bobafett012 got a reaction from Mardakar in edge battle - our most desperate hour and lightsabre deflection vs heat of battle
No and yes. they are two different types of events. one is an action, one is an interrupt.
in the case of our most desperate hour, your action windows are after attacker declares, after defenders are declared, AFTER the edge battle is resolved, and after every strike. so if you wait until after the edge is resolved, that heat of battle cannot be affected by our most desperate hour, and it doesn't interrupt anything. it merely puts a shield on a unit of yours. however, it could have been used in one of the 2 action windows after attackers are declared or after the defenders are declared, but you wouldn't have known about the heat of battle by that point.
light saber deflection, however, IS an interrupt. so it allows you to interrupt damage being done to non-vehicle units. in the same scenario, you wait till the heat of battle is being resolved and then use lightsaber deflection and deflect the damage to your opponents unit instead of yours.

are you seriously worrying about something which you have zero control over, is years away, and no one would have any legitimate information about what so ever?
I have a better idea, stop worrying about the life of the game. if you like it, then play and have fun with it until it is no more. Then move on to whatever new game you fancy.

you can't run Sith affiliation with unstoppable advance, it's a navy only affiliation.

if thats the case i certainly wish they would put out some star wars video games that are actually worth a ****.  I don't think i have played a single star wars game that i felt was worth the DVD it was printed on since the knights of the old republic series.

bobafett012 got a reaction from SetJudgement in Deck Building?
as far as the deck building system in star wars goes, it uses objective sets that are made up of 1 objective and 5 other cards that must be used together and can't be separated.  the set number is in the bottom right of the cards, followed by a 1-6 of 6.
to give a quick example, the emperor's web is set number 23.  so there will be 6 cards that are part of set nu,ber 23.  the emperor's web is 1 of 6,  emperor palpatine is 2 of 6, emperor's royal guard is 3 of 6, sith library is 4 of 6, force lightning is 5 of 6 and force choke is 6 of 6, all being set 23 (all of which will be in the bottom right corner)

as far as actually building a deck to play with, that depends on your playstyle, what factions you like etc etc.   Navy tends to be aggressive and attacks the LS objectives frequently, Sith is all about control, and scum is somewhat of a mixed bag of control and tricks.  as for the LS, jedi is all about the heroes and enhancing them to be very powerful, it also has some control as well, Rebels are similar in nature to navy, they are very aggressive, with lots of blast damage, and smugglers and spies have lots of tricks to manipulate the game.

you can and usually will mix factions.  you tend to get more powerful, and versatile decks by "splashing" in a second faction.  technically, you can run a 3 faction deck, but its HIGHLY un-recommended.  when you run multiple factions, you always want to choose the affiliation card of the smaller faction in your deck, and you generally don't want to run a split of more than 6/4.  6 sith sets, and 4 navy sets for example, and you would run the navy affiliation in this example)

there is plenty of decks that have answers for sleuths.  i run a sith deck with scum splashed and rarely have issues with he sleuth deck.  the key is understanding the deck and how it functions and what it needs to win fast, and then just playing accordingly.  obviously your going to lose to it on occasion if they get the dream draws and you are getting bad draws, but that happens with every deck.

bobafett012 got a reaction from player1761766 in Major units we're still missing
that question depends on your definition of "major" units.  there is many imperial officers such as Admiral Ozzel, but again, i don't know your definition of major.

I'd say you have 4 of the 6 "big" bounty hunters yet to go.  dengar, IG-88, 4-lomm, zuckuss.  you have quite a few officers for  the rebel alliance and imperials as well, such as admiral Ozzel, General Jan Dodonna, major bren Derlin (played by Cliff from cheers), moff jerjerrod, Captain Lennox, Crix Madine, admiral Piett, general Rieekan, general Tagge, commander wolffe

you have many of the named pilots for the rebel alliance such as biggs darklighter, Arvel Crynyd, zev senesca, Dak Ralter, Wes Jansen, Jek Porkins, Garven Dreis, Davish "pops" Krail, Derek "hobbie" Klivian.  there is many more but i am not sure they are shown in the movies or named in the movies.  Arvel Crynyd, for example, was not  named but he was the A-wing pilot that crashed into the executor and cuased it to crash into the death star.

You have the named tie pilots such as mauler mithel, dark curse, and we have backstabber.

you have alot of guys that are from the cantina and jabbas palace, such as Figrin D'an, max rebo, Wuher, Ponda Baba, Dr. evazan, Trooper Davin Felth, salacious crumb, beru and owen Lars, Malakili, witten

then endor stuff might include Nien Nunb, wicket and some of the other main ewoks.

There is tons more that the CCG had in it.  they had just about everyone from every movie, and there is likely tons more that i missed but it just goes to show you there is tons more unique units, maybe not "major" units, still left to toss into new sets.

bobafett012 got a reaction from GroggyGolem in What's the point of capturing?
there is literally dozens of reasons to capture cards, but to name a few of the more important ones. scum has some units that get more powerful with captured cards, many, if not most, of the objectives have benefits for captured cards on them, capturing is essentially spot removal. How is it anything other than good to remove Luke/han/chewy/lando/rogue3 etc etc from the board? there is even enhancements that allow you to discard your captured card instead of putting it at an objective. That's a very good way to dispose of the LS heavy hitters so they can't be rescued.
as far as focusing down units, sure, that's all well and good, but elite units are very tough to keep focused down because they remove 2 focus a turn and even Luke, is very tough because of his ability to remove a focus on his opponents turn as well as his own refresh, and now you have new events and units that can shuffle focus from one charter to another (bamboozle, cloud city operative, etc), and it will likely be from their unit to yours.

the second WG could not strike because when you get to step 5 and check for ready units, there aren't any ready, participating units left to strike.

bobafett012 got a reaction from Sephirex in Spice Visions
Just like putting a focus token on an attacking unit is the "cost" to strike. spice visions changes that to a damage rather than a focus. honestly, the card is very clear in what it does. " when a focus token would be placed on a character or creature unit, damage that unit instead" it gives no restrictions on when, and what circumstances it can be used, and simply says "when". so "when" a focus token is placed on a character or creature unit you control, for any reason, you get to damage that unit instead. it doesn't interrupt what it was doing our did, only the act of placing the focus token on it. that can be via a strike, via an opponent's tactics icon, via resource regen, via an event, via a unit ability, etc.
not really sure what else to tell you. the card does exactly what it says.

bobafett012 got a reaction from Toqtamish in Is the game dying?
its certainly not dying.  when FFG is putting re-prints out pretty much constantly on the packs, that means they are selling out of the product.  will it catch on like magic?  i wish, but prolly not, too many idiots love magic too much to give their wallets a break and go with a game that has so much more to offer for much less cash and guess work.
