Official FAQ and Current Tournament Maps
Aahzmandius_Karrde replied to Fizz's topic in Imperial Assault Rules Questions
It helps if you've read the thread, but even I had to read it a few times. Someone had asked if you could deploy the "Skirmish Upgrades" and exhaust them to delay activations. -
Reach and terminals.
Aahzmandius_Karrde replied to player1823837's topic in Imperial Assault Rules Questions
I at least hope that's what it is. Taken another way they could be taking a stance that they're not really answering questions any more except in FAQ form. -
Duty or Obligation?
Aahzmandius_Karrde replied to HappyDaze's topic in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG
I just got finished listening to the episode of Order 66 where they talk about this. I think I agree with the opinion that Duty is something you want to do, obligation is something you have to do. So like awayputurwpn said, I'd they believe in the huts Duty is fine. If they're working for them out of fear... Not so much. -

Smugglers and Assasins Preview
Aahzmandius_Karrde replied to dpb1298's topic in Star Wars: Imperial Assault
Interesting that they have now spoiled the entire agenda deck for IG-88. I wonder i I should swap it out on one of my campaigns. -
Mak: Disengange vs Stun
Aahzmandius_Karrde replied to Baer's topic in Imperial Assault Rules Questions
The text of stun is not "Cannot take the move action" it is "cannot exit your space". So no, Mak cannot disengage while stunned. -
Red and yellow deployment points
Aahzmandius_Karrde replied to Soapy's topic in Imperial Assault Rules Questions
Yes but just because the points are there doesn't mean they have to be used as a general deployment point. Some missions will only use them as special deployment points. Look at Imperial Hospitality for a mission when they are simply activated. -
Red and yellow deployment points
Aahzmandius_Karrde replied to Soapy's topic in Imperial Assault Rules Questions
I think the irony is that you ellipsed out the part that argues against your interpretation. The rest of the sentence is "even if another rule allows a one-time deployment to any of those points." So just because an event in the scenario says to deploy a specific troop to a red/yellow point does not mean it is activated yet. -
Mak's Covert ability and spacing
Aahzmandius_Karrde replied to knil's topic in Imperial Assault Rules Questions
I don't have the page references handy, but as it is in the picture would trigger the ability. Look up "Counting Spaces" in the RRG. -
Forced and/or side mission
Aahzmandius_Karrde replied to ghostrider75's topic in Star Wars: Imperial Assault
There's always an upgrade phase after any mission. What comes next is dependent on wether it was a forced or side mission. If it was a side mission that was the side mission that the Rebels chose, so it would go to whatever the next mission on the campaign log is. If it was a Forced mission then it's an "interrupt" to the missions in the campaign log, and you woudl do whatever was the normal next mission after you complete the forced mission. -
Yes, the second target only "must be an eligible target". "A hero readies all of his Item and Class cards at the start of his activation." Each token is a separate activation. There are other figures that have the same ability, do exactly as it reads, the results of your example are 2 blocks and 1 evade. The trigger is "when a hostile figure enters" so yes it would interupt. The ability here is Expertise. It is only allowed after he has "interact"ed. So with a console or some similar item on the map. Not just on every turn.

Diala's Thrown Weapon and Cleave?
Aahzmandius_Karrde replied to Zephir's topic in Imperial Assault Rules Questions
So... [T]he attacker may choose a different hostile figure or object that he could target for an attack. ( http://karrde.viluppo.net/ImperialAssaultWiki.html#Cleave ) Poses an interesting question. Theoretically you could target anyone within line of sight. You could take the tact that it has to be in range of your actual rolled Accuracy. You could take a fluff answer that since you're throwing it the cleave represents striking another enemy on the return path. so it would need to be somewhere in the "path" of the throw. I think though that the actual answer is that the ability only allows the attack to be ranged, but you still have to be able to target the secondary enemy with the base+modification ability of the weapon itself. -
Heroes for the future?
Aahzmandius_Karrde replied to slim2none's topic in Star Wars: Imperial Assault
I don't think you need to look much further than the RPG Specilizations. Gideon is a Tactician Gahkhaan is a Commando Mak is a Sharpshooter Diala is a Force Sensitive Exile Jyn is a Scoundrel Fenn is probably a Survivalist? So plenty of other Specs to choose from for Heroes in this game. -

Why are Imp lasers green, Rebel's red?
Aahzmandius_Karrde replied to R22's topic in Star Wars: Armada
As an aside, I just finished reading Tarkin and there is a preview for Heir to the Jedi in it. Luke is in a new ship and when he fires the lasers its mentioned that they are blue. -
To Rebase or not to Rebase?
Aahzmandius_Karrde replied to kurttkrueger's topic in Star Wars: Imperial Assault
In going to second Hida77 here. If you think you might play official game in tourneys or league if wait till tourney rules come out. Paint them black now and if the rules are ok with rebase do it later. -
Loot Crate: Item Cards
Aahzmandius_Karrde replied to VirMortalis's topic in Imperial Assault Rules Questions
1) No, discussed in a thread just yesterday. 2) Does the card have the action icon in front of its text? -
crates when a figure / hero is defeated?
Aahzmandius_Karrde replied to Mueller531's topic in Imperial Assault Rules Questions
Of course I missed the entry for "Retrieving Tokens" (RRG pg 22). So it's definitely a no. Crates are Claimed (placed in front of you), all other tokens are Retrieved (placed under your figure). -
crates when a figure / hero is defeated?
Aahzmandius_Karrde replied to Mueller531's topic in Imperial Assault Rules Questions
I don't have my Campaign Book in front of me so can't look at how things are worded there, but Crate Tokens and Mission Tokes have separate entries in the RRG. Crate Tokes are claimed, which means put in front of you. Most Mission Tokens to my recollection are kept with the figure and not claimed. So no, crate tokens should not be dropped if the hero Withdraws. -
To answer the original question though, yes it is only Red and Yellow that are attackable by reach. Both the Blue and Green troopers are 3 spaces away. Counting Spaces RRG pg9
-
I'm sorry, what part of "An ability that refers to a target can be used when attacking an object, but an ability that refers to a figure cannot." (Attacking an Object RRG pg6) and "attacks that target figures up to 2 spaces away" (Reach RRG pg21) is debatable? The term "target figure" is used quite often, so it's not a mistake to use that here. Target is used separately plenty of times as well. Blast and Cleave are specifically called out in the Attacking an Object rule even though it's unnecessary since the rules for them explicitly say they can be applied to objects.

Targeting *that* figure. In others words no, one attack per target.

Brutality (Vader/RGC) vs Movement Points

Page 20 under Movement Points. Can be spent before or after, but not during and action.
