    Alright, i consider this a collab project - ill work on it this week and make something that can be "vectored" my goal is to make it only require 1 color + shirt.

    I am formally trained in Latin, so I can translate anything we want as the motto, also. "As long as we breathe, we shall protect" is formal and militaristic. But, I can translate something like "We'll see you in hell" or "You'll never make it past the first marker", etc.

    At the risk of sounding incredibly corny, it makes me very happy to see someone else excited about characters from all over the SW universe getting nods with cool cards and sets.  I think the game has been doing a very good job of tying theme/flavor to mechanics in ways that don't stretch the imagination, yet give each character/set a unique feel that doesn't take away from (most of) the sets' playability.  I mean heck, Salacious Crumb is getting  a card that seems to tie into Scum's occasional getting a bonus by focusing characters.  I imagine he cracks jokes or something.

    This assessment seems fair to me.  I don't think Smugglers are so much 'overpowered' as 'more consistent in the quality of their cards'.  The best Smuggler pods don't seem better to me, personally, than the best Jedi or Rebel pods.

    So the Regional at the FFG center is just over a month away, any idea on what the attendance will be. I'm planning to come with at least one other person from Madison, WI. We look forward to enjoying the FFG center again.

    Yeah, I saw that. Presumably, that's what the smaller card sleeves will be used for. Seems clunky, especially with two different card sizes. Not a fan of tokens cards.

    Played a game of Planet Strike last night. I was Necrons, my friend was Raven Guard Space Marines. So we ended up in a meleé and his guys were using a weapon that concusses my guys and they killed one of my crypteks, and Trazen the infinite my warlord. Necrons are evil space terminator mummies, so get a chance to self repair. The cryptek gets up, but Trazen doesn't and we debate whether this repaired robot body should be concussed. Then Trazen takes over the cryptek's body instead of dying. Should this guy be concussed?
    Hilarious situation, and we went by the fluffy reason of this actual beat up body should be concussed but I don't know often this comes up in the rules. If it was a tournament with money or prizes on the line and not just pals around a table? I can see things getting out of line.

    Pretty much anything that involves GW's IP has a rabid base of contradictory fans at each other's throats.  I honestly see that happening here too, if only as a byproduct of the tabletop game.  I forsee a great darkness descending upon us here, wherein we will have a constant struggle against the forces of Chaos....

    Theories -
     
    IG will be Mixed @ the start will be a chuds + heavy equipment deck and try and out shoot there opponent through numbers and low cost units. (later i would like to see an armored core deck develop)
     
    Orcs - I see orcs as the "rush" faction but i dont know how that will translate into the game - Im interested to see how they play - im guessing they will be fuled by bloodlust and will probably combo alot off injured units.
     
    Tau - Shooty shoot shoot shoot
     
    Marines - Combo + All Arounders
     
    Dark Eldar - Rush fast attack tricks, unit movement units that could hop locations min max units that either kill a target outright or just suck.
     
    Eldar - Control - Event cards - psychic powers - medium to high cost units that are glass cannons.
     
    Chaos - Same as marines but with more psychic powers and event cards.

    Meh.
     
    We are being asked to pay lots of money that's for sure.  But, there are thousands of alternate games out there.   Don't like this one?  Vote with ye olde wallet.
     
    Anyway, I go back to what I have been saying all along, it is WAY too early to be seriously excited or disappointed in a game we know nothing about.
     
    For all we know the first major expansion will bring Squats to the table.
     
    Ok, maybe that's unlikely, but you get my drift.

    I love how people think FFG was just like, this is the game, Screw these races no one will care. They probably like most companies who produce products, did a lot of work in making this game work so it made sense to the lore and to the play style that They have developed, not you. It isn't your game. Its theirs. Im sure they had plenty of ideas of tyranids and necrons alike. Both these races though are "Mindless" which makes sense as to why they weren't added. FFG obviously felt they didnt fit into the game they were trying to make. 
     
    The allied chart is fine if you look at what they were given to work with in 6th Edition. 
     
    I really wish the world OR the internet would just be happy with what their given and stop whining about what it "Should" of been like according to your wish list. 
     
    Yes constructive feedback is always welcome at any company, but saying this game is the worst game ever imaginable because they didn't add my Favourite race, is absolutely ridiculous. 
     
    My favourite part of this is NONE OF YOU HAVE EVEN PLAYED IT YET. christ.

    The Orks/Imperial Guard thing caught my attention too.  But then I remembered something.  I'm not sure what the current meta is like in 40k, but it used to be that many Ork tribes hired themselves out as mercenaries.  I can't remember the name of the group off hand, but in my last ork codex, they  were the ones that wore camouflage.
     
    I think all of the other allies all make sense.
