Rulebook says "If there are already any cards of any type on the space (such as Adventure, Purchase, or Spell Cards), then only enough cards to make up the given number may be drawn." as well as "Talisman and Purchase Cards are treated in all respects like Adventure Cards, except that instead of being placed on a discard pile when not needed, they are instead returned to their appropriate deck and are available to other characters once more."
The rules also state: "Whenever a character is given or buys a Talisman or Purchase Card, the appropriate Talisman or Purchase Card should be
taken." The word "given" is a little unclear, but we've always played that when you draw a sword for example from adventure deck, it is discarded and replaced from the purchase deck. It's not exactly "given" to you if you draw it, so is this wrong? It's a rule we remember playing with from 2nd edition, though we could have been wrong back then as well… So in essence, you could never have more than 4 talismans in one game, as ones drawn from adventure deck are replaced by talisman cards. Thanks for the quotes, the first paragraph answered the question I had for our first game.

Hag trumps Poltergeist.
I was going to say thanks, but there's a difference of opinion here. Is there a moderator/rules official or a date for the next FAQ?

Thanks, I'm in first game and didn't see these board features!

The exact meaning of "Trophy"

I finally found this thread for trophies. At 60+ pages I didn't want to add another thread!
The 3rd edition used experience points. So when we defeated enemies in the Crags, Forest, or Cave, we got experience cones that we traded in at 7. (Then we made up special follower cards for them in case anyone could took one of these as a follower.)
So my question is, since these enemies don't have trophies, when you beat one can you add their value to existing trophies to level up strength or craft? Same with those +2 spaces, now they probably don't give you +2 towards a level up?
I don't really see the point of fighting enemies when you can't get experience for winning. You may as well just call the former "traps" that you have to deal with or lose a life.
