You are right, i first thought that it is, but by closer look, it looks like it is definitely not the same artwork.
13 hours ago, Piscettios said:If you compare the close up of the die with this, it doesn't look like this pic at all to me. Look at his right collar, both are different. The art in the die, despite being blurred, looks much flatter and doesn't have contrasting highlights on his face like this one. Also his head is tilted forward on the die and it's a bit more straightened in your pic.
I could be wrong, but they don't usually alter artwork and instead they just copy/paste.

That picture is definitely lando, you can see the original artwork below. I suppose it also truly will be Lando and not any of his equipment.
For the rest, I actually recommend to go through some card databank for the artwork in LCG Star Wars. I think, that blue die is maybe Ahsoka Tano, as it looks like the image has white top.

Hello everyone,
I published a decktech article commenting on card choices for Poe/Maz deck and its gameplay. The decklist is also available there.
I won with it a Store Championship and finished in top8 on Europeans.

I had the same issue, so there are few recommendations:
Do not buy booster boxes per case (paper box with 6 displays inside). My experience is, that despite the fact, that I did not had double legendaries inside a box, i had similar legendaries inside boxes in a case. Therefor I opened in 5 boxes and got 4x Krennic, Obi Wan, U-WIng, 3x Rocket Launcher and couple others. Resulting in fact, that after opening 30 legendaries, I had only like 8 different of them.
Second - try to change with others, I found out, that 5 boxes is sufficient amount to make a playset if your community is reasonable and you open the boxes asap after the release of the set. You will have plenty of spare rares and some people are even willing to trade 3-4 rares for 1 legendary.

Store Champs at ihrysko - Bratislava, Slovakia. 9 person tournament only.
Winner: Marek Sorf (me)
1) Poe/Maz
2) Palpatine
3) Vader (AWK)/Royal Guard
4) Palpatine
Its not representative outcome however due to amount of players. There will be one more store champ this weekend in Prague, where we expect higher playerbase.

Thrawn and Mace Windu, both would be in current card pool great. However we have to wait for the rest of the set. Ezra is good for the opportunity of 7 point character (however because he is unique he is still worse than Stromtrooper). 5 character dice hero decks listed in other topic are imo tier 3 at best. The Day is ours is scary as hell believe me, it will be nasty in the even more brutal way, than New Orders are now.
I am convinced there will be Darth Maul as blue legendary villain and hopefully we will see either Hera Syndulla or Ahsoka Tano.

Interesting, I almost hit Thrawns ability.

Hi, thank you for the report and for the full standings.

Jedi Holocron:
Upgrade, Cost 0, sides +1 focus, +1 melee, +1resource, special, special, blank.
Special: remove this card from play to find a card in your deck or discard pile and put it in your hand. Shuffle your draw deck afterwards.

wiley: ePhasma is one of the most difficult deck to build and handle well, but I have met a player who was able to make a competitive match against me. YOu still have to draw your fast hands, thermals and u-wing, but I agree that thermal is an issue and it can destroy the game for you. but in cases when thermal does not drop, you probably win. It has a ton of removal, a solid amount of control over the board and it can produce solid amount of shields and consistently deals 3-5 damage per turn, so you can get down Poe on turn 3.
However, there does not have to be a counter against this deck. It is just solid Tier 1, so if there are decks able to compete with 50% chance against Moe and rest of the field, than the game is ok. There was also no "counter" against Vader Raider in previous meta and people were fine with it. There is one pretty obvoius character countering Poe, which is Kylo Ren. People used to play rVader + eKylo back in Awakenings, which could be worthy even now against Moe, but I have not tried it yet.
I am currently trying to make Luke worthy and it seems, that it can be ridiculous against decks without sufficient removal (where Poe Maz is somehow positioned) but it really struggles against control suites. In uncontrolled turn, the damage output with My Ally is the Force is crazy and when he is coupled with either red for Leadership or Maz for consistency, I like it more than Vader Raider.

Good piloted palpatine deck, eLuke/Rey (maybe also some other alterations of Luke deck not sure), ePhasma deck.
All of them have at least 50% chance to win, I think the matchup is slightly in their favour.

I am trying to fulfill my debts for long due articles on my blog, so here is translation to english for last part of SoR card analysis.

7 hours ago, Buhallin said:Against most decks, if you can remove one die a roll of 3 damage and a blank means you remove the damage, and take none. Against most decks, a Focus+Blank means they use the focus, then you remove the die they changed. If they've got a good, a bad, and a focus (sounds like a movie title) then they'll get one good, but at the cost of 3 dice.
None of this applies to Poe/Maz. Removing the better die means you still take anywhere from 4-9 damage depending on what they have in their hand. A number of removal options also just plain don't work - if Poe/Maz has initiative, He Doesn't Like You might as well be Abandon All Hope, because it's just as useless.
Poe/Maz isn't doing "Only 4 damage a turn", it's doing those four damage a turn in situations where almost every other deck in the game would be doing zero or 1.
Other decks have more than 2 dice on table which actually can do damage. Maybe with exception of Vader Raider, where Rader die is on par with Maz damage output, but there you have Bait and Switch and Force Strikes so you are also cheating out damage. Other decks like lets say eKylo + eVader or ePhasma, Guavian, Stormtrooper has much higher amount of dice able to roll damage than ePoe eMaz. So your point is really not valid (either in case, that Poe/Maz player actually plays some upgrades like Goggles, Cunning or DL-44 as it is smart thing to do). In Poe Maz, when you remove one Poes die, you have only one die sitting there possibly doing something, in other decks, there are usually other 3 dice capable of do some serious things + some upgrades.
Lastly, most of you here mention all the time how broken is the Emperors Throne Room in that deck. From my experience, I almost never win the battlefield roll, so when that BF hits the table it is through Hyperspace/New Orders. As New Orders is general neutral card, everyone has the possibility to play it in his deck to get out of Throne Room asap. But whining seems more popular, because who cares about new orders and removal in his deck because he would have to make some spots for it...

Thank you mate. I am trying to write it readable for native speakers. Hopefully I will manage my brother in future to make a corrections after me, so it is a step better.
The tournament was at least very competitive in top32 and you could meet really interesting decks and players there. We have nationals in czech republic this weekend, so should this finish also in any interesting way, I will add one more report from nationals. I plan to make one interesting change in my deck for it, so there will be maybe some interesting comparison in Poe/Maz approach of winning a game.

I finished in Europeans Top8, here is my report on my blog, including link to decklist, brief sumamry of games and others.

I still do not think Poe/Maz is broken, its just Tier 1. I enjoyed winning with Vaider / Raider yesterday on 9 man tournament stomping through everything with Fast Hands, 8 melee upgrades and 20 support/events with cost 0-1
People really should start to play defensive cards again. Even in Poe/Maz you just can not play a deck with 20HP and 4 mitigation cards (one of them requiring battlefield control and second yellow character) otherwise it will look like the match on the new StarkillerBase video.

Because it takes an upgrade slot and does nothing which would really help you. You want Fast Hands, Force Speed is useless.
-
Frozen Waste is the option you should play. First action is rolling Poe, than you opponent either claims to get your die (doing nothing this round), or you have second action to roll Maz and preferably resolve something. Since now, you can pretty safely claim anyway.
Frozen Waste helps heavily against some of the hardest counters you can run into, which are high HP characters with strong character dice and mitigation (Vader - Sith Lord, Luke Skywalker and that dreaded Palpatine) and once you have Fast Hands you can effectively claim even as your second action in turn. There are some other cards, which most f the players do not paly in Poe/Maz and they really should, but Frozen Waste is the most obvious one.
And yes, I know that Hyperloops released video Poe/Maz vs. Palpatine, but that Palpatine deck was the biggest junk I have ever seen probably, so this really does not count as proof of anything. Once Bobby runs into neated Palpatine deck, he will understand why Throne Room is bad idea.
