I can't believe this s*** show is still going on. I tried to find a similar thread over on the Star Wars Legion forum, you know, cause all the stormtroopers and rebels look like dudes, but found nothing. Also hit Runebound but also came up empty handed. What gives? If we are on the path to re-writing established game lore for more female figs and proclaim games sexist, why stop here? And while you are at it, why not stop over at the PHG forums and commend them for including many female characters in their new IPs? Show some positivity there. 

So at work today I asked 13 people if this 
11 of them women,  not one  of them cared or thought this was sexist.  Same with others.  
 
At this point someone else's perspective  seems just to be really yours. as I'm going to call you out for just trolling.
 
By this messed up logic if I buy my daughter a my little pony set and it comes with 3 girl and one boy it's sexist. .....  Done feeding the troll in thread.

This is pointless. There's nothing sexist in this game. This topic Is just trolling and goes no where. There are no barriers in board games to keep anyone from playing. If you don't like something in game go buy a miniature that you like or customize it.

Your fight is not with fantasy flight games. Or anyone here on the forms.  Maybe refocus that to a company etc that is sexist. I just want to be clear I support women in games.  I'm down for everyone having fun. I don't think there are barriers in board games.  
 
If you think there are, or find a game has a gender gap and it bugs you. Maybe that says the problem  is with you.  I've played with women who just want to be a guy token. Or they like the almost nude mini girl. Or maybe they want to be something not human. Same with guys.

No My Point is the Vast majority of female gamers and Women Do Not Care What Gender A Bit Of Plastic Is !!!! .. they are not that shallow, vain and petty ... that just like Male Gamers who play female characters, they are there for the game not the politics

I have three daughters and the games they choose to play have nothing to do with the gender representation of  the game's characters but everything to do with the gameplay and theme. For example, they love the Thunderbirds  Co-op game despite only having one "token" female character yet I couldn't ever get them to play Star Wars Armada even if every in-game character was female. So I've never seen any real evidence that more female characters automatically equals more female gamers. 
Yet I constantly see, even in this thread, the claim that if anyone is against adding female character to any game they must also be against female gamers. 
This is a dishonest tactic.

I think this whole thing is stupid. It is all based around assumptions. OP assumes the Brotherhood and Super Mutant are males and thus feels there needs to be more women. What if I assume those figures are female? Lore can back either point of view but in the end, assuming gets you nowhere. The first 3 letters of that word are what we look like when we assume. Being an SJW over an assumption is even worse. Asking for additional, more gender specific models only creates more traps. Increased production costs for starters. Then people will want transgender figures or any of the other flavor of preference out there (I am starting to lose count). As it stands, the game really has what, 2 confirmed male characters in the Vault Dweller and the Ghoul? 1 confirmed female and 2 which can go either way. That seems pretty balanced to me.

I'm completely baffled. I can only assume this is a joke because I've been playing P&P RPGs and board games since the mid-80s and even as a 12 year old playing Talisman with my friends none of us wouldn't play as say the Prophetess because she's a female and we were boys. And if a boy in 1984 can play as a female character in a game without it being an issue I have to assume a full grown adult would be able to at least *pretend* to do the same in 2018.

Let's not forget that the minis show all sorts of gear that your characters don't start with.  They're definitely not designed to be highly-accurate representations of the actual character you are in the moment - just a ballpark idea

I'm not sure if this is serious or not. I've never met a gamer who refused to play a game because they couldn't play a character with the same gender as them. I mean the token has a gender I guess but it's just a token. If this bothers you so much why not just use some coins? Or minis from another game? Seriously: is this for real?

And see, that is where the issue lays. It is a game that is appealing to the fans of that franchise. You water that down and/or change that and you upset your target audience, which are fans of the Fallout game and lore. This game wasn't initially designed for those who are ignorant of Fallout. Otherwise, they would have made a new IP. This is a licensed game because they want to draw on those fans and pull them into the board game market, if they weren't already. We saw that a little bit with the Bioshock game, Doom, Gears of War, etc... There is a distinct lack of female characters in those games as well but it isn't sexist because that is how the video games are and to change that would piss off the fans. 
Like I said earlier, new IPs, I am all for more diversity. This industry could use it. My previous example of Ashes is a great example. They have male phoenixborn, female phoenixborn, and phoenixborn of a variety of races and it is awesome. Something there for everyone in addition to being a great game. But in this instance, your fight just doesn't fit or work. If you have an issue with that area, you need to hit up Bethesda.

I don't think anyone is against girls in the game.  But to make a thread and call this game sexist is wrong.  What I'm not for is forcing  games,movies,art books etc to bend to appease people. Once you force that it's no longer art or freedom. This goes all ways. 
 
Make great games movies art etc. Don't just shoehorn in things.  Everyone has different views. No one is right or wrong. 
 
I doubt this game will even see a expansion. As more characters miniatures might have been  added. Fantasy flight games base on video games don't have a good track record for that.
 
At the end of the day, fantasy flight games has put a ton of female characters in its other games. 

But as I requested to end the Debate .... female gamers to just state Bothered or Not Bothered !!
