  1. Thanks a lot for these detailed playthroughs! I second JohnG's request of storyline conclusion, if that would be possible (are there any hints on possible next stories or is it over etc) Thanks again!
  2. I think that in this case it becomes more clear that you can take the no-progress choice. The location could be explored after all, and it has a passive ability not lasting until the end of the round.
  3. Already resolved in the latest faq : cards that are immune to player card effects cannot be chosen as the target of a player card
  4. Sometime ago there was a trend for 'hugo's amazing tape' for board games. It seemed to be very practical. I don't know if it is still around on sale.
  5. Trying to explore a different part of the card pool this week! I am playing with Arden/Galdor/Ramrod I am trying to build a deck that cycles fast (then uses will of the west) , but giving me a little bit of control more than Erestor does. I started by playing coreset and mirkwood cycle nightmare decks. Dol guldur seems unbeatable. I am trying hard to beat conflict at the car rock nightmare ATM. Needs a bit of luck.
  6. Only in the middle of the cycle and yet so many cards that activate an idle part of the cardpool! And quite thematic cards, as well. The only thing that worries me is that there may be a little bit of power creep. But this is just a feeling for now.
  7. These days I built a deck around the Dale characters of the Wilds of Rhovanion expansion. It enabled me to take advantage of many synergies of Dale and Scout traits. The idea is that Redwater Sentry (+ Hauberk of Mail) and North Realm (+Spare Hood and Cloak ) Lookout are really good cards with the right attachments on them, and Leadership Brand makes sure you get plenty of drawing to setup quickly. Miruvor ends up to be a really versatile attachment, preferrably to use again and again on Lanwyn. Ranger Summons combos nicely with Lanwyn (getting that extra surge is a double win now). All in all, a couple of mediocre cards really shine together in this deck. I managed to beat The Lonely Mountain Nightmare (with a bit of luck) the first time I played it! With any of my other decks this seemed to be impossible! (The Lonely Mountain with a Dale deck - Felt so right!) This is a decklist, I am sure there can be a lot of improvements to it! Deck Created with CardGameDB.com The Lord of the Rings Deckbuilder Total Cards: (50) Hero: (3) 1x Brand son of Bain (The Wilds of Rhovanion) 1x Lanwyn (The Thing in the Depths) 1x Idraen (The Three Trials) Ally: (16) 3x Gandalf (Core Set) 3x Knight of Dale (The Dungeons of Cirith Gurat) 3x Redwater Sentry (The Wilds of Rhovanion) 3x North Realm Lookout (The Wilds of Rhovanion) 2x Celduin Traveler (The Nin-in-Eilph) 2x Rhovanion Outrider (Temple of the Deceived) Attachment: (19) 3x Steward of Gondor (Core Set) 3x Unexpected Courage (Core Set) 3x Ancient Mathom (A Journey to Rhosgobel) 3x Miruvor (Shadow and Flame) 3x Hauberk of Mail (The Wilds of Rhovanion) 2x Spare Hood and Cloak (Over Hill and Under Hill) 2x King of Dale (The Wilds of Rhovanion) Event: (13) 3x Sneak Attack (Core Set) 3x A Test of Will (Core Set) 3x Ranger Summons (The Lost Realm) 2x Well Warned (The Sands of Harad) 2x Scouting Party (Temple of the Deceived) Side Quest: (2) 1x Double Back (Escape from Mount Gram) 1x Gather Information (The Lost Realm)
  8. Had a spare time today, managed to upload the encounter cards of this set (haven't seen some of them around) https://imgur.com/a/qzEGo
  9. Very nice ideas in this thread! The only time I tried to play this kind of deck, I went Secrecy with Thurindir (makes a good combo if you can get done the "double back" side quest, gives you extra rounds of secrecy), Glorfindel (Spirit) and Pippin (it is crazy how much you need the extra early game card draw). Asfaloth helps a lot and Gandalf (Saga Version) once you have gone out of secrecy gives a great boost!
  10. Yes, we killed him during a multi-kill combo round (Hama + Hour of Wrath + Unseen Strike) which happened to be just after he entered the staging area! We also assumed we dont use the items for this scenario, but they are not removed from the campaign pool either! Thanks for answering!
  11. Amazing quest! Both thematic and tense! Just a small issue arised when we played it: By the time we proceeded on Stage 3B, which instructs us to attach some boon cards to Shagrat, Shagrat was already in the Victory Display... I assume that nothing happens in that case, I would just like to share it, in case we did something wrong
  12. THIS POST IS FULL OF SPOILERS, PLEASE DO NOT READ FURTHER UNLESS YOU WANT TO KNOW WHERE WE ARE GOING NEXT! First of all, i think the next cycle is taking place in Dale ! And i quote from the Epilogue's last sentences: (context: Denethor made Kahliel take an oath never to attack Gondor again, then Kahliel is troubled because his folk is now houseless) "Gondor is not the only realm in Middle-Earth. There are others who are not so proud. Perhaps King Brand in Dale will have room for you. His kingdom already has dealings with Elves and Dwarves; your people are closer kin than they", reassured one of the heroes "Tell me of Dale and King Brand", said Kahliel. The adventure uses the following encounter sets: Crossings of Poros, Mountains of Shadow (also included in this adventure pack), Desert Sands, Desert Creatures, Harad Soldiers and Mordor Orcs. And unfortunately Quickbeam does not have the unique symbol. If there is anything else I can tell you, questions are welcome "
  13. the craziest thing happened today. As i usually do, i pre-ordered the whole haradrim cycle in a local retailer (in Greece). Today the Crossing of Poros was updated to be "in stock". At first i was sure of it to be a mistake, but it turned out to be true. So I have in my hands the 6th adventure pack that seems to be "in development". There is no logical explanation behind this. (or apparently there is, but we don't know it yet)
  14. Tonight we had an overall great gaming experience playing "A journey in the dark" Saga Adventure. However, we came across a -problem trying to presume the interaction of "Prince Imrahil" Ally card with the "The Great Bidge" location. Prince Imrahil reads: "While there is a hero in your discard pile, Prince Imrahil loses the ally card type and gains the hero card type." The Great Bidge reads: "Response: When The Great Bridge is explored, discard a hero from play to deal X damage to The Balrog. X is that hero's threat cost. Then, The Balrog loses all keywords for the remainder of the game. Any player may trigger this response. " Of course I had a hero in my discard pile, so I guess that if I discard Prince Imrahil Balrog loses keywords but I do 0 damage to it. Another question about changing from ally to hero is about attachments that can be attached to a hero. Are they discarded if Imrahil becomes ally again?
