That's when I got 2 cave trolls to start the game. The staging area threat sky rocketed. Luckely I wasy able to pull out some dwarves to keep it under control for a little while, but I was dreading when my trheat would get to 33 and the two cave trolls would come down and wipe some allies and potentialy a hero or two. When my threat was at 32 Galadriel's greeting showed up and Dwalin with SoG, reduced by threat by 6. I kept playing more questing allies 3 rivendel minstrels, arwen, 2 west road travelers and a host of dwarves. Well, long story short, I never did engage the two cave trolls. I saw my fair share of battle, all my heros were one point away from being destroyed, but a couple of mirkwood runners helped cut down the horde of enemies. The final quest for the win, I quested with everyone but dain for 24 willpower, there was 17 threat in the staging area. I thought this game would be a loss for sure, but my deck kept me going at the right times. One of the best games I've played thus far, and there have been some good ones. I just don't know what's going to happen, LOTR is a great game.
  4. The orcs have 3 hit points. Thalin only does one damage, so they still have two points left. So, the way I understand it, is that the orcs would still deal two damage, and be placed in the staging area with one damage token on it. That's the way I play it, the way you describe makes it sound like Thalin will destroy any enemy when it's revealed from the deck. Let me know if I'm playing it wrong, if I am Thalin will be in my deck more often

Though if your man enough, you won''t try to exploit something that is mainly based on a designer error. It works even with only one UC, but to get three of these results in a row you need at least two of them. Wow, I was wondering about some of these low scores too. I've never tried this deck strategy. I have had some problems with card draw, but I think it would be a bit overwhelming to have the whole deck in front of me, with most of the cards just being feed to protector of lorien. I dont mind the low draw, although it's frustrating if I'm waiting for a certain card, but some of the thrill of it is when the card you need shows up at the right moment, and if it did'nt you would loss the game. Gandalf has saved me a few time in this way.

I had resourceful attachment in there but never saw it. Games 1 and 2 were incredibly fast. I was stunned when I finished game 2 on the second quest phase. I had lore of Imladris, protector of lorein, escort of erodas in my opening hand. I quested with my three heroes and the eagle in round 1, I got a treachery card. I discarded one card for eowyn's ability and had the 8 progress tokens to take out the quest card. Moved roshgobel to the active location. During the resource phase of the 2nd round I moved one progress token to Bifur. He healed the eagle with Imladris and attached protector of Lorien with his three tokens. Eowyn brought in the escort. I quested with every one. Pulled a one threat bat card plus four in the active location. I discard the 5 cards in my hand into the protector of lorien attachment, and had a grand total of 17 willpower which gave me 12 progress tokens in the end, and that was it. I just realized my starting treat was 24 not 23, so I need to add a point to the final threat and the final game result New total 52.3

All games pretty similar. Just waiting for locations with victory points to come out of the encounter deck, otherwise it was a pretty easy scenario. If these locations showed up earlier I probably could have knocked of a few rounds on each game. Certainly not one of my favorite scenarios, it get a bit frustrating waiting for the locations to show up, but I guess that's also what makes it challenging.

Game 1: Dunhere with 3 dunedain marks early in the game, and some Gandalf sneak attacks helped move this game along quickly. Game 2 and 3. I had to resort to a tanking style of play, since I did not have sufficient attack stength to attack the trolls in the staging area with dunhere. Henemarth Riversong helped me gauge just how may players to commit to a quest so I would not release the trolls to the staging area. I generated an army large enough, with the help of Grimberon, to take them down one by one by intentionally engaging one of them each round. I was a bit hesitant not to have eowyn, but I did not need her since I made up for it with questing allies. This scenario is not heavy in staging area threat until the trolls come in, but by then I had enough allies and attachments to handle it.

Two hill trolls to deal with early on in the game. Gandalf sneak attacks and Dunedain marks on Dunhere finished them off slowly while keeping a low threat. Game 3 was almost a breeze, thought I would end with a score below 100. Hill troll showed up in the staging area in the end with a few other enemies. Ewoyn and Thodred bit the dust. Dunhere with unexpected courage cleaned out the two foes while the hill troll sat in the staging area. My threat was low enough so that I just hit the troll in the staging area for a few rounds and finished him off. It was a one-on-one show down in the end his one threat to my one willpower then, unexpected courage, deal two damage with the two dunedain marks I had. Pretty exciting game, things went downhill pretty fast, surprised I pulled it off in the end.

Example, Adam and Anna get 150pts in total for one game (the combined team score). Anna logs the play as 2-players, 150pts and puts her heroes in. Adam logs the game as 2-players, 150pts and puts his heroes in. Is this the right way to do it? That's the same question I am wondering, or do we add the rounds to each players individual score? I play two decks so do I enter my group of heros twice? Under the scoring system suggested by Bjorne, the players will have the same score. But inwhat I suggested the players will have different scores. I think bjorne is right, does anyone know for sure? If this is the correct method it's annoying that I'd have to enter my two groups of heros as two different games even though they have the same score.
