  1. Can someone tell me a bit of strategies to use with expansion?

     

    Human and undead units in expansion seem overpowered….

     

    and elves seem to be really a bad choice.

     

    Can anyone shed some light as to the use of the new units?

  2. without cannon fodder units, dragons and giants don't stand a chance to size 6 aermy.

    we always get route against them.

     

    i found out a good strategy for elves was to push them into one place then ally with them using max influence.

    I got big stroong armies and won in the end.

     

    heroe plaed minor role, only as support in battle - I finished one quest.

     


    I won against human lords and  undead.

     

    Undead was worrying. He raised his zombie shield in every battle.

    and, I had a flying unit of 4 pegasi and 1 dragon for excursions into deep human lands.

     

    anyway,

    we are checking expansion which I have.

     

    I find it woryying that human new units abilities and to some degree undead   are overpowering.

     

    especialy with elves since their units in expansion sound worthless?

     

    can someone give hints to new units use?


  3. Is there another way except order card 8 and new rune gain rule to put a rune into an empty land?

     

    Order card 8 says that one can choose two friendly areas (obviously one with a rune or both with runes, be it false or true one) and move rune tokens as one sees fit.

     

    Am I reading this correctly?


  4. We find it to be too easy to use triangle units as cheap ones to route/move out neutral dragons/giants from their lands.

     

    Maybe we misread the rules so we are asking for clarifications.

     

    1. Do hexagon units have some kind of ability to resist route when it is forced upon them?

     

    2. Mostly these big guys (dragons and giants) end up being in a land that is surrounded by player controled areas - when attacked (or via tactics card that forces them to retreat) and when they have to retreat - they usualy end up with nowhere to retreat and are destroyed.

    Is that right? Are they destroyed when they can't retreat (there are only mountains and player owned areas around them!).

    3. Can routed dragons retreat via mountains or sea routes?(Flyers)

     

    4. and to be sure: does final strenght counts only by the number of units standing (as we know - hexagon units even if routed count as standing) and stronghold modifiers or is there something else?

     

    5. When in battle enemy unit gets a wound and end up destroyed - is it removed immediately or does it still play it's turn of initiative, even if it dies at the end?


  5. After spending all of them markers for a race, can one build more?

    (using something else as a marker) 

    or are they limited to the number included for races.

     

    by conquering an upgraded stronghold - does the conqueror get the upgrade too?

     

    when I upgrade the stronghold with a resource bonus on an area that usualy produces two resources - when the harvest comes - can a player choose which resource of two available the upgrade provides or is that set from the moment the upgrade is built by declaration of the player.

    (f.example: area gives food&wood, the stronghold there gets upgraded into providing resource bonus, must the player say that he always wants wood, or can he declare what he needs every harvest?)

     

     

    Can one switch upgrades when things change or are they finite once built?

     

    how does one raze a city and build stronghold there - when the 8.th card says one can't build stronghold on a city tile?


  6. A few more if you please.

     

    1. If a player plays a tactics card setting an activation token near token's owner forces, and token owner is next to play order card no 1,2,3 - can he move his units into that are causing battle (because this is just after played actics card nd was planned by token owner player - plan to attack the area?)

     

    2. If the token was placed next to owner's army, on an empty or city area - can owner of token move units there via strategize, or mobilize - not causing attacks?

    do activation tokens have any bearing to another player wanting to activate same area?
     
     
     
    can a player use same area to activate again this year or is it once activated excluded from players attack moves this year again?
     
     
     
    what is actualy the use of a tactics card that sets enemy activation token to any space on map? What would be the abuse?
