etc) dies very quickly Worst enemies they stands against, Greater daemon of Tzeench, Lord of Change: Oba 'mhara Sorceres, chaos spykers Khorne daemon engine Brass Scorpion Rak 'gol mobs Rubric Marines Phase Assassin Imperial Knights
  2. "You might be thinking of something else?" That is our interpretation of the machine trait rule.... Mechanicus Assimilation 20 and other gamey quirks is one of the exit signs in our games....
  3. Also You cant have more as much machine trait as your Tougness bonus. But again haywire granade.... Seriously dude start reading the armory and arm your goons properly....
  4. Enemies can have powerfield weapons. Sometimes they can destroy it. Some times The heretech can gets a sidequest to repair it. Some times enemies can have haywire grande... You now the drill....
  5. Use the table from Tome of Corruption. (WFRP II) If you have the guts... > roll from the animalistic features table. Or just made up one...
  6. I think it could be more easy to go with the archetype system. Faster and Easier. Only Thing to change is the affinities there are plenty of variations for that in this very forum site if you take your time and start digging... Of course you can change some rules, combat and maybe skills and talents. Basically I suggest drop the backgound system If not necessary. But If that badly needed change all of the archetypes for one.
  7. Also imagine how easily can it backfire: Let's say the priest managed to pull it and killed the corrupted heretic with it. Hurray no the priest unconscious. (as the power work:"(effectively knocking him unconscious and causing him to collapse)"). Oh well the heretic just burn Infamy return with 1 wound and R'ape/infect/maim&burn/corrupt the priest. So maybe re doing the cost could be necessary to.....
  8. Soulstorm is not a psychic power it is originated from the faith in the Emperor. It Is a Faith power. Shoer answer is Yes it do damage 1d10+Corruption point ignoring Tougness Bonus and armour. (also power field corresponding to the meaning of the power). Also keep in mind it is a different system with different scale. I may swap the corruption point to Corruption bonus to get a workable faith power.....
  9. Make a top level Deathwach brother and stat out to became a leader (Watch Captain) or chief Libarian (Epistolary). Or lurk the Deathwatch books for a stand in npc. (Probably: The Jericho Reach, The Achilus Assult).
  10. There are several ways to balance the game. First off all never ever take away anything from the characters. You can limit what they get, this also a way to help out charaters if needed.(I do not belive in cripling the starting archetypes, Balancing in the live game a better idea) The main difference is in combat. Simply add +50 opponents per Chaos Space Marine (or any other number try low (as 20) then increase the numbers. (Joe the renegade takes the 5 imperial guard in the right, Jake the Chaos Space Marine takes other 50 on the left.) Or give them other more serious opponents. Other thing is Social encounters from Tome of Excess, fun for every one. About players with CSM Characters: Every other warband member expect them to be monsters on the battleflied, so losing is harsher for them. Also They made and destenied to be warriors, so no whining and bitching about hordes. Thats they job to cut them down....

  13. Well Black Crusade not really has any sort of class system just a starting archetype set. So after you start the game for example as nurgle marine you do your job, meet new interesting people you got introduced to an Obliterator cult. It is love for the first time true and wonderful so the elevate your rotten meat-shell to a glorious new form. The end.

  15. Than say hello to my little friend the las-cannon. One shot marine-maimer... You seems to think pretty much about daemons. They are just change coins in the eye of they gods. Countless of them die every moment in the Daemon worlds and birth as many if not more in the instant moment.... These are the lesser Daemons. Of course the have stuff of nightmares which can protect against radiation. For Necron toaster arms see haywire which cause microwave or electromagnetic radiation, which in a lower frequency then laser or radiation. Well yeah seems Necron warriors and any other Machine trait bearer can me toasted with a microwave-oven (a really big one, I look at you warp-smiths) So: Can a las-cannon kill a Necron or a Daemon? Or Possible to harm a Machine trait owner whit a haywire weapon?
  16. So wrapping things to gather: Daemons (Daemonic trait) and machines (Machine trait) should not be immune to the effects of irradiated weapons. Undying and Stuff of Nightmares could work. Also Stuff of Nightmares protects against environmental hazards which is a wider area so the likeness is increased....
  17. You shuffle things like spaceship technology and cybernetics. It does not make your statement valid. One was purpose built to withstand environmental hazards other to replicate or enchant human physiology. In Black Crusade irradiated weapons are commonly Daemon engines which give a slaanesh about the self damage as Stuff of nightmares or common sense to holding a some what stable weapon or they are grenades and missles which unleash radiation after they explode. More i think about the topic stuff of nightmares will protect in my games but undying and machine will not. (Of course power armour and other environmentally sealed and sealed against space suit will help as always. From the gaming Fallout side I will go with the Desolators from Red Alert 2-3.

By ionization, causing electrical breakdown, particularly in semiconductors employed in electronic equipment, with subsequent currents introducing operation errors or even permanently damaging the devices. Many of the radiation effects on materials are produced by collision cascades and covered by radiation chemistry. Also Radiation is more like an environmental hazard rather than a kind of poison....(like fire, acid.....)
  19. The Irradiated weapons remove the base Toughness of any creature not the Bonus granted from Daemonic or Machine Trait. Machine grant Armour points Daemonic grant extra Toughness bonus they are unaffected. Undying and Stuff of Nightmares are another case. I think undying protects from toxins and poisoning interpreted in a more traditional meaning. The stuff of Nightmares as it contains " most environmental hazards" actually could protect against radiation. But I'm not that kind of a Gm...
  20. 2nd half is a big if as I see. What if players gain lots of Degree of success on the binding or breaking and gets +30-60 to the mastery test, What if they call the shots from far away of the daemon (lik 10 meter) what if they got cultist to help and souls to offer.....? Don't get it wrong what you wrote and what i wrote still possibilities....

Note that some skill, talent, combat rule, weapon quality etc, has changed from Deathwatch to Black Crusade Also add a special rule from the Helbrute: Tome of Excess page 108. Crazed: (0) Wp test when suffering Damage (-10 to the test for every full 5 point of damage). If Failed: Charge the colest enemy if they are charge Range also become Frenzied. If there is no enemy in charge range the character spend a full action and attack twice with all of his ranged weapons the nearest foe or ally. After it i think you can play but as always ask and work to gather with your GM..... (maybe do not select archetype and keep some special rule, trait from previous character role, background)
  22. Lesser Daemons not really a match for even starter CSM characters or a bit advanced human disciples of Chaos. Between them and the greater ones are a messy part of the food chain. Heralds, somewhat daemon Troops (mutilators, warp talons) which can be safe to summon...
  23. Hi. As the Mark of Nurgle says GM could grant other traits from the Mark. It could be a way to aquire a disease. Also one of the most iconic disease, the Nurgle's Rot can be granted as a Reward of Nurgle.
  24. For carnality the characters could try to dance to some slanneshi demon-music....and/or dodge the sonic waves...
