Warhammer: Invasion was supported for supported with new product for four years (2009-2013)
Star Wars LCG was supported with new product for six years (2012-2018)
Imperial Assault started in 2014, and still in development, so that's more than four years of new product there again.
Not sure what you are looking for. If it's a guarantee that FFG will keep producing new content for 10 (or for ever?) before even a single core set has been sold, well, no company will give you that.
Note also that unless I am mistaken, this game will resemble Imperial Assault, where even just a core set gives you a full game experience. No expansions are really needed. (Unlike with LCGs for example, where the core sets themselves are clearly just a small part of the experience, so new poduct is needed.)

Exactly, I don't understand what people want from these companies. Four years of steady content release including the development of a co-op app, that to me is incredible.
All board games end, all games end! Board or digital. It's a business, it's a cycle.
So I will say the same thing I already said, if you're doubting FFGs track record then the answer is yes this game will fold, it might be one year it might be five, but yes eventually this game will fold. If you can't handle that, then go look somewhere else.... and find the exact same thing.

If this is not sarcasm, I'm glad to read one non-pesimistic or non-ranting post, hehehehe

Love this. I can’t wait to try it out with my nephew.

One verbage change that should be made.   Many cards mention ‘gaining charges.’. .. such as the  text on the aft cards of each ship.  To keep consistency with the verbage from the rest of 2.0, these all need to say ‘recover charges’ instead. Otherwise, Gain sounds as if you could get more than your charge limit.

I don't know if my post will be helpful, as I respectfully disagree with Trialus in the choice of which Gimli / Legolas (except for the fun facto and cool synergy)
I would advise you use Eowyn, Gimli and Legolas from the core set. They have simplest abilities than the Sand of Harad Legolas/Gimli, who could be a bit head-scratching at first for your wife. Moreover, Sp Eowyn and Tactics Legolas in particular are really good at what they do: questing and killing enemies. Questing and fighting are the main part of the game, if you think about it, and I tend to give the "kill enemies" deck to any newbie I wish to introduce to the game.
Also, with a Sp Eowyn and Tac Gimli / Legolas, you can just include all the staples of spirit and tactics, barring theme, and always selecting the cards that have the most understandable/simple effects. I'm sure your wife is as clever as anyone, but as experienced players, it's easy to forget that this game requires massive text-conversion and a lot happens on the board.  Just go x3 for each card (and don't mind for uniques as Eowyn can ditch them for willpower) the less different cards she has, the less time she will spend reading them and I think she will enjoy.
This lets you handle the more subtle parts of the game, and try giving her the most amazing tools: card draw, healing, etc. Still, you're right, keep it simple also for your deck so she can understand what you do.
I'd stick with Core Set heroes again, and go for Théodred (as Eowyn's brother), Lea Aragorn and Beravor.
I could come up with two decks if you want.
    Finally, consider playing Easy Mode.
    Hope this helps anyway!

Ya I have also been trying to get something started up in Hickory, NC.  I used to work in Mooresville and tried to help support the Charlotte area as much as I could.  If any of you guys are interested we are doing a tournament in Hickory on 9/7 with a Game Night Season 2 kit for prize support.

I might make plans to drive up to Salisbury on some Wednesday and play, I have a friend that lives up there and might drop in and see him.
