  1. Probably because the only thing you need to actually play an rpg is the printed rulebook and some paper and pencil. When you're buying and rpg, all you need to buy is the rulebook, so it doesn't make sense for FFG to put that online for free if that's what they're trying to sell. A free pdf of an rpg rulebook basically becomes free print-and-play.

No one has asked for a free PDF (though a comp one when purchasing the book would be nice).  Plenty of people have asked for the alternative of purchasing PDFs instead of physical books.

  2.

We already can't get PDFs of the RPG, I'd be surprised if we can get this unfortunately.

Can you source that this is the reason why there are no PDFs for the SW RPG? Like an interview with FFG or a post on the forums where they said this? I don't doubt it, but I want to be able to show people who do.

This is the closest to an official answer: https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/86143-read-this-first-frequently-asked-questions-about-eote/

Given the way FFG sells their other RPG product and the amount of times it still comes up as a question it can only be a licensing thing, otherwise they are leaving money on the table for no reason.

  3. I use mayday game sleeves for mine because they are cheaper. I also use swan sleeves for the character cards. Here is the link http://www.swanpanasiasleeves.com/products/swan-card-sleeves-103x128-100-pack-thin-sleeves-talisman-character-cards

they fit perfectly over them. Plus you will have plenty for future expansions that will be released.

Yes, Mayday sleeves are cheaper in both cost and quality, but YMMV.

  4. I know it's not answering the question, but can we back up to the Assisted Skill check.  Since you didn't give the Characteristic and Skill numbers of the two characters it may work exactly the same in the end, but to be pedantic about it you figure it out from the stats not the dice pools.  IT's the highest Characteristic and the highest Skill.  Like I said in the example it could have been 4/1 and 3/2 and it would work to what you said, but in the interest of someone reading that and getting confused on how the mechanic works...

  5. I get that it's a bit to go all at one time, but we've all spent it wether we started at day one or last month.  Like morenachos said, get a core set and see if you like the game.  Then use online resources to see what kind of decks you'll like and just by targeted packs.  Keep up with the current ones as you go and maybe buy one back pack for each new one if you feel the need to get them all.  Remember, they've gone to a rolling system for what is valid in competitive play, and while the first roll off is a year or two away you might never need some of the older stuff.

  6. For the first round you're correct. Naratively you could explain it that the person with the better cool is just calling the combat characters attention to the danger, they're getting in there but the person with the cool takes the "penalty" of going later now.

The advantages could be a synergy of skills. Having that late iniative slot for the PCs combined with the same character being able to take the first slot right after can have certain advantages. Can't think of a skill/talent combo off hand but I'm sure they exist.
