  1. I always thought Non-elves were banned from Ulthuan, but reading on the history of the kings of the elves that ruling was removed. So in theory you could have non elves visiting Ulthuan.  I doubt they let them wander around unescorted or populate the place.  But be a good way to have the party sail there to learn some knowledge that the High Elves may have.

    What adventures would you create? Is it a High Elf adventure on the isle, or one in the Old world for any race.

    A scholar of Hoeth, with escort, being taken around the Empire. For a secretive reason.

    Seems elves live 2500 years,  Is the current year 2521? If so the High Elves left the old world in -1589, 4110 years ago. So in theory, a dying High Elf citizen with no family could hire the adventures to seek knowledge of his Wood Elf siblings that was separated at that time. To give them a heirloom, will etc. Only dwarven and wood elves would have the history of that time, and wood elf history is from songs.  Thinking on this I see so many problems. with the knowledge of that time. Maybe theres a dark elf family member chasing the party to steal the heirloom.

    Shipwrecked Elf found by the party, lost and alone, needs to be escorted back to civilization.

    I can picture so many fun ways to create an adventure and even a campaign, wish my English skills were good enough :/ . The Enemy Within type campaign, set using High elves, dwarves, empire, wood elves  and with the dark elves as the secret enemy.

     

     

     


  2. I have the Creature Guide with me and am trying to create an attack by a pack of wild animals. My problem is there seem to be a lack of beasts listed,  11 are listed.  No big cats are mention, even though I know panthers and lions exist.  Maybe they came out in a later product?  But there are great wolves listed, but no normal wolves.

    Did 2nd Edition have a larger creature pool than 3rd edition?

     

    In the campaign i am trying to convert, i have king wolves( a type of mutant wolf) and greater king wolves ( a more successful larger mutant wolf), human wolf mutants ( the merging of wolf parts to a human). The last type of creature will be a mutant merging of daemon and wolf. The chaos sorcerer has a wolf fetist it seems. But so far I only have a greater wolf to use as a base stat creature.

    I thought it be a simple matter of getting the basic creature and adding a template to create the new wolf, hybrid etc.

     

    Anyone got any ideas what a basic wolves, stats would be? or an older product with lots of warhammer beasts in it.

    Why when I read this, did I think of a loyal npc to the villian, dives into the path of the arrow, and takes one for the boss.

    But I have had players I played with who just kill the villian without waiting for any communication, one time thats when they found out it was just a decoy. A thrall to his mistress. Too many villians geting killed before their evil speech was getting annoying, took ages writing thsoe speeches.

    I did many, including the Handmaidens and a whole path sailor->mate->captain->admiral

    Still, when a player of mine wants to play an elf, we work hard on justifying why his character is in the Old World.

     

    Opps, must have missed over the Handmaidens. Must have read over it when looking through the Many careers you created.


  5. Okay now for another puzzlement.

    I am now using my laptop with the files I had working on Friday, before i copied them to my home computer and uploaded to google docs.

    As you know the home computer execution of Strange eons 3 and the files gives error when you open the saved file.

    The problem I have is this, the laptop files give no errors at all. I can save, i can reopen those saves.  There are no mission tabs.

     

    Solutions

    1. The seext files when copied over were corrupted somehow.

    2. My strange eons on the laptop works better than the one on my desktop. Its 3550a. Minimum addons.

    3. Tzeentch is real.

     

    I will try copying the files over again tonight when finished work.  Since the error happened from copying via usb drive, will see where the error happened.

     

     


  6. I did find out something when i reseached version two and opening old files. In liberfanactia

    The  save file remembers the data of the old card. so for exampel i changed the cards to have a fourth and fifth talent slot. The program when it loads the file, look for this information and throws up an error, because when the file was saved it didnt have those slots.

    It makes it hard to rewrite old cards. Save as after changing the error fields makes it work again though.

     

    This means anything I coded to improve the old files gives errors when opening older files, but should display the data so you can resave it correctly.

    Career card is the one giving those error in version 2 when opening an older file. Ignore the errors and resave the file, hopefully should fix it..

    Teach me if ever making or editting a file to rename it to something like "careers vrs 2"

     

    But in version 3 i get errors in both files when loading a save file. So I think somehow the save isnt linking the data correctly when it opens the java script.

     

     

     

     


  7. OKay i tested, nothing saved will open all the tabs, they give errors.

    Save is built into the program, not sure how to get round this. Seems doesnt like a few commands two_faces for one

     

    I cannot get access to the Strange eons forums, he hasnt replied to my request for the code to allow to register to the forums. I think only the creator of  Strange eons can solve this problem.

    Sorry. will try again to get access tohis forums.

    Sorry I dont understand this error. I didnt create the file just changed two lines so it would work correctly.

     

    I checked both nemesis cards in version 3, wfrp3_adds and liberfanactica.  Seem to be fine.  I dont see anythiing called organizations

     

    Second post, you mean opening a saved file gives the error? I dont know how the that works, will look into it


  9. wfrp3_adds i have fixed, just havent uploaded it.

    the Liber one needs to be looked at as the text seems to have been messed up a bit.

     

    one of your errors is its looks for w3e.seext and you dont seem to have it.

     

    I can only really look at the code when I have free time at work.

    I have put a post somewhere saying how to fix wrp3_adds and w3e so they dont show the main error and where to find the mising font

     

     


  10. Went to a 2nd hand bookstore found this adventure book for an rpg called Deathstalkers, never heard of it, the GM seems to felt he needed to write on most of the pages but thought I try convert it to wrfg.

     

    Question I have are.

    Do cursed items, things you cannot drop until remove curse is cast on you, exist in warhammer? IF not, how would you work around it?

     

     

    Think I will simply convert it to a dwavern hold occupied with a chaos sorcerer necromancer. Due to the chaos mutants and undead.

     


  11. I hope they answer your question. Funny how you can read something and see it a different way.

     

    I thought it meant each party member could add one damage to the action.  So if 4 in party it be a max of 4 damage. Never thought of how a party could make your own attack do more damage.

    But your way of reading it is the most likely way of reading it. Sounds very overpowering.

     


  12. I am near 100% sure i have it fixed so that the seext files work in EoN version 3.

     

    Which file do you think I should fix?

    wfrp3_adds, LiberFanactica or w3e

     

    I editted wfrp3_adds so it didnt rely on w3e.  Seems to work fine.

     

    The LiberFanactica didnt work out as well, for some reason the text is overflowing in the cards, so i will need compare the 2 codes to see where they divert.

    Okay found the problems with the seext's.add

    importClass( gamedata.Expansion );

    to the top of the main js file. eg in w2e.seext it is w3e.js

    Eon 3 doesnt support the below line anymore, thats what throwing up the error message, just put // in front of it to turn it into a remark.

    GameData.registerExpansion( "wfrp3_adds", "Additional card layouts for Warhammer 3-rd edition" );

    If anyone finds out how to fix that line, that be great.

     

    The font se-caslon-ant-sc.ttf doesnt exist in eon 3 it seems.so i downloaded the font from

     http://code.google.com/p/arkham-random-card/source/browse/trunk/Arkham-Horror-random-cards/assets/fonts?spec=svn11&r=11

    and copied into the w3e seext font folder

    edit the line calling the font to the below text

    var ccCaslAnt = registerFontFamilyFromResources( "w3e/fonts/se-caslon-ant-sc.ttf" );

     

    And now for me, it doesnt show error messages

I always thought there were other spell orders out there, only the empire has the 8 schools of magic.  Somewhere maybe theres a country where they have Demonoloists or Elementalists as the norm. The Slaan/Old ones, seem to me when engineering the world, must have used some form of Elemental magic.  I do know in Fantasy Battle, there were Elementals used in the battles.  Maybe those types of spells became restricted or banned, who knows.

    All it would take would be to look back at the old spell lists and class them as a form of hedge mage from the Border princes or any of the other areas of the world.  Just cause a spell uses the red wind for example, doesnt mean a bright wizard knows that spell.

    The warhammer world doesnt have realms of fire air etc does it?  I know it mentions a realm of the dead, but is that just aethyr void itself? So anything not of the world would be from the magic realm?

     

    I have only ever heard of one flying ship made by a mad trollslayer inventor.  I doubt they last too long, what with so many type of flying creatures that could rip them open. There are spell of levation, all you need then is the wind to blow you were you wish to go. Just strikes me to take alot of magical power to do this. If there was a lull in the winds of magic, the ship would come crashing down.


  15. The High Elves,Wood Elves and Dark Elves are a long lived species, Teclis has been around longer than 221 years,

    Malekth of the dark elves and his mother have been around for over 2000 years. Then you also have the Lady of  the Lake person.

    So my question is, do the elves that retreated from the old world still exist on the High Elf island?

    Trying to work out why high elves would adventure in the Old World, apart from the Sea Elf traders that is. Thought maybe some may be curious of their old haunting grounds.

     

     

    From the careers I seen listed you have most of the wood elf ones covered barring the Glade Guardians, Glade riders,  treesingers and wizard/sorcerers/magic users. Did anyone do the beastmaster and his pets?

    What High elf careers are missing that could be played by a player?

    How do wood elves and High elves react when near each other?

    Doesnt seem to have taken long for the wood elves to have gone from High Elf to Wood elf, 2000 years, think in Elf lifetimes that is. But they went more primitive every quickly. One to five generations, if they live 400 to 2000 odd years.

     

     

    I wonder what an Elven book would bring to WFRP if they had been created in 2nd ed and 3rd ed.

    Here's how I do it:

    I keep it simple really.  I just foreshadow some future event from the scenario.  Basically, I give the character and image or dream of something.  I do this a lot anyways with players, kind of like watching a TV show where they show you a preview of what's to come.

    A lot of times, I'll just show the players some artwork from the future (usually the art at the beginning of the chapter.  Then they know what they're in for.
