  1. I have not had a chance to playtest any Epic games (hard to find the time to get friends to play such an involved version!) But I made 2 different Epic Lists, which do you think is a better idea? Also any advice tword changing either around is more then welcome! LIST #1 Squad 1 - The Bomber Squad, They line in standard Pinwheel Formation, If they come across huge swarms the Assault Missiles are priority, if they come across Big ships (or huge ships) first, its all about the cluster. TIE Bomber - Scimitar Squadrom Pilot - Cluster Missiles - Assault Missiles (25pts) TIE Bomber - Scimitar Squadrom Pilot - Cluster Missiles - Assault Missiles (25pts) TIE Bomber - Scimitar Squadrom Pilot - Cluster Missiles - Assault Missiles (25pts) TIE Bomber - Captain Jonus - Veteran Instincts - Seismic Charges (25pts) Squad 2 - This is Small, Duel Firesprays with PTL, they will start on either side of the bombers to assist with the initial missile bombardment, but after they unloaded the payload, they are free to separate and do there own thing. Firespray-31 - Boba Fett - Push the Limit - Recon Specialist - Cluster Missiles - Engine Upgrade Firespray-31 - Kath Scarlet - Push the Limit - Recon Specialist - Cluster Missiles - Engine Upgrade Squad 3 - A Standard TIE Swarm Tie Fighter - Academy Pilot X6 (12pts each) TIE Fighter - Howlrunner - Swarm Tactics - Stealth Device (23pts) LIST #2 Squad 1 - Bombers (See Above) Squad 2 - Firesprays (See Above) Squad 3 - Interceptors, the point of Squad 3 above is just mass numbers, the point of squad 3 in this build is to stay on the outside of the battle and be as annoying as possible with Fel and Turr, with the early addition of Colonel Jendon to pass them a couple early target locks (NOTE: I may switch out Jendon for another named interceptor instead, or 2 generic ones) TIE Interceptor - Soontir Fel - Push the Limit TIE Interceptor - Turr Phennir - Push the Limit - Stealth Device Lambda-Class Shuttle - Colonel Jendon - Fire-Control System - Weapons Engineer - ST-321 Any advice more then welcome! My friends play this game but not as often as I like to test builds, so the information I get here is just great, thanks for the help X-Wing Community!
  2. What about both? I faired pretty well in a tournament fielding fett with various upgrades and 3 interceptors, every game that I won all the interceptors were taken out and fett devistated the board, so I've been playing around with a fett/kath build (+a tie fighter for the left over points) the important part is giving them each push the limit so I can both evade and focus when threatened to make them ridiculously hard to kill. Thoughts?
  3. I love interceptors, my first competitive build used them heavily, they are just the most fun to play even if they are squishy lol this could be a good excuse to get another build going with them at the focus. Even at the basics 8 interceptors on the field at once will cause some headaches
  4. i had not even considered that, the only reason I used deft was for push the limit but if I'm going with a Jonus focus than that would make a ton of sense
  5. I really Like the idea of Escalation Tournaments, though after playing around in a squad builder I found this not so easy (especially the 60pt range) Here is what I came up with, please let me know what you think 60 Points (59 Total) - Firespray 31 - Boba Fett - Engine Upgrade (43 Points) - TIE Bomber - (16 Points) I hate only having 2 ships on the field (3 would be nicer for 60 points) but the only way to really get a Firespray up is to do so on the initial build. I Chose the Bomber with it simply because these two should be hard to kill. 90 Points (89 Total) - Firespray 31 - Boba Fett - Engine Upgrade (43 Points) - TIE Bomber - Scimitar Squadron Pilot - (16 Points) - TIE Interceptor - Soontir Fel - Push the Limit (30) The idea of staying alive maintains, Soontir Fel's job is to dance around and never be inside a fireing arc. At this point im not completely sold on useing him or another bomber for synergy sake, also I could place Push the Limit on Fett instead but I ultimately chose Fel simply to aid in him not being attacked. Note: Im banking on these tournaments running very few YT's do to just how expensive they are, another bonus to Fel. 120 Points (120 Total) 90 Points (89 Total) - Firespray 31 - Boba Fett - Engine Upgrade (43 Points) - TIE Bomber Scimitar Squadron Pilot + Cluster Missiles - Seismic Charges (22 Points) - TIE Interceptor - Soontir Fel - Push the Limit (30 Points) - TIE Bomber - Captain Jonus (26 Points) I added the Cluster Missiles to the TIE bomber to go along with Captain Jonus, the seismic Charges I am hoping will help against the extreme end Swarms I may encounter, but that remains to be seen. 150 Points (150 Total) - Firespray 31 - Boba Fett - Engine Upgrade (43 Points) - TIE Bomber - Scimitar Squadron Pilot - Cluster Missiles - Seismic Charges + Cluster Missiles (26 Points) - TIE Interceptor - Soontir Fel - Push the Limit (30 Points) - TIE Bomber - Captain Jonus (26 Points) - TIE Bomber - Scimitar Squadron Pilot - Culster Missiles - Cluster Missiles - Seismic Charges (26 Points) Added and Strengthened the Bombers. Im still fairly new to this game, and have not played many tournaments or games outside of my group of friends that also play, so any and all advice is welcome! My Personal Thoughts, Perhaps rather then Fel, I add another bomber and start outfitting the missiles earlier? Or perhaps even Major Rhynor so I can use the cluster Missiles at range 3. Also It will likelly be 1 Cluster, 1 Concussion per bomber without Rhynor but that is not 100% Thanks in advance!
  6. It can be used on secondary weapons. I believe what you're actually seeing is that it doesn't "work" on turrets. Which isn't actually true either. For Outmaneuver, the defender has to be in your firing arc, and you have to be out of the defenders firing arc. So that means that you can use your secondary ion/blaster turret with it, but only if the defender was in your arc... so the other 280 degrees that the turret works, outmaneuver does not work. Predator works regardless of primary/secondary/firing arcs. Ahh that makes a ton of sense thanks!Further question then, if I use captain Jonus in tandem with it, then would I be able to reroll 3 dice or reroll 2dice then 1 die after that?
  7. I have a couple of quick questions for the more experienced. I apologize if these were covered earlier, 18 pages is a lot to look through lol. 1) predator - I see a lot of talk about this being primary weapon only, but I thought when that was the case, the card would specify "when attacking with a primary weapon" while this card simply says "when attacking". What am I missing? 2) colonel vessery - does his ability mean that, since it's after rolling attack dice. He can gain a target lock then immediately use that lock on that roll, or is it a lock for next turn? Thanks in advance!
  8. You have 4 plus games in Nebraska up twice
  9. I've been experimenting with a number of builds with my gaming group but I was wondering and figured here (and bgg) are the best places to ask. If you have 1 ship and unlimited points for upgrades what would be the hardest ship to take down? Both for rebel and empire. Not concerned with hitting other ships at all just who can survive the longest. And with those Same rules what would be the heaviest hitter, as in what single ship build has the highest potential damage in one attack?
  10. Hey, in my search to make a great 1v1 Targ deck, I decided to attempt this deck. The entire focus of this deck is to get as many attachments as fast as possible onto Viserys to lower my power needed to win. Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance! 11. Does anyone know where you can buy these cards, or if there is a reprint imminent? I cannot find them on amazon and my group (new to GoT this year) is gearing up for tournaments. Unrelated side question: do tournaments allow the littlefinger variant? Thanks in advance!
  12. Julia said: I guess it doesn't sell out (no "limited to" written anywhere that I'm aware of), but the first 100 registred partecipants receive a special bag with gadget / promo items and stuff. As for the other question, sorry, can't help you Thanks for the reply, the schedual came out today so that question was answered for me, but good to know she should be fine to wait til march to order if need be
  13. Second question, do these things ever sell out? one of my friends wants to come but she wont know if school will allow it until March
  14. My friends and I are planning to drive up from Omaha to participate in this, one of my friends however is asking if we can drive back sunday night rather then monday morning, so my question is, how late do the events tend to go until each day? just a rough estimate especially on sunday, thanks in advance!
  15. Thanks again for the advice, we played with a number of the new rules (all of us had a new race as well). We cut some of the interesting sounding ones for simplicities sake, but I think it went well, we used: Age of Empire - Made the game much faster which is a good thing Leaders - Although they didnt come into play much, I liked the added bit of strategy they posed Variant Strategy Cards: We played around with the many different strategy cards, we used a new version of all 8 for the first round, then the 2nd round exchanged a couple that we didnt like as much as we thought we would. Race Specific Technologies Wormhole Nexus - an easy addition Tactical Retreats - never came into play, but the option was there Voice of the Council - A very interesting element to the game, especially with my brother playing a race who was not allowed to vote, but could suicide bomb us if he wanted >.< (note: I lost 2 councelers do to this, everyone else, lost none aside from the suicide bomber himself) Preliminary Objectives - These worked well, with 4 players we delt 2 to each person and allowed them to pick. some of the objectives seemed REALLY unbalanced though. Flagships: Didnt get much play, 2 players did build them but they never got into the fights before the game ended Mechanized Units - Available but noone built any Next game we will add a couple rules we skipped simply because we didnt want to learn to many new things at once, including distant suns, facilities/colonies and mercenaries.

  17. Are you saying Android is good? The damnit is throwing me off Julia said: As Tibs said, Doom was a wonderful game. I'd love to see a new Doom set in the Twilight Imperium / Warhammer 40K universe, but I hardly think it will ever happen. Sigh. As for other games… Wiz-war is really good. Very dynamic, brilliant, always fun and - a plus for me - even if strategic, it's kinda quick: one hour, and you have a game completed. Infiltration is also a good one: few rules, but clever dynamics and a thrilling experience (it's not so easy to escape from the facility, and remaining into the building means instant defeat). If you'd like to try something more challenging, you can go with Fury of Dracula: all but the combat system (really luck based) is *great* Ive always been curious about Doom (more for my love of the game series then anything ive ever heard about it). What do you mean set it the TI universe? like as a playable race, or Doom setting using TI theme? Ya I could probably use more Quick games, as much as I love TI, AH, MoM, and GoT they are all VERY lengthy games, I pretty much have to dedicate the evening to one of those then fill in the rest of the night with games like munchkin, Catan, Ticket to ride, ect. Fun games, but more of a simple kind of fun. Ill definately look into Wiz-war and Infultration tonight. As for Dracula, whats good about that one? Just based strictly on name, if I was to see Fury of Dracula I probably would never have given it a second glance lol
  18. Shadow said: If you have both expansions, the best base game is the expansion 'shattered empire' set with the leaders option. Generally, when you say you are going to play a standerd game of twilight 3, this is what players think you mean and all other options are added or subtracted from this set. Interesting, @ leaders, we hadnt played with them yet since we wanted to try out just the game itself to get it down (pretty simple after the first full game) but good to know, I honestly dont even know for sure what the other expansions even come with (honestly the availability of more options in race alone was enough to make me want to buy the games )
  19. I ask because im in general looking into more and more games lately, and FFG tends to make (from what ive seen) concistantly very high quality games. I ask this question here, to Arkham Horror players because AH was my first FFG, and also so far, my favorite. --- Pertinent Information: Arkham Horror - The first FFG game I bought, I have all the expansions, and it remains my favorite game from FFG. I love the thematic nature of the game, Co-op, and Difficulty A Game of Thrones Board Game - The second FFG game I bought, I love all things GoT period, but ive always loved strategic war games. Game of Thrones LCG - Although I love this game, I dont think I could get into a second LCG at the same time as this one. Mansions of Madness - Fun game, alot of rules for the keeper but once you get it down its cake. I like this for alot of the same reasons I like Arkham Horror even though the games are vastly different. Battlestar Galactica - This is a new Acquisition for me, we have only played it once, I love the idea of a enemy perhaps playing against the group the whole time until the end, though it did not seem like he had much of a shot. Ive already ordered the first expansion for this game hoping it will make the game better (as ive heard online) Twilight Imperium - Again this game is fairly new one of mine, but so far I absolutely love it, Ive ordered both expansions (just waiting on amazon) (The next games are ones that friends own but ive played) Death Angel - Fun interesting game, makes me think of Aliens which is awesome, and very difficult also a plus, and unlike most FFG games, its pretty short. LotR the Board Game - We played this once, I didnt like it much honestly, we lost at the end, but even so it never felt difficult *shrugs* Warrior Knights - While I liked this game OK I think it may have suffered from a lack of 6 players at the time. Also im told the expansions really makes it better so this one is kinda in limbo for me. --- Now with that information, what other FFG games should I look into? I love highly thematic games, high levels of strategy, and coop is nice but not necessary. Im just asking because there are so many games available and general curiosity of what others who love AH also love. Thanks in advance!
  20. So far I have logged 3 games in on the base set (not bad for only 2-3 weeks) and i finally ordered the two expansions (set to come in tuesday) my question is this, I know aside from new races, and im sure new cards or systems added in, alot of what is in the games is optional game play. Which is neat, but my question is, What is the optional gameplay, and what should we be playing with VS what is best left out entirely. Note: our 3 games played with just the base game itself, so we also have not played with any optional content from the original game either (leaders and what not) Just curious on everyones thoughts and opinions, thanks!
  21. Hello, im fairly new to GoT:LCG, I bought it about 2 weeks ago and we have played about 10 games (mostly 4 player melee but a couple jousts as well) and we all ordered the expansions for our houses (mine being targarian). I got mine today and im having trouble narrowing down a deck! Ive made 2 potential decks, one focused on dragons, one focused on Dothraki. My question is, my decks are a bit big and im finding it impossible to get to 60 on either one. Below I have the lists for each deck, any advice welcome, any cards you might think are worthless, or cards I do not have that might be a great advantage to put in. Thanks in advance Note: I own the base game and Queen of Dragons only (though I bought the main game, the other 4 houses as well as there expansions are being used by friends, though I HAVE ordered Greyjoy and Martell).
