  1. Here don't pay those high prices you see on eBay. This website sells the units you're looking for by breaking the core box apart, so their real cheap. It doesn't say it, but they come with the card(The outdated one since it's from the original box). Hope this helps. www.auggiesgames.com/

The new ones are a lot cooler. Back in my day we would have killed for hybrids, fire imps, goblins, shadow dragons, and etc… So. please stop asking for the old miniatures. I'm not the bad guy here, but I know what you really want. You don't really care about the old miniatures, but rather have more miniatures right now. The game has just started up so give it some time to grow. I rather have FFG spend their time and money on new stuff to advance the game for everyone to enjoy. Don't be sorry at all. I am new to Descent, and I am about to create standups for the D1 figures: I don't need more sophistication to play them. I am not eager to see the old figures re-released, because, as you say, I simply want more heroes and monsters. All the better if FFG move on and offer totally new ones. Thank you for your support. When I posted this I expected to get bombarded with tons of hate for my opinion. Never did I expect someone to agree with me. I guess that I shouldn't always expect the worst of people. Thank you again for agree with me that FFG needs to grow and expand to succeed.

I want to give ffg my monies! FFG either doesn't seem to understand this, or doesn't care, considering the scalper-enabling they do at GENCON. http://docbelmont.wordpress.com/2012/08/28/gencon-sell-outs/ They just don't care. Really, they make their profit off the game, and that is that. It is your own choice to buy the games at a ridiculously insane price. Let those scalpers set their prices, but don't buy from them. Just wait two months for the game to come out for the rest of the world. You should be supporting your local game store instead of supporting the scalpers.

Since most of the quests require an objective it doesn't feel like having 1 around 1 monster less per group allows them to be able to do the activities that are required along with fighting off the enemies. Add in if one of the players rolls badly and goes down, it gets out of control very quickly as they are overwhelmed as they are missing one action per turn, probably clumped together and have almost no health and fatigue to last the next turn. We have played a bunch of maps with different overlords and the result is typically the same. Heoes do ok until one goes down and then it's just a matter of time until the Overlord is able to draw whatever card he needs (typically frenzy or dash) to win. Does anyone else feel this way or is there a method of making a two hero party more fun? Last week my friends and I tried to play Descent with just two heroes, and I have to agree that it sucks to be the heroes. We had no chance as the heroes to accomplish our objective. Yeah, the game should really be played with four heroes all of the time for the full experience. But, I can see three hero games just as fun if not a little more challenging.

I would be appalled if they mixed the old miniatures in with new content. I doubt they will re-release the old monsters, it would be nice if they did, but they better not mix the old figures in with new content. If owners of 1st Ed had to re-buy miniatures they already have to get new content for 2nd Ed that would be amazingly arrogant of FFG. I agree with you on this. It would be appalling if FFG did re-release the old miniatures in future expansions. I'm sorry for those who came late to the series, but Descent has to move on. 6. Personally, I like it when people don't get what they want (me included). It spices up the game when you have to play something you are not comfortable with. I hand out to each player three cards and they have to pick two cards (One they love and one they hate), and discard the third. Then they mix them up, and randomly trade one to a person of their choice. Then with the two cards they now have they can pick which one to play. You just have to hope you didn't give up the one you want and took the one they wanted. If you can't tell we've been playing this for way too long.

I'm a very latecomer to the party and can't pick up much of anything other than the big boxes (but am grateful for that as they seem to be the meatiest and most rewarding). I can't even pick up class decks because I cannot find enough for the players who play and spiritbound is, at this time, the only one in print. I'm sure I'll reach a point of saturation where I want even more expansion but I"m currently just trying to obtain what others already have and it has been an abysmal process. Lastly, I see folks playing with characters (online) I do not have. I totally love the concept of hero cards which span from one game to the next. (AKA Dungeonquest provides runebound and Descent player cards so you can use those chars in other games.) I hear you. I too am also trying to gather up as much as I can before it's all gone. I originally thought I had all of the time in the world to buy the expansions. Then when I went to look online I found out that they are all out of print now. I am only thankful that I started before they were all gone. I'm pretty happy that I obtained all of the class decks since some of them are really hard to find now. Hopefully, FFG will some some love to Runebound. Granted, I really don't see them doing anything with it for awhile.

  9. OK, we know roughly when the first expansion is coming out sometime around 4Q. They've released all what is going to be in it with the new cards, monsters, pieces, and heroes. With it just having two new heroes for the warrior and mage archetypes do you think that they will release pretty soon news for the second expansion with the healer and scout archetypes??? I'm just guessing here, but I think that they already knew what they wanted to do before D2 came out (I think I am safe to assume that). With D2 coming out this summer along with the first expansion coming out this Christmas. I think that the second one with come out in the 1Q of 2013. Then I think we will get our first large expansion in 3Q 2013, so a year from when it first came out. I bet that we'll be hearing about it sometime around November/Early December. Anyone else think the same, or I am off???

You will forget about the old monsters as soon as you see what they are coming out with next. That I am sure. What "short period of time" are you talking about? First ed was released 7 years ago and the last expansion with miniatures, Tomb of Ice, about 3 years ago. I should explain myself here. Being both a archaeologist and a historian I tend to see time differently then most people. I view anything within the last 100 years as recent history, and anything ten years ago as something last week. Sorry, about the confusion.
  12. First off I want to start off by saying that this is one wonderful game to have in your collection. Sure the game is different from the first edition, but we have to move on to change with the times. My purpose for writing this topic is to start throwing around some ideas that we as players would like to see in the future of this game. I perfectly agree with this statement. I've been saying this since the first edition, and I will continue to try to push for this for Descent 2.0. Smaller box expansions with new quests, heroes, monsters, and items. A game similar to Descent called Super Dungeon Explore is capitalizing on the smaller unit box expansions to add to the core game. Come on FFG, and join the bandwagon. On top of that it would be nice if you added undead heroes along with Uthuk. You just can't add them into your other Terrinoth games, and not expect us to want to play as them in Descent. Adding onto this I want to say that I don't think that they will ever re-release the old monster units in the future expansions. The old Lieutenants I do on the other hand see them making the cross over with new campaigns. Correct me if I am wrong, but I still believe that they are making them (or at least selling them still). I know that this would never happen, but I would like to add it into my wish list. I would like to see a Lieutenant figures of Margath, Lord Vorakesh, Blackwood Beast, and Sir Vyleen the Fallen. It would be a nice see them as figures to play out a storyline in Descent 2.0. This leads me into some new types of monsters I would love to see added in. Recently I've been playing Runebound, and I think they have a ton they could cross over. First off I am finding it a hard time to think of large scale monsters to throw into the game, but I know that they are still out their. The only one I would really like to see is the Burrower from Runebound: Sands of Al-Kalim. It would be cool to see the thing burrow underground and hid out for a while waiting to spring out on the heroes. They could also add in Berserker Ents (4 spaces), and Lizard Rats (2 spaces). For the smaller scaled monsters I would like to see them do a better job with their expansions. Don't get me wrong I like the goblin archers along with the fleshmolders, but I really did not care for the zombies. I think that they just added them because everyone loves zombies nowadays. It would be nice to see a witch type for the OL's mage type. Something on the lines of the witch of the woods, or shadow witch from Runebound, You really don't see many female enemies in the game, and they should be added (OL girl power). They could also do something with the lizard people from Runebound. It would be really cool to have a lizard warrior come at you with a spear weapon with reach (since normally the only monsters the OL has with reach are the large scale monsters). On top of everything I would like to see more human type bad guys like bandits, soldiers/knights, and etc… Here is a question for anyone. Do you think that they would ever have mounted enemies for the two spaced OL monster? Like an Orc on a warg, or something? One thing else I would like to add on. It would be nice if they had online a blank campaign printable sheet for us to create our own campaigns. Some new ideas that I have floating around in my head are new class cards that can be used by multiple archetypes. An example would be the battlemage class. A class that could possibly be used by either a warrior or a mage character. This would allow cross-over skills that would bring the game to the next level. The shadow walker class could be used with either a scout or warrior character. See how easy it is to add the elements they already have from their other game Runebound into D2. They already have the Spiritwalker class, so I think this is a strong possibility. On top of that I would like to see more familiars. I was kinda let down by the lack of them in the core game. Sure they became a handful for the OL to handle in the first edition, but they could balance it out in D2. Here are some ideas I would like to see in D2 for new familiars: Class based familiars: Spiritwalker class skill card; Double sided token with two different snakes on each side. One is like a boa constrictor which can move on enemies causing immobilization if they can't roll or surge or something on top of doing +1?. The second snake would be a viper which could poison the enemy monster if it doesn't block it. So the Spiritwalker hero can pick which type of familiar they want to use, but they have to decide which one to use before the encounter begins. Or FFG just makes two snake tokens which would be nicer, but I just made it so they could be cheap by having two familiars on the same toke, Kinda like the relic cards being both good and evil. I only came up with this familiar because everyone first thought that one of the heroes was going to have a snake familiar, so this my take on how it would have been. I think that people should be able to buy or find familiars. An example I came up with is the Fey familiar: It could stun an enemy monster if you pass a willpower roll. They could also bring back Mata and Kata to help the heroes reach the search tokens, but you don't get the item (if any) until they come back to you. Really, I just want some more familiars in the game. Maybe something that can leech heath from the monsters, and give it to it's hero. Sorry for the long post, but I really wanted to get the ball rolling on new ideas for FFG to think about. Chances are that they would read this, but you never know who might be listening. So let's hear what you other Descent players have to say…
  13. It will never happen. We are lucky with what we got for the short period of time, but it is time to look forward to the future. You will forget about the old monsters as soon as you see what they are coming out with next. That I am sure.
  14. How is everyone getting their copy of the conversion kit already? I pre-ordered it back in April and still don't have it. Honestly, why did I even bother to pre-order the thing when people can go off the street and pick it up at the local store. Just my luck. I would have no problem telling my friends that they would have to replace the game, but I don't think they would. Bunch of cheapskates. I already get on them for rubbing the dice too much in their hands taking off the paint. It really sucks playing Runebound, and you can't tell what the symbols are on the terrain dice. I just had to order some more from this website.
  15. Columbob said: If you're disappointed, look at it this way: 6 lieutenants are featured in this campaign's quests (20 quests total). I doubt we'll even get to see them all in a single campaign where we play less than half the available scenarios. How many more lieutenants could they cram in there unless almost every quest featured one? I just figured that one or two of the larger lieutenants would have made it over. I always liked Thaadd the Destroyer & Kratz the Plague. It would have been nice to see something other then human types. Don't get me wrong. I am still happy they are keeping around the old lieutenants. Lets hope that some others will make a comeback.
