[Magic Staff question]

 When using the surge ability which attacks an additional unit for 1dmg, does that unit get to roll a defense die? Or is it an unavoidable attack?

When I'm an Overlord, I like to think myself as an obstacle, not a impassable wall.

Because if the players lose the game, I don't get to play anymore either. =(
