  1. It's worse than you thought. The next Awakenings printing is THE LAST one.
  2. What happened? They were purchased. That said, not every game they make will be for everyone but some people love the collectible aspect.
  3. Don't you think it's about time an AT-AT expansion was announced? What better time than GenCon to make a great announcement like that and have a sample in the case at the booth. What would you like to see in an AT-AT expansion? Price? Would it include the Rebel ground weapons?
  4. I love rolling dice too and it can be fun when your friends are rolling the opponent's dice trying to pound you into the dungeon floor so I'm looking forward to your feedback, if you would share it, once you play the games on Monday.
  5. I get what you mean about the video game aspect. I love those too but really wanted a more powerful app just to drive things from a game mechanics Overlord standpoint and enhance the game play but NEVER substitute for the actual board game, dice , mins, etc. I know we're just at the infancy of board game and app mergers plus it's software so there's always a chance for enhancements!
  6. I get that. The app is only supposed to be a companion to the physical game so there's a balance there. Since FFG is the leader in app and physical game merging maybe there's another way to ensure you have a physical copy of the game like a key or serial number registration. Yes it adds infrastructure for a registration system / validation system but I could see the benefits for both players and FFG. That's unlikely, because FFG would have to submit the codes to players which didn't keep their game boxes or the "proof of purchase"-tokens. (<-- I don't know how they are called but I hope you know what I mean) Also, some of the monster packs and campaigns came without a code on the "proof of purchase"-tokens. How would FFG offer these codes? If a photo would be enough, you could just send the ones from another person or if they want you to come to a partner store or something you could still use the figures of another person to geth it.... and there could be thousands of people with the same problem.... I was referring to a future enhancement based on what it would take to implement this. I could see in future products a single piece of paper with the serialized "App Key Code" inserted in it.

  8. New to Descent (waiting on the App but play Imperial Assault) so just starting to get a feel for the app with the tutorial. It's cool so far but I was hoping to see the app resolve more things for the group including dice rolls, damage, surges, and monster movement. I was expecting something like: select active hero move hero and select space of the tile where movement ended to indicate where the character is finish turn app selects monster movement based on knowing where players are, makes a decision, shows you where the monster moves app resolves attacks with the players seeing the dice roll, damage, etc. I'd be fine with selecting a few more things on the map tiles so the game knows the set-up / current position if I didn't have to resolve all of the other actions and I think it would really speed up play.
  9. I started shopping for Descent since I'm a new player and the app sold me on a full co-op experience for the game. BUT where the heck are all the lieutenant packs for the base game? Sold out everywhere. You'd think there would be items in stock at the same time the app comes out. I'm not going to use cardboard tokens.
  10. OMG - best laugh in a while!
  11. Did you even read the post before dismissing it completely? There's a reason why this behavior is linked to white males... Yes I read the post and I read the original "story" yesterday. Unlike a lot of others I make an informed post and not one based on emotion without any facts. Please share the specific evidence that this behavior is linked to white males.
  12. I'm tired of the white male bashing. No, we are not part of the problem and I don't believe the original blog post either. It's another hit piece with an agenda. "Agenda Theater" as very well put by someone else on this forum. The topics put forward are serious but how can they be linked to a white race issue? Total garbage and doesn't belong on the forum.
  13. Excellent paint job. How about a commissioned paint job if I order one? Plus, check this new item out - http://www.space-rocks.net/#!escort-frigate/cioi.That thing is awesome but I wonder about the intellectual property rights. Yes, it's the own design (not from a FFG mold) but the design is still owned by LFL / Disney. I might still pick one up. Is Space Rocks trust worthy?
  14. Follow-up from earlier post. I went to a Target today at 8am (this store did not open at midnight) and they had a relatively small section of stuff out. 4 core sets were in stock so I got what I went for. There was actually a Disney rep there who asked me if the shelves were that bare when I got there when the store opened at 8. They were. She was taking pics to report back to Disney on the store status and the Target team was still stocking shelves with pallets of product in the aisles and semi-opened boxes. Doesn't seem like they were prepared. There we no lines outside the store and no one at the register. She mentioned that the Toys R Us stores in the area had lines 100+ deep. If you don't see it on the shelf - ASK.
