  4. A great league at a great shop. Come beating on my Axis, Allies, and my SSU (when I finish getting the army together). -jay
  5. Um, I think we can already start seeing how they are going to do it on Dust-Models.com. There are 2 Bazooka Joe/Sigrid boxes on sale right now (maybe pre-order), one with an alt pose for Joe. However they are both Prepainted and $40 which has me worried this will be the only way to get them. -jay
  6. I've been using the cutouts for a while now (spent 2 hours cutting them out on afternoon so you better believe I was going to use them). Personally I really want some GF9 custom plastic ones to be made and released. I have been thinking about having Litko make me some too. The linked to tokens are nice, and I wouldn't necessarily be against paying that much for good tokens. However there general size and shape see like a detriment to a token. You want tokens to be thin and flat so you can stack multiples of them on top on each other which would be impossible with these. I have definitely played games where some units had as many as 5 Suppression, a reaction, several wound, and an out of ammo counter all at once (Schwer Command Squad lead by Lara). While I think those tokens could work in smaller games, at 300pts you would need a set per player and they would probably prove to clunky to use. -jay
  7. I believe the Hero pack was out at Gencon (also saw some in the coverage pics) and Dust-Models has the Pre-Paint versions of the Attack Chopper and Transport Chopper/Air-Walkers up for sale now as a new release. My best guess would be soon… though they are labeled as still at the printer accord to the FFG stie. Though funny enough the first box of heavy tanks, the Red Guard Command Squad, and the Dust: Tactics Operation Hades version of the expansion are all listed as being on the boat… So we will probably see them in the first few weeks of September. -jay
  8. Well that pick is the best one I have seen, still not a lot of cover providers. I'm shocked there wasn't any trees. The vid of the final game from the FFG day 3 (maybe 4) Vid showed the table with a huge open gap dead center on the table. I know when my group plays we tend to go heavy urban or a mix of buildings, walls/crates, Trees, and hills. -jay
  9. felkor said: Dakkon426 said: Well the Flamm-Luther is closer to the fireball then the Hotdog, it has 2 flamers with 8" but it can combine shots to get up to 14" range but what really lets it shine is that the axis can give it a blitz order so it can move around much better then its 2 allied counterparts. also the armor is heavy enough that it can take serious punishment while it gets into range. Also I have yet to play as the allies in Warfare though I have the minis to field them if I so choose. Blitz gives it 12" of movement and then a flamethrower shot outside of reaction range - sounds pretty sweet to me. How does this work exactly? I see that the Flamm-Luther has Assault (which stops the enemy from attacking when you make a double move) and the Blitzkrieg Order gives you an extra 6" of movement without receiving a reaction maker. Is it just a Blitzkrieg Order followed by a normal movement an shot? Could work but to get this off to the best effect you'd need to do it when going first, which would give your opponent the ability to counter it as long as they had the orders to burn. I have though about having it push up fast (using blitzkrieg and double move) to get right up in the enemies face and then unleashing hell as a reaction with the double flamers. The Armor 5 should help keep you alive too. I will need to get my hands on one and try both tactics out. Thank you or the advice. -jay
  10. Cool, thanks for setting us straight. You have a very interesting list. Very little Schwer except for the Heavy Flakks and Battle Grenadiers which we don't see a lot of around here. I'd love any insight you might have on using the FlammLuther, I haven't gotten around to picking one of these up yet. Do you play Allies too? Does it work similar to a Hotdog? (but with better armor) -jay
  11. The Wotan and the Ryu (Japanese first walker) are the same thing, just get the Japanese decals from Dust-Models and paint some axis stuff Japanese. Would be nice to see a Steel Samurai Walker at some point though and some Japanese infantry. I am kind of glad Vril weren't previewed (even though I was one of the ones crowing early on that their need to be 4 factions by Christmas). Fantasy Flight is obviously having growing pains on their mini side of things and I'd rather that their production issues were fixed first with the primary 3 factions before going to a 4th. It will be interesting to see how much of what was previewed actually make it to the shelves by Christmas. Operation Hades is going to be the first true Campaign book for Dust Warfare, I am interested to see what sorts of additional content is included. -jay
  12. Yup, I am definitely disappointed in the Terrain too (both amount and quality). For a first tournament for a fairly new system 7 isn't terrible. That said, 16 were signed up. Also stinks there weren't any SSU, I wanted to see how they built their lists. I think the Dust Tournament at FF Weekend in Nov should have a better turnout, I am going to try to go. -jay
  13. Thank you for the update. I look forward to hearing more about the event and maybe getting some more battle reports. Stinks about the turnout. I have to say both lists are interesting. Markus and the Gorillas are pretty standard around here but I am shock Angela chilling with a sniper team wasn't in either of your lists. The Axis meta around here pretty much has Her and 2 Sniper Teams in every army. Can you give us anymore info on what other armies played in the event? Was it mostly axis? Where there any SSU? Any Heavy Walkers make the field? I'd think a Fireball would be a likely section for any Allies army with assault elements. Thank you for any info you can provide us. -jay
  14. Seems you guys haven't found the Battletactics.tv vids yet. http://www.facebook.com/dusttactics Great Close ups of the Q4 releases and the prototype Axis Flyers. Also pics from the Dust Tactics Championships from Day 2. Any of you guys have any info on how the Warfare Tournament on Saturday went? The FFG Day 3 vid announce the name of the winner but not what faction he was playing. Interested to see the break down of armies and hopefully list for some of the higher ranked players. The new Gencon previews really have me excited to play more. Also looking forward to playing with all Tracked Support armies with Tankodesniki Upgrades. -jay
  15. Not sure how far away from Northern Virginia you are be we have a group that meets on Tuesdays at Huzzah Hobbies in Ashburn, VA. Things are kind of casual right now but we will be starting organized play in September. -jay
